doPDF 7.1.351

doPDF by Softland Screenshot doPDF Screenshot

doPDF installs itself as a virtual printer driver so after a successful installation will appear in your Printers and Faxes list. To create PDF files, you just have to print your documents to the doPDF pdf converter. Open a document (with Microsoft Word, WordPad, NotePad or any other software), choose Print and select doPDF. It will ask you where to save the PDF file and when finished, the PDF file will be automatically opened in your default PDF viewer.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do and the output file when high res photos are included in the original document has a quite reasonable small size. no problems Great

It produced a pdf file 1/5 the size of primo.pdf. When I printed form a pdf created by primo, it still saved 80% of the size Printing from Word 2007 it destroyed my company logo. Printing from Acrobat reader, from a pdf created by Primo.pdf, it left the logo but a text field overlaying a picture received a black background (instead of transparent) obscuring the picture. Can't use it if it damages my graphics.

Printing emails to the dlPDF `printer`` works like a charm - and is very quick. A great little tool If you are upgrading, be sure to remove the old copy first. I didn`t and it locked up my computer until I forced it to shut off; then removed the old copy and only then did the new install work.

No banner adds or junk on the desktop. Saves and converts my prints without a problem. No cons that I can think of. Great free software.

Quick and accurate. Previously I used a GhostView/Script, which was kludgy, not accurate colors. This was much better My two page document wouldnt get less than 17Megs! Previously I could get it to .5 meg and it would look good enough to print. Not with this! If I pay to upgrade it would probably work fine. Great evaluation program that makes you want to buy it, reasonably priced. But not free and not for me. Im still shopping.

Easy to use, easy to configure, free. Sometimes botches print of .pdf's with graphics or non-ocr content. Has happened only a few times, and I use it almost everyday. Could do a better job on remembering where you saved certain files. Good tool for your PC toolbox.

Versions 6-2-296 all the way to this latest version have a problem with some fonts, one such that seems very obvious on Windows XP 32 bit is the "Modern" font. Open Office 3.2.1 Writer built-in PDF export does a much better job, and is also more space efficient. It's still a decent program, but version 6 is still leaner without any adware type of clutter on the interface than version 7. Version 6-2-296 does properly process the "Marlett" font in terms of spacing, whereas none of the version 7 series does not. Version 6-2-296 files may be larger than version 7 releases, but it works correctly more often than those smaller version 7 releases. I'd recommend trying both and comparing the end results yourself when embedding fonts.

Simple, easy to use and quick to set up. Multi-page documents like to print each page in a separate .PDF file.
