Mozilla Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component. The goal is to produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user interface language. The intended customer is someone who uses Mozilla Firefox (or another stand alone browser) as their primary browser and wants a mail client based on mozilla that "plays nice" with the browser.

I always used Outlook but I was using an old version. This is a great replacement for a home user. I like it very much. When inserting an image into an email, I never use an alternate text. Wish I could choose my own defaut. Also, had a problem with HTML for my signature and homepage. Some was incompatible and some people were getting warnings with my emails. I like the product very much once I was able to fix my problem mentioned above. Excellent!! I used Netscape and Composer for many years and loved that too. As I said, I wish I could pick my own default for the alternate text since I never use alternate text. Don't like have to remember to always change that. I usually for get and get the mesaage. Annoying!! Updated on Sep 8, 2010

Neat, clean and fast Absolutely none There is practically no setup involved. You enter your name, email address and password. Thunderbird does the rest. I had it up and running with three accounts in about five minutes. The interface is well organized and totally free of any social networking garbage. Thank you Mozilla and goodbye Windows Live Messenger!

There are no compelling reasons to replace Outlook Express with this program. 1. Does not automatically retrieve new emails.2. Adding recipients to new email is cumbersome. Address list is not readily available.3. Contacts are duplicated in the address book when they are part of a distribution list. I have stopped using the program after 2 months. Items listed in cons were enough to make me return to Outlook Express.

All. Absolutely and truly, everything! I have tried nearly all of Mozilla's tools and have never been dissatisfied. Zero. I cannot think of one item. Keep up the great work Mozilla and thank you!

Yes I, like Input Overload, just love paying $800.00 dollars for the privilege of being able to see my emails. I have a preference for things that lose me money and give me nothing in return, its a choice to be a moron.

'Needs more themes. I write a lot, sometimes editing on the fly in Thunderbird, and walnut is soooo played, though less played than the native gray and white. Otherwise, it's a 5.

Better than Outlook or any Microsoft product. No longer brings up address book when writing new mail or when replying and want to send to multiple addresses. Hard to dig up old stored and filed emails once compacted. Have used product for years. Compatible with both Mac and windows. Price is right. Beats outlook hands down.

Loads more quickly than older versions, and doesn't just sit there looping as the old one did.\ when sending. I had to get an IT Professional to erase my lifetime supply of emails which made the file enormous. Once that was done, it ran fine. A definite improvement. Very happy with it.

I like Mozilla for my email account, for it is fast and reliable. If you could give stylish-look, it would be more attractive.

Easy to set up and transfer old files to updates. When rebuilding systems the only draw back is that this does not find old files but copying old profile to new profile is a workable solution. I like Thunderbird because it does not get as many viruses as Microsoft Outlook.

I like being able to use Thunderbird without having to open a browser. I've used Tb just about since it began being offered. I have no dislikes at this time.

Lots of ways to tag, sort, filter messages It will change the font selected for composition for reasons unknown to me and that's annoying. It does what it should with no fuss, that's the way I want it to work.

This enable me to stop wasting time minimizing, cutting and pasting, and opening new programs just to get information sent to an intended recipient. Thus far, I have found no difficulties or experienced any type of problem with this time-saving software. I highly encourage anyone with efficiency as a must in their computer and internet activities to download and utilize this software. You will be absolutely glad you did.
