WinCatalog is a friendly and easy-to-use program for cataloging disks, folders and files. If you are just starting to catalog your removable media, then this program is perfect for you. WinCatalog Standard takes cataloging to the next level. This software is as easy-to-use and friendly as the Light version, but at the same time it is much more powerful and functional. It is the best choice for those who want to manage their disk collections effectively.

Pretty nice, but there are many good alternatives. I'd bet locate32 is faster than this and cathy. Other shareware options can index inside archives and iso files like EF Catalog or Whereisit.

There is a free light version, which at least works and is much more useful ! They should tell you, that you are paying for an unfinished, and really lousy Beta-version. Takes an endless time to open and even for the easist jobs. Crashes all the time. Before exiting, it does'nt ask to save your work, and much less your settings, which are different each time you start the program. Wastes resources even after shutdown To open the program with the content of a few hard disks, takes several minutes. Catalog an hard disk, takes hours, and finally it crashes and you loose your work and time. Searching for a file, usually causes a crash. If you don't remember to save your work befor closing the program, all your work is gone, without even asking you. Saving your work takes again several minutes, and it doesn't save any settings, which appear just at random after the next start. After shutting the program down, it still takes 99% of your CPU time, and you have to close it with the task manager. I have never in my life spent 30 bugs for such a poorly designed software. Totally useless ! Updated on Apr 14, 2009 I would recommend anybody interested in a product like this, instead of wasting his money in this product, buy Advanced File Organizer, from SoftPrime Development, for the same price, which is a program that really works, not like WinCatalog 2009, which is the worst software I have ever paid for.

"Love program" Database setup and I use the reports to export to Excel. Wish that I could add to what is displayed in main screen of each item. Since I have a large software and movie collection, I use it extensively to track those areas.
