AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software. It is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.Decryption is not all that AnyDVD offers. You can control the drive speed of your DVD drive, allowing you to reduce the noise level when watching movies on your PC. You can even adjust the display frequency of your monitor for both NTSC and PAL displays. It also decrypts protected audio CDs to allow you to copy them.

I'm not a sliysoft fanatic, just a user that is extremely happy with the existence of AnyDVD HD. I'm not urged to give this great app 1 star only because I cannot find a working crack for it *catchpole*.

This beta supports a bunch of the newer BD+ discs which is nice. Great work by the developers. hackztor, you can still buy a lifetime license and if you were an existing license owner before the change to different licensing options you have a lifetime license. They used to just offer lifetime licenses. Now you can select from 5 different options and the lifetime choice remains. Great product for any HTPC owner or anyone who just wants to enjoy their movie collection even more.

Amazing program that does what it is made to do. Only one that I know of that works this great in addition to doing blueray and hddvd. Only downside to it is the change of licensing where its not forever now.

People who purchased should have read the website. It was clearly explained that UPDATES not UPGRADES were provided with your lifetime license. This includes going from 5.x to 6.x. AnyDVD 5.x can be UPDATED to AnyDVD 6.x for free. However, you cannot UPGRADE from AnyDVD to AnyDVD HD for free. They made this very clear on their website, in their FAQ and in various other places on the website. If the customer failed to read and research what they were purchasing, that is your own fault. Slysoft has yet to violate their licensing terms from AnYDVD. Not all users required the HD UPGRADE so they made it an optional add-on with an additional cost since additional time and money had to go into cracking the NEW products (HD Discs). This is the ONLY PRODUCT which handles BRD at any sort of reasonable level. Customers of other products are paying for the PROMISE of future support of BRD and it's other DRM techniques. Other products cannot compare to the level with which AnyDVD and AnyDVD HD operate. It functions flawlessly and removes EVERY current protection including BRD+ which no other product can touch. 5/5 for a fantastic product which works well and does its job.

Remember - these "Lifetime" purchases - which cost $109 Euro (just under $155 USD) are for upDATES not upGRADES. With Slysoft, lifetime means something completely different than one might experience elsewhere. There should be no reason why one should have to purchase a second "Lifetime" license when they have already shelled out the money for the first "Lifteime" license. Licensing is one of the legitimate criteria from which a company can be judged, and Slysoft certainly does not deserve even remotely high marks in that regard.

So, if AnyDVD were alone in the field, it would rate more highly? And the moment some dork releases a freeware turd that sorta, kinda, well not really does something similar, AnyDVD suddenly deserves a lower rating? Wow, I've got a lot of reviews to update... Judge software by how well it works. Figuring in "value" is nonsense because it varies not only by person, but even to the same person as their circumstances change. It's so senseless to think that AnyDVD should (for example) get a 3 one day, and then the next day, after you get a nice raise at work, it suddenly deserves a 5.

Licensing is one concern, but so is the staggering cost of the product. As long as there are lower cost and in some cases free alternatives, I don't see how it is possible to give them high marks for value either. In answer to a question, if there were no realistic alternatives that were lower in cost or in fact free, then the argument points currently made when discussing Value might be hard to justify. I disagree strongly that Value should not be considered. Value is essential in every major area in our lives. People price cars to determine value. Homes, groceries, gasoline, etc. PRICE matters. Newegg.com, Costco, Walmart - it's all about getting the most bang for your buck. People spend hours and hours looking for the best deals before they go buy something. Why should software be any different at all? I don't believe it should. Comparing the cost of one DVD ripping program to another is certainly fair game. It's not about how much one person makes. You don't raise the score because you make more money. But it IS about comparing the cost of Program A to Programs B, C and D. We can simply agree to disagree on that one, I guess. It's the civil thing to do.

With this update Slysoft now has the only software that handles both BD+ and MKB 14 meaning virtually every single Blu-Ray is supported. No one else has managed to get BD+ under control and it's been awhile now. This new AnyDVD update works exactly as advertised.

It looks like Slysoft is looking for more money, but highering version numbers with every line of code they change, to make us licensed customers pay ONCE MORE when they reach another milestone version.... -3 = 2

emanresU deriseD, everyone has their right to say what they want.

Catchpole, I know everyone has the right to say (pretty much) what they want. Did I say otherwise? No, I didn't. I merely stated my opinion. You know, as I have a right to. Actually, you don't have a right to say literally whatever you want. There is such things as libel and slander, and it's not within your rights to make up stories just to slam a company. I'm not saying anyone here has done that. As for the software (remember that?): Yet another update to the only viable product in the genre.

Excellent program! When used with IMGBurn, you can make perfect copies of DVDs with the original layer break. Very expensive, but works flawlessly.

Eh, I've never had to pay again for any new version. I've had a license for almost 3 years. Every version has worked great for me and looking forward to this one!

rickbtx, That's because no matter how many reviews you write, the rating only counts once. AnyDVD coupled with IMGBurn yields DVD9 copies with the original layer break. No muss, no fuss. Just configure IMGBurn to use the ElbyCDIO interface under the I/O settings. Using DVDDecrypter works, too. Just turn off DVDDecrypter's built in decryption and protection removal features to rip MPEG2 streams from DVDs (IFO mode).

The links in the post below are spam. They're from a company called Daniusoft that publishes no postal address or phone number and which charges $35+ a piece for rubbish software that doesn't work. There's more information here on how the Daniusoft scam operates: http://oncallnerd.com/blog-spam-hunt/
