works the same as earlier versions. no cons yet. was worried about installing with windows 7.But I have had no problems what-so ever! pop e-mail works fine.Looking for other E-mail services and set-up is a pain in the butt.Just download and be happy.

I was quite excited to find my favourite email client upgraded. Until I found I could no longer send emails. No amount of adjusting the parameters worked. I was obliged to revert back to Ver 2. I have since started using M$ Windows Mail. Major difference netween Windows Mail and T'Bird 3 is that Windows Mail works.

Thunderbird has gone through many improvements, but it is taking way too much resources which make it as chewing gum on my computers and they aren't very old, indexing many times make the email fetch to fail (even if it is disabled). I rate it a 2 until Mozilla starts to make it eat less resources. I am reverted back to the latest v 2 again !

the best i've tried if you use outlook, stay with outlook if you always kept a secure distance from outlook to avoid any mess, mozilla should be your choice

I like the flexibility of the setup and available intuitive filters. The graphic interface could be "slicker" out of the box. In calender default highlight color is too light in present day. Unless your office demands otherwise, Thunderbird is a better choice.

Good interface and configuration tools. Eliminates your inbox at strange intervals for unknown reasons. "Deleting" a message should send it to the Trash folder per config. Instead, the messages simply disappear. Online support is adhoc and does not appropriately address cause-effect. It is generally agreed that a good piece of software should effect state transitions deterministically rather than probabilistically ... not this one.

There arn't any I tried, for hours, I couldn't set up my account, I also tried other versions, didn't work. Sure it would be better, if it worked

Fast, lots of useful features (e.g. filters, tags), handles all the accounts I've asked it to with no problems. Archive keeps filling up after deletion. Generally very good indeed and a great help if you run several e-mail accounts.

Looks nice and promises allot, probably good for new users, but... Good for newcomers, no good for Outlook Express users with multiple folders and email accounts. The program needs still to be worked on. I wished finally to get rid of Outlook Express by using Thunderbird and transfered my Outlook files on to it. The result was that many files had as date the year 2100 or 2360... and the transfer stopped at files dated June 2009... nothing from later dates. So I had to uninstall Thunderbird waiting for its upgrade. Don't understand the editor's waving revue...

It's not MSCalendar integration (via Lightning) More bloat with every new release - are you actually trying to copy MS?Stupid "features" that no one will ever useDisabled all but my junk folder, with no way to recover I am a long-time TB user (5+ years), but the latest release (3.x) has me thinking seriously about alternatives. The new "tabs" are just an unnecessary complication, but the real problem came today, after using it for about a week. Suddenly, the only folder I could see was my junk folder, and there were no arrows to go back, no useful help in the forum (several people apparently had similar problems, but no solutions posted). I tried view/folders/all, but it did not help. I finally had to uninistall and reinstall TB to get back my missing folders. This is just unacceptable, particularly since I did nothing intentional to make it happen. This kind of behavior would NEVER be desirable, so it should not even be possible to get into this fix, but given that it is, the programmers should certainly make it easier to fix.

It is free. You can save all emails with no limitations. Not recognized as a default mail server so I cannot just click on "send mail" in applications. I have several computers and I used to use Microsoft Outlook. But I cannot afford to put outlook on each computer and MS makes you pay for each installation. I was installing Outlook from Office 2000 (which did not have the limitation) but now Windows 7 doesn't except that. Also MS did away with Outlook Express. So now I use Thunderbird and I am more than happy. There are a few features I would like if they made them portable so that I don't have to reload into each computer (contact list, junk filter, account info). But I am happy it works well so that I don't have to mess with Outlook again.

I like everything about the operation of thunder bird. It is easy to use and set up. Every since Mozilla release the 3.0 version. I have had trouble with Thunderbird freezing up. You have to restart Thunderbird in order to read your mail. I normally keep my mail program open and it will freeze at least once an hour. Bottom line, until the freezing is fix. I won't be using it. Even though I love the older version of Thunderbird.
