doPDF installs itself as a virtual printer driver so after a successful installation will appear in your Printers and Faxes list. To create PDF files, you just have to print your documents to the doPDF pdf converter. Open a document (with Microsoft Word, WordPad, NotePad or any other software), choose Print and select doPDF. It will ask you where to save the PDF file and when finished, the PDF file will be automatically opened in your default PDF viewer.

"Great alternative to expensive Adobe Acrobat" Does everything it should do without any cons that I'm aware of. I use Adobe Acrobat at work, this app at home. I'm not aware of any. You can't go wrong with doPDF. I've tried several free .PDF generation apps but this is the best one!

"Much better than Acrobat" 1. Non-invasive (unlike Acrobat)2. Can overcome some copy protection schemes, including DRM Nothing I can think of A truly great piece of shareware.

All text, tables and formatting styles seem correct Some embedded photos were corrupted Very fast and 'fairly' easy to use (could be a little easier if integrated with windows explorer) Updated on Mar 27, 2010 My mistake: This program did not cause any errors when converting my photos in the word doc -- they were already corrupted in the word doc before conversion.

Using this software is as easy as it gets. Simply navigate to the file you want to convert to .pdf and press the CONVERT button. It has two flaws which are deal killers. I like the simplicity of the application, but had to uninstall it due to these major annoyances. There are two issues which make this application pretty limiting, and most annoying. First the limitation. There is no way to customize anything. So, it often truncates part of your image. e.g. I converted an 8 x 4 document (landscape). I got everything from top to bottomn, but it chopped off about an inch either side. Second, the annoyance--and this is REALLY annoying! Every time you use it, it changes your default printer driver to the Dopdf driver! Unbelievable! So, you save time converting your document because this is a quick and dirty converter, but then you more than lose out because you have to go into the Control Panel to set your default printer back to where you need it. I can't believe that they think anyone would use their little application so frequently that they want their driver to be the default. Further..I'm sure we all know users who don't know how to reset their default printer! This is definitely two thumbs down.

This doPDF create big pdf file but, I still prefer choosing it. I think it embeds every font when editing a document, and sometimes I get a plain text file up to 30MB! I found create pdf file once more with doPDF in any pdf reader, the file size squeezed to only 60KB. It would be a little annoying so I choose 4 stars.

Quick, simple, fairly accurate most times Any basic reformatting features before converting would be nice Almost any software on your pc that has a print function this little program can be used to convert it into a pdf. Not always perfect but usually gets the job done and still look decently professional most times. That said, it is worth noting that there are cropping issues. Anything with lengthy columns will end up on two pages. There's no real formatting capabilities before converting, so it's either hit or miss. The more complicated a page is in converting like a say a webpage don't expect perfection but it can still be impressive. For me it works fine for what I need it for to make documents simple for reading and printing off for personal use.

Very speedy pdf creation. Very intuitive. Most used options are on the main windows that open for you. Most important, I have been using this for close to a year and have not experienced any stability issues whatsoever. I would not really call this a con, but basic PC users have to be trained to not try to "Save as" but to print the document to convert it. The interface is extremely intuitive giving you the chance to change the name and the directory that it will be saved in. I like that it has an optional checkbox to see the document immediately in your PDF reader. Very impressed by the speed at which it creates the pdf documents which is much faster than using Acrobat. I use it when I am paying bills and want to keep a soft copy of the page with the transaction number in it. It will look exactly the same.

You might not like 'em, but sooner or later, you'll need to send a .pdf file. This is the easiest means possible. With a solution this simple, I guess .pdfs will be around for a while. I suppose you could go to the trouble of learning about .pdfs, understanding them, etc., but you sure don't have to anymore. This little program installs like a printer - simply and quickly. Need a .pdf? Just select doPDF from your list of printers, click "Print" and it's there.

None that I could find. Apparently I do not have the skills to figure this damn thing out. It kept wanting some other printer and was just plain annoying. I ended up just deleting the whole program. Definitely not user friendly.

Easy installation and user-friendly. Option shows in printer options. Compatible with Win7. No cons yet. I have only been using it for a week. I have occasion to save documents and online info in ,pdf format. This program allows me to do that neat and simple. End of story.
