UK's Kalender is a program intended to remind you of upcoming events and to-dos. There are several views for your dates that are organized similar to a calendar sheet. Dates and appointments can be entered into the calendar via an input form. You can enter a forewarn time, so as long as "UK's Kalender" is running in the background you'll be reminded of your dates as soon as the forewarn time is reached.

Matches my Palm Desktop program but I still prefer to use it due to simplicity 1. No Option to start month at particular day, eg. Sunday 2. No Category column for ToDo, that will allow Sorting. 3. Much better view if finished ToDos will be Strikethrough. I just read that this has psychological effect (sort of gratifying yourself when you finish a certain task) 4. No View option on Event View that will include ToDo

Has enough options with a simple layout & uses very little resources. Has a week view, two week view, month & a yearly view. You can easily create your own catagorys, set reminders as when & how often, number of repetitions, end dates, intervals & repeat options, & snooze settings. Can also share your calender, appointments & reminders with other computers. Quickly scroll through the months or years & return quickly with a simple click. Also has a to do list. I have tried several other calenders & PIM's with lots of useless features for my needs, most were very pretty, worked very good & some sucked a lot of resources from an older computer and/or corrupted. This calender has not given any problems in three months. NA

Absolutely top drawer! Light on the system. Loads fast. Very stable. All the features I have ever wanted. And it's really & truly free -- no strings. Heartily recommended.

"Absolutely brilliant!" Clear and easy to use, packed with functionality without being bloated with useless eye-candy. Just as good as Outlook's calendar without the need to spend a fortune on Outlook, and best of all it includes a network-shared calendar without the need to spend an even bigger fortune on Exchange Server. It's far too good to be free, I'll be sending a donation.

Nice program, although it doesn't save the current window position properly (saves it 10 pixels higher than what it's currently located at). For something smaller, try Calendar Editor Pro. http://geocities.com/calendarprogram/download.html Or the ever-popular Rainlendar: http://geocities.com/calendarprogram/download.html

Nice program, although it doesn't save the current window position properly (saves it 10 pixels higher than what it's currently located at). For something smaller, try Calendar Editor Pro. http://geocities.com/calendarprogram/download.html Or the ever-popular Rainlendar: http://geocities.com/calendarprogram/download.html --- Update: New version v2.3.0 out as of July 11th 2009. http://freenet-homepage.de/ukrebs/. Window saving is fixed and this is now one of the top free contenders for the quickie calendar category. I've just written the author to ask whether .ICS format importing (and possibly exporting) can be added. If so this one will shoot past Windates and even Calendarscope in my opinion - it supports network/shared calendars and a to-do list as well. Very nice indeed.

Easy to use and fast. Feature rich Very customizable -colors, fonts, views, etc. Customizable and savable searches Bugs are minor BUT don't affect the operation of the calendar. Things like not intuitively auto-checking some check boxes. Would like a bit of a smaller footprint. This is a good product- I got rid of another calendar that I have used for years after finding this one Updated on Jan 21, 2009 The UK Kalendar has an update 2.2.1 at http://freenet-homepage.de/ukrebs/

Easy to navigate. Lots of configurable options, such as coloured text or backgrounds for example. Several niggles, see Summary. Far from perfect: Why not have 24hr times? 02:00 PM for example is incorrect, it takes up too much space & looks silly. "Event" is fine in Week & Fortnight views but is too truncated in Month view, when it's a pity it can't spill onto 2 lines. Coloured backgrounds show as tiny stars in Year view, where similar colours look the same. Most annoying of all, the Reminder is on by default & if you don't want it, which I rarely do, you have to remember to untick it on every new Event you enter. You also get little "Do you really want to?" notifications if you disable the alarm feature or if you exit the program. I wish these damn things could be disabled permanently! Updated on Nov 8, 2009 Well, I've now formatted the time display to my preference, it's in Extras > Internal formats, I've found that the little Event stars in Year view are meant to be all the same colour regardless of what colour you have them in your Week view, and I've disabled the notification on Exit, that's in Extras > Options > Misc, but it looks as if I'm stuck with having to untick the Reminder every time, it can't be turned off permanently.

Very stable and trim without a lot of stuff I never would use anyway. It would be nice if you could edit a little beyond the current month more easily. For example, if July, 2010 is showing, you can't make an entry for August 3 without selecting "August". A very small item. A good choice if all you want is a simple calendar!

I've been using this little gem for several years and it does just what you would expect of a calendar program. I like it better than several other such programs I have tried. None that I can think of. Try it, it's free and easy to use.
