"just what I needed" Plays every single format, which saves me from a lot of confusion. I can hardly play everything at once on my playlist.Always tells me it will take a lot of time to load. Could me a little easier to use.

"Be very careful with this software." It works with a variety of media. It appears to be linked to Seekmo which is basically browser hijacker that redirects web searches. Avoid this software. Uninstalling VLC Media Player did not uninstall Seekmo. After uninstalling VLC from Add/Remover, I ran ComboFix and reloaded SP3 (on Windows XP Professional) to get rid of Seekmo.

"Plays just about any file type" Compatible with a multitude of filetypes. Slight stutter noise when you push pause, no other cons Plays pretty much anything

"Best Multi-format video player" Ease of use. User friendly. None that I can think of. The VLC team ( all out there) hav continued on their promise.

"plays everything even flv files." It streams youtube video's, search the video on youtube that you want to see. copy the url paste it, and way you go you're watching the video through vlc . nothing I can think of Well it plays everything, I don't have to open a new player to watch what I wanna watch. And streams from you tube and other sites.

1 frame/sec All other MPC Mplayer core working without frame dropping. No multiproc handle. WAKE UP its 2010 the year haha. I think some years ago vlc the best but today the worst player. crash crash crash continously. 1 hour test wasted time.

"30 jan 2010." have all codecs , a super player ! i can not put all my media to start with VLC , so i have to take all the time one by one and is litle bit of frustration , when i can start instantly with double click !!!deleted so many times , just thinking will search all my media by himself ! not like winamp super sound ((but with many crashes)) , a decent sound in which way i can play all my media .

"Universal Player but features are too basic" Plays anythingSmall foot printPortable mode is still smaller and equally good Sound control slider is annoyingly clunky - you are unsure what the sound level is how to get the sound level you want. VLC hangs frequently needing frequent reinstall. Free, universal player that is fine for use once in a while. But with its shortcoming it still leaves room for other commercially available players.

"vkc player is fine...it plays most type of files" it is easy to use.. it would be nice if it has an option of delaying or forwarding subtitiles...

"An excellent player" Plays almost everything you can throw at it Won't play DVD-RAM disks Bottom line its an excellent player that will most likely play whatever your wanting to play on it. Especially since it's freeware and doesn't come with any catches.

"Works fast; downloads quick; play with clarity, beauty." easy to use universal applicability of the player is very limited. i like the way the player works and the clarity it produces when it plays the videos and films.

"previous version was okay but this one sucks" can't find anything good to say as I've not used it much since the update used to work okay but now it won't play reliably I use vista on my laptop and play movies from a freecom NAS drive. As I say, it used to work okay but now VLC frequently freezes. Basically it's unusable so I'm using something else good point, it palys many formats.bad point, latest version freezes when playing from a NAS drive

"Very Nice. Exactly what I was looking for" Very fine control of speed of the feedback. You can increase to 2X or 3X, for example or do "fine" increments like 1.1X to 1.2X to 2.2X to 3.3X, etc. Awesome. Just downloaded so don't know of any yet. Does what I need at a great price - FREE!

Supports formats I've never even heard of, plays video/music better than most paid programs and even allows play lists to be easy and fun (not like Media player). All and all, the best media program I've ever used. I've noticed small glitches here and there as far as navigating through the program but I come from a family of programmers and happen to be a perfectionist anyways. It's a great program and very well written with all cynical nitpicking aside. Think I covered It, I've had the earlier version for about 6 months, re did my Os so now I'm back to restore the VLC. It seems to be a newer version than what I had, can't wait. Doesn't have the bells and whistles of anything fancy but Einstein once said "Any intelligent fool can make things more complicated, it takes a hero with a touch of genius to work in the other direction". As a side note, I hate being bothered with logins and verification for every little thing these days but I took the time to recreate a password just so I could say what a great job these people did with VLC. Excellent Job!

"Works when others will not." The most reliable player I've used. When other players are making you reboot, VLC keeps on going, like in that famous commercial. Occasionally, the slide bar will chase the cursor. Just close and reopen VLC and its good to go.
