@p2062007 .... Windows 2000 is dead !

Since when is active development a negative? IMHO it's the best FTP client there is, but doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement.

Best FTP client? Maybe the best ftp client you know but certainly far away from what professional FTP clients have to offer. Just search for FTP client and test the first 5 and you will notice the differences.

@ p2062007 I bet you still use Windows ME at home, don't you? ;) This is a nice FTP client, but not the best one. There are some annoying bugs on it, but overall its a very good client. And, it's freeware ;)

More features != more professional; It does however usually equal bloated and useless. How many of your "professional" ftp clients support using pageant for authentication?

@all the lame reviewers arguing on "the best/worst/bla-bla" software: THIS is the BEST, I repeat, THE BEST OPEN SOURCE , MULTIPLATFORM, STANDALONE ftp client AVAILABLE today. I use it on a regular basis on Windows, OSX and Linux AND it's SOLID ROCK. An application you can TRUST and USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Take ALL the facts into account when REVIEWING, don't just throw a lame "I've seen better". It's a FTP client, for god's sake ! Don't ask for wings on a submarine and propellers on a duck ! Get real.

Haven't seen a need to switch. Needs a tad more stability, we seem to get a new build every week and have for a year.

Very Good FTP client.... I still prefer FlashFXP, but if u don't need a rock solid FTP client, then FileZilla is a Very Good Free alternative....

You'd have to be "a complete retard" to give FileZilla less than a 5, just because it's free? Let's see... How often I've looked for a program in a particular category, and come to a site like this one. Sometimes I am not willing to pay for the software, but often, I just want whatever is best, whether or not I have to pay for it. I prefer using really good software, not just really cheap software. So what happens is that I sort by rating, and invariably at the top are all the freeware titles. I look at them one-by-one, and often see that although they're free, they lack the features and often the stability of their shareware counterparts. So I have to keep searching... Another software title... Oops, that one is also overrated because it's free, keep looking... FileZilla generally works well, but it's not so close to perfect that I'd give it a 5. I think you'd have to be "a complete retard" not to agree.

Considering that FileZilla is free, you'd have to be a complete retard to give it less than 5.

Please report bugs every single freaking start of an upgrade, still. Can you imagine if you browser nagged you like this? Otherwise, it's free and OSS, so I shouldn't biznitch.

Just tested it in Windows 2000, works perfectly. I have never seen it crash in 5 years, even beta versions. My performance is incredible, FileZilla never fails to max out the connection. I think p2062007 should check out his computer.. 5 Stars

You'd have to be retarded to rate this < 5. Yeah, I'm lookin' at you, p2062007.

Agreed, p2062007's review was ridiculous and most of what he said is simply not true; the rest his opinion (which I don't hold in very high regard). This is one of if not the best free FTP clients available, and it works fine on Windows 2000.

- No support for a 10 year old OS anymore - Great FTP client that also happens to be Free - Transfer speeds as fast as your server allows - Familiar FTP client interface - Never had a single issue with SFTP/FTP transfers - You can create icon themes with diff sizes - A developer who will listen to suggestions In short a 5/5 quality software

hands down the best FTP client EVER! dont know how i'd work without it! :)
Rated 10/50 by p2062007 at Oct 8, 2008
- No Windows 2000 Support - Highly overrated because it is free - Slow transfer speeds - Regular timeouts - Broken transfers and crashes frequently
