Stickies is a PC utility to cut down on the number of Post-It notes. It stores all information in a single text-based ini file. They are yellow rectangular windows onto which you can put some text notes. Once created, they will stay on screen until you take them away. Just like a real sticky piece of paper.

The stickies are really handy, the software is free, it is lightweight, you have advanced options it doesn't work on other platform than Windows, no online version or backup If they would improve the compatibility and make an online version I would even pay for this software!

It's sort of like a mini super efficient data base. This allows me to save information in a very easy to use way. Quick and even allows you to print it out easily. I store information about bill, passwords, and anything else I want to save. I can't really think of any off hand. I could say something about something it doesn't do but I'm sure if I look close enough, I will find that it does that too. If you can get used to the idea of a program like this and commit to actually using it. You will find you can't live without it. I have tried programs similar to this but none seemed to be as good or efficient. I have my uses for it but I'm sure you will find tons of your own uses.....many I never even thought of.

Pretty convenient. I wish i didn't have to keep moving them out of the way Would be nice to have some kind of automatic interface with calendar programs.

Looks nice and tidy but I didn't use in in depth since it did not do exactly what I wanted. When I scrolled the screen of the photo application "behind" the notes it left "echos" of the notes on the photo app BUT I am pretty sure it was a bug of the photo app. Looks nice and tidy but I didn't use in in depth since it did not do exactly what I wanted. I was after something with label that "stay on top" to mark points on the screen to help with a photograph processing program behind/underneath.

Simple, elegant, unobtrusive, functional, plenty of features. There are no cons. Poor memory requires that I keep 'to do' lists, but my handwriting sucks and I have a tendancy to lose anything written on paper. After downloading several other apps including notepad-style word processors, day planners, and other sticky apps, Stickies appears to be the best solution available on cnet.

It's FREE! - we love that! - and very easy to learn to use. I'm not technologically inclined, but I haven't found any problems. This program is a great addition to my computer. It has made my organizing my work easier and more efficient. My desk & surrounding area are no longer repositories of many scattered pieces of papers and Post-It notes. By using the Stickies program, I can keep all my notes, even organize and color-code them - as well as set timers on them. I have the options to hide them and to attach them to specific programs so that when I next open the program/document, I am reminded of a task that I'd wanted to complete, etc. I strongly recommend it.

Does it all and well. Email support is superb - I've paid a lot of money for programs which do not offer this level of support and service. Slight latency when Stickies attached to an application. Sizing could be a little easier to do. II tried seven Sticky programs and found this one in a class by itself. I am using Stickies for keeping track of trades in the market and needed the program to do a lot of different things. I especially like the Attach to applications option and ability to use Wild Cards if the app string changes slightly. It is freeware; if you like it be sure to Donate to the programmer!

I love how the notes on the desktop go translucent when inactive. None so far. I've tried many of these free sticky note programs, and this is my favorite.

Sits in toolbar so is only a click away. Doesn't use a lot of resources. Not really any. Could use some more extras that some other programs have but doesn't need them. This is a simple program that I can click on and add a note when I am on phone, on web, etc and it attaches it to my laptop screen. It's wonderful. I always finds bits of information I want to save or get a call where I need to make a note. Very simple to use. Worth having. There's another one on cnet that has a few more features that I'd like, but you have to buy it and this one, free is more than enough

Haven't compared all of the post-it programs, but of the ones I have, I like this the best. Reletively verisitle, alarms, opacity, timers, roll up/down showall, etc. When I export all the info to save as a backup, it only exports the stickes that are "stored" or not on your desktop. But give most people don't even think about backing things like this up, it shouldn't be an issue. Quality, simple, flexible, and awesome.

I have tried several "sticky note" programs including the one that comes with Windows, TK8's "Sticky Notes," "7 Sticky Notes," "Hott Notes," and others. This one is the best--plenty of useful features, but not stuffed with useless or annoying ones. And unlike some other free ones, it won't nag you to upgrade to a paid version.
