The latest version is free and truly good, has proactive HIPS protection and is among the lightest in terms of resource use. Lots of other nifty features makes this a hard to ignore AV.

LOL, WOW, and to think. My AV/AS only costed me $10 dollors. Still, call me stupid. I dumped a two year subscription, for an annual sub.. Shoot, I seen better then this, ran better to. Yo people, if you wanna waiste money on an AV. Look in to Avast!. It's a fast, reliable, and well worth the dough. Of course the best av's are free.

Easy to use, lost of settings to customise or you can use defaults. Found more viruses and trojan than one of the top free antiviruses I have used are there any? download it and you will be suprised at how effective it is

For while, 25 Megabytes in memory with Firewall included are best perfomance. In one of both own notebooks detect a virus that Nod32 not, is proactive, it updates are intelligent and Windows not decrement speed. I use Ad-Muncher, I use MailWasher, I use Pocomail, I use Firefox, I desactivate the Security Center and Firewall of Windows, deleting IExplorer and Outlook Express , no use wav agenda and the updates of windows are in manual, it show me when the actualizations are and I dicide if update or not. With all that , and with a litle warning in internet my live with the viruses , troyans and spywares are not a crashing for month. Thats are good. Rising is chinese, is simple, is good and the heuristic are apropiade. Kaspersky are the best but... with Kaspersky I secure and my pc are unusable, sorry Kaspersky, for while, Rising Security are great for me

"Crapware pure and simple" None This product is worthless. Low detection rate, heavy resource usage. If you really don't care about your data and wish to have it destroyed, this product is for you. Brought to you by the folks that brought you melamine in your food source and lead in your child's toys.

"A real rising from Rising Software" It detects a wide rang of viruses, and the powerful ActiveDefense & Auto-Protect features are effective by providing real-time protection with system monitor, file monitor, Email monitor, OS & registry protection. It also has automatic updates. Actually nothing important, just registry protection alerts sometimes can be annoying (repeated alerts). I recommend this program for the user who wants to have a high level of protection without having troubles like system resources consuming or disability to resolve serious attacks, that i experienced before.

Pleasing interface, low resource consumption Plenty of options for more/less thorough scans Active protection (seriously, too much to list) Updates come often enough, could be better Too many avenues of protection, but very little depth to the protection. It seems they drag in those who won't do their homework to find that it has performed rather poorly in many virus lab tests (often very near last place). Like I said, too many types of protection, but the protection is thin as air. Picked up a false positive on my first scan with it (Version 21.46.14), scan hung up at around the one hour mark for thirty minutes or so before it picked back up. False positive ended up being a file from Stardock's ObjectDock program which terminated the Mac-like taskbar the program places on your computer. I feel safer with Microsoft Forefront (from my school) which has been certified by a number of virus labs to be sufficient. Rising has yet to make an appearance on such a list, perhaps the lackluster protection and ungodly long scan times (even for low security--faster-- scans) had something to do with that. This AV is probably best suited to checking single files for viruses, however, you can get an arsenal of AV detectors for free on a number of sites to check individual files for you that you upload, this one included, so why waste the disk space. If 'free' is for you, then stick with AVG, avast!, and AVIRA, this one just doesn't have enough muscle behind it to keep your computer safe. Not to mention, this AV conflicts with the internet protection from AVG8. Like many spyware programs, RAV will warn you of changes in the registry. Unlike most other programs, RAV will continually ask you to allow the change (sometimes, not every time) even if you hit for the software to 'remember' your decision. Some memory, huh? Let's see how the uninstall goes... Updated on Jul 7, 2009 No real issues with uninstall, simply restarted, ran regedit and deleted all traces of the softwa

"Better than any of the other free antivirus software!!" The lay out is simple and direct and it is informative on what is being done on any sector of the pc. It found several virus that my Panda AnVi didn't find. Also WinXP Pro reconizes it! It does run a little slow.

The sound scheme it uses, when killing viruses! Sometimes, when installing a programs or plugging some (u.s.b) jump drives it shows the grant access message to many times, even if you click on the check boxes that says: "do not show this again". It always protects your registry from being modified, which means if your registry can't be changed, virus don't stand a chance access your PC. When Installing a program or when plugging a (u.s.b) jump drive you need to be there in case of what Rising will not give access to it. I also like: the start up scan & the jump drives Auto run clean & the clean features too instead of deleting everything. Since I have rising installed on my PC i can say that i never have viruses, because i use to scan stuff first with It and scan them with other Anti-viruses on other PC, they never have the chance to find some on it. And when i do the opposite i use to find some viruses. I recommend it! really!

"Nice Logo, Poor Product and Product Support" Looks nice. Cheaper than most, that is what suckered me in. Has many problems with Windows 7. I spend more time tweeking the program than I do anything else. I have had free virus protection that works smoother than this product. Stick with a state side company for a better product and support. I guess I got what I paid for.

Better detection than norton Slows down IE.

Rated 50/50 by Quantum6 at Jul 20, 2010

Found Trojans other well known Antivirus programs missed. I will be keeping this one, Does not slow firefox when browsing. This should be up there with AVG and Avast and I have used them in the past, never again now I have found this gem. Update can take a while but this is a minor complaint to how well this scans. You wont go wrong with this download it now.

I can't think of anything. I clicked on "Start", and it it didn't do anything. No scanning, nothing. I clicked on other features to see if there was something else I was supposed to do, but no, there wasn't. The program didn't run, didn't do what it's supposed to. Not sure if it just doesn't work on XP or doesn't work at all, but this anti-virus program just didn't do anything at all. Guess I'm going back to the memory-hogging AVG or buggy Avira or Avast. Not happy about it, but there's no choice.
