"The best music reproducer around." The VLC Media Player is the best music reproducer around. I primarily listen to classical music through a very good music system (not like the living room audiophile system, but it's a computer after all. Fantastic. Ditto rock from my era. Once in a while it has trouble with a DVD, but never flv or mp4 It plays a larger variety than any other player I know and it's sound is excellent, especially when it is compared to wi***p.

Not only is VLC simpler to use, it will work when others won't. The controls are also much easier when you want to rewind or fastforward to a particular place in a movie. LOL! Can't they come up with a better ICON than that little orange and white cone? I like it. It does what it is supposed to, and does it better than others. Wish I could say that about so many things, and here it is. When my daughter was given a laptop the Windows Media Player was screwed up, and try as I did to repair or replace it, it still just wouldn't play DVDs. (I had already put VLC on my own computer, so I knew about it.) Well, that solved all her DVD watching problems.

"Frankly, more frustrating than it's worth." Image only clear at minimum size of window. It almost always hangs up explore (list of files) requiring a reboot. I could easily do without this program if it hadn't listed itself as the default program for videos.

Anyone who said vlc is more customizable than mpc must have never heard of avisynth and ffdshow, and check your eyes mate, fact is this app is capable of producing the poorest image i've ever see in any video player. buggy too.

"Must Have Video Player" It plays everything. I use it every time I need a player to work. No extra codecs to install. I can't really think of any. It is awesome. I always install this so I can play ISOs of my DVDs and if I need to play a video format I never have heard of, I just assume VLC can play it, and practically every time it doesn't let me down!

"Good when it does not crash." Handles many types of media formats. When using it occasionally crashes and I have to restart it.

"Great, easy to use media player" Easy to use, fast, not any shiny effects, does exactly what it's supposed to do and more. Nothing at all. Needed a DVD player for a computer, and this worked perfectly.

"Greatest Media player I've found." I've used it from the time it was born and I refuse to and will not use anything else. There isn't anything it will not play. No codex to download. All in a small package. Does not hog your drive or memory....Oh, and loads very fast. It leaves other media wishing they had thought of this themselves. Just so they could charge an outrageous price. You just have to make one for Mac so they can experience a great program too! No man is an island no man is aloneEach man joy is joy to me, each man's grief is my own. Sounds Corny, but I'm a girl. :p
