Its wide variety of photo effects and adjustments Its "bulkiness" and slow booting I keep downloading and installing updates, hoping GIMP will be easier to load and use. I keep using other programs such as Paint.net, however, for its ease of use.

I would like to thank the people or inventors that came up with the GIMP.the tools and the help files do make it easier to use and the more i use it the better it becomes so thanks for this great program. I like the program some people have had a problem with the PDF but I haven't I like it. To be honest i have three other programs that do the same thing that GIMP does. I can say without a doubt that the GIMP hangs right there beside them you have a great program here and they cost money.

Gimp is for the photographer like a toolbox for the carpenter. It could be a bit more stable. Gimp is for the photographer like a toolbox for the carpenter. The toolbox for the carpenter does not make him a skilful carpenter but it is a condition for his work and his skills, the same goes for a photographer, Gimp or alternative professional editing program is a condition for his work, but you yourself must be skilful to do skilful editing. Gimp gives you just the tools. It has total flexibility. The programs total flexibility is one reason why it is so great.People who says that Gimp is complicated or that the GUI is bad etc. do not actually know what they are talking about.Gimp is a very simple program to edit professional work with. If you find it complicated, it is not because the program is complicated but because the task you are going to do is complicated. That Gimp opens in three windows might be a good or might be a bad thing, but I find this debate about this as a extremely minor issue. I think that Gimp is a gift from heaven as you get this great program for nothing.I also think that it is great that it is open source. No nagging about upgrading. You can install in how many computers you like. No one cares! That is worth a lot! Bjorn LundahlGothenburg, Sweden

Great program, does everything a photo/graphic editor, much better than paint and paint.net Learning curve for new users. Other than that, None. Love this program I've gotten 5 years of good use out of it, best of all it is free.Version 2.6.10 removes all the glitches from ver.2.6.8 like slow loads and saving pictures in system32. Recommended for all.

Very easy to use. DetaiIed and extremely informative manual. Compatible with peoplewho insist on using photoshop! I don't find any cons. Gimps features and functions are all absolutely useful, easy to work with and getprecise results. I'm a computer illiterate and even I find it so very very easy to use.All my best wishes to the developers of this product. I hope you live to be thousand years!!! Please keep up the excellent work!!

after first using it for a simple photo task you can easily explore its more powerful features maybe a little confusing for the novice

1.Good interface.2.Good features.3.A lot of effects.Brushes and others resources can be easily found.4.FREEWARE.This is the best thing about it.So much for no cost. 1.Uses too much of resources, resulting in crash.2.So bulky that it's very slow.Slower than adobe. 3.Can't use because it's so unstable and crashes so much. GIMP should take care of these small glitches.Only after that software will better than Adobe. So I give it 3 only for it's features. And 0 for uselessness.Because if it keeps crashing, you can't use use it and then what's the use of having it?

I love how easy it is to understand and operate! all is good!

Excellent features, many plugins, FREE, easy to use Crashes, it has a few glitches I use GIMP all the time when editing images, or probably making images out of scratch! It's a great photoshop alternative, and I recommend it to someone who doesn't want to spend so much money on an image editing program! =]

This editor really is comparable to Photo shop. It is the best free image editor and there are no two ways about it. it has a few bugs and glitches. This is the best free image editor out there. As far as image editors go Photo Shop is obviously Top of the line but for $600? With GIMP you get the 2nd best image editor and its free! Gimp lacks some tools and features found in photo shop but its a whopping $600 cheaper so im sure not complaining!

Has many features as in Adobe Photoshop. No comment... This software is easy to use, and I think it is a best free image editor. The most important thing is the application is FREE!!

Rated 50/50 by sandport at Aug 11, 2010

It's FREE, and comparable to the functionality of Photoshop. This software is especially good for those starting out to get a feel for image manipulation. There are also tons of tutorials on the GIMP website and sites such as YouTube. Photoshop is easier to use and has a couple more bells and whistles, but GIMP will save you HUNDREDS of dollars. I would absolutely recommend this product.
