"SIMPLE - No need to buy and burn DVDs. - BRILLIANT!!!" Its just easy - adds a right-mouse click to mount any ISO file, among other extensions. no waiting - immediate access to the files, then just run it as if it were a DVD, except without the waiting. Couldn't be better, or easier. The only con is that this is not pre-installed on Windows systems - its a utility that every PC should have. PERFECT - which explains the 5 start rating from CNET. Well done!

Does precisely what it's supposed to do. (I can't believe this class of product is not better-known.) No need to pay for something like WinMount (which should also be better-known.) Looks/feels like a freeware product, i.e. there isn't much attention paid to "polishing" the UI. For example, you can't right-click the tray icon for a menu. Looks kind of 1995-ish. Really not much of a "con" but this section is called "Cons:" so... If you need to copy the contents of DVDs or hard drives that contain a LOT of files, it is HIGHLY advantageous to compile them into an archive first, then mount the archive as a folder. You gain a bunch of advantages, including: Archives take WAYYYY less time to copy from one drive to another when there are 1000's of files. You gain the ability to verify the integrity of the archive. You could do a checksum on ALL the little files in a folder, but that takes FOREVER. This way, you're only verifying a single archive. Plus most archives can self-verify, obviating the need to use an external MD5 or SFV generator. You can also write-protect the contents of the "virtual folder" easily, as well as grant various permissions. This something that normally takes a bit of effort to perform within the Windows filesystem.

"It didn't do what it said it would do." I have nothing good to say. It doesn't work. I downloaded this program in order to be able to use a .daa image file, but the program did absolutely nothing for me. Thanks for nothing!

"Saves time and money" It's quick, easy and free. What more do you want. There are non for the function I use it for. I've only used it to view .ISO files B4 burning. Any problems will be shown up thus saving you the time and money producing a crap, non functional DVD.

"Does What it says!" Easy to use, and no filler. Cnet, if we have nothing to say, why make us say anything at all?

Simple, Easy to use, Effective and FREE! None that I know of. I needed a way to password protect folders on my home network. I have a mix of Windows 7 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit on my 3 networked computers. Pismo works on all of my machines and works well on folders shared on the network. Keeps guests in my home from snooping in my personal files.

Contained no viruses or malware Installation failed. Told me to get the latest version, which was what I had downloaded, both from here and their website. It's useless when it won't install.

Easy installation, Windows integration, choice of mounting options. Mounted everything I've thrown at it. Easy to choose how to mount ISO files... What's not to like?

Tiny resources footprint. Works as described for ISO and ZIP file formats (I did not test other formats). Simple to use. Does not use up drive letters. Caused BSoD crash on XP at end of installation (though the system and program both seem to work fine after a reboot). Highly limited number of supported file format types (won't work with RAR or 7Z files for example). I picked up this program to mount ACHD DVD ISO image files (something my usual virtual drive software, Virtual CloneDrive, does not do, because of the HD format). Installation went perfectly smoothly right up until the end. When the installation finished and the installer came up to its last page (with a close/finish button), my system crashed with a Blue Screen of Death error (I'm running Windows XP). I was hoping, since it was at the end of the installation process, that the program would have been successfully installed, despite the crash, and I am pleased to say that is, in fact, the case.I have not tried out all features of the program, but it does very quickly and easily mount ISO and ZIP files as a file folder (not a drive) in it's original location. For someone like myself running multiple hard drive partitions and virtual drives simultaneously, having this program not use up any more drive letters is a great feature.Once mounted, the file/image can be explored as though it were a normal file folder on the hard drive, and the contents can be accessed freely by any program that has the capability of exploring or opening files. Files can also be mounted as read-only or read/write, and presumably if allowed write access, you could change the contents of the archive/image, though I haven't tested this.Right-Click context menus are installed to allow you to mount and unmount files, and mounted files have their icon changed into a file folder icon with a big blue arrow on the right side of the icon (very easy to recognize). This newly accessible folder can be navigated as any normal folder in the file

I use Pismo to occasionally mount ISO files. It works as smoothly as opening any file. None that I can think of Quite simply, it works smoothly. The way one expects a program to work.

For me just that it worked for what I hoped to do. I had a movie file which would not play since it was incomplete. So using this tool, I was able to somehow mount the file (whatever that means) and play it. I am a novice and so I guessed at how to use it. Not sure exactly if any cons. Hey, it worked for me.

Well integrated into the right-click context menu offering 2 choices: Quick mount for everyday usage and Mount to select advanced features. Its very practical and environment friendly since it lets you access the content without burning it first. Not discovered yet.
