"Works Great with Droid!" Ease of use. Lyrics. Ui is like itunes None as of yet. Works as well with my Droid and Itunes does with my Ipod. Same concept and basically the same look. Highly recommend.

Works with practically all music players. Works with LINUX! Works with network drives. Nice UI S.. L.. O.. W.. If you have a big library, be prepared to wait. Lays out music on the device the same way iTunes does (i.e., unintuitive). Cannot seek-and-destroy duplicates (great feature in iTunes). This can truly be de-facto standard in music manager software. It runs on Linux, Mac and Windows so you're truly free to choose any (or all) platforms. It looks great and supports all music formats. Songbird for music, VLC for video... ahhh! Paradise. :-)

"Works Good" It is easy to use. The organizing and search reminds of the J.Rivers Jukebox 12, but in my comp it seems to run faster than Jukebox 12. Non as of yet. It is just a good program and I'd refer it to all my friends.

Like firefox, it supports tons of extras/add-ons, which means, you can customize songbird according to your preferences. It's possible to syncronize other devices such as an MP3. It's pretty flexible, enables you to do a lot of stuff at the same time Depending on which add-ons you have installed it might crash sometimes, but nothing serious.(This last one only apllies to old computers) It uses a bit more of RAM memory than your regular media player Like everything, it has its pros and cons, but in general, it's a very nice piece of software, I recommend that you give it a try. Plus, I believe that the minor issues such as crashing, will be solved in the next updates.

- Nice looking UI- Simpler and easier to use than iTunes- some neat addons - Even at the installation process, I was told that it was not compatible with Windows 7, even though the it's supposed to be.- Crashes after about 15 minutes.- Just like iTunes, includes media automatically even if you don't want it to. I have used Songbird in XP and I liked it a lot compared with iTunes, so I am disappointed that it did not work properly with Windows 7. However, I will hold out for a little while longer as I am sure an update will be released very soon to sort out the issues. And it did exactly what iTunes did when first installed and scanned all the media on my internal and external hard drives and included these in the library. My external hard drive is a backup devise for the media on my internal devise, so I do not need this data to be included. The result being all the music was duplicated and the only way to resolve it is to clear the library and then reconfigure the settings manually and start again. What a pain!

1. Plug-ins - "Scrobble" with Last.fm(My Favorite) and a few other useful plugins.2. Built in fully usable browser for seamless plugin use.3. Similar interface, but simpler, to Itunes 1. Did not work with Windows 7 (I'm using a "Nightly Build")2. Slow start-up3. No Podcasts...at all. This is a great media player. Simple, clean, and resourceful. My Favorite feature was the Last.fm Plugin that allows me to listen to my stations. There is also a Music Store Plgin, and an Event Plugin that quickly discovers when the artists in your library are coming to your area and when they're releasing a new album. Another cool feature is a full, tabbed browser that allows you to check the Songbird website for new downloads and plugins. The browser also allows the plugins to work without a problem. This is a fun media player that has great potential for becoming a major competitor once it irons out the wrinkles and offers a few more features like podcasts and different appearances.

- Excellent Plug-ins and Add-ons - Last.FM Scrobbling - Lyrics/Media Information - Exceptional UI - Fantastic for large media libraries. - Auto adds/removes Media (Folder Monitoring) - NO CD BURNING/RIPPING - Some speed issues with ext hd's Songbird is my de-facto music management software. I have used all of the main software packages; I-Tunes, Media Monkey, J-River, etc. I have found that overall Songbird is by far the most comprehensive and includes some excellent addon's and features. I would really like to see a CD Burning/Ripping option created and I'd also like to see the speed increase for searching large libraries for specific songs. Overall...this is a fantastic media player and can only get better.

Nice application. Not supported with all features on Windows 7

Rated 30/50 by shaunk37 at Jun 14, 2010

Plenty of add ons, looks nice too. The greatest thing about songbird is the customization and the way the player manages your music. Slow, and very laggy if you have a lot of music. i had about 180 songs before the player reached a standstill. I went for Songbird because iTunes was slow and took a whole lot of space to install, plus it slowed down the system. Songbird so far hasn't been much different, but if you're looking for a player that you like to customize and tweak, Songbird is for you. If you're not, just forget it.

That's why it's called a beta.

Rated 40/50 by KevMaverick at Jun 17, 2010

Handles large collections well. Many great addons.Fully customisable. Crashes without warning when encountering a corrupt mp3 file. Overall, a pretty decent program, considering it's free.Well laid out and appealing, and works great with large collections. Not yet an iTunes beater, but nonetheless, a worthy alternative. One point: I'm still not sure about the need to integrate a browser!

Rated 40/50 by Erik_Ch at Jun 26, 2010

The integration with these web services: songkick to get tickets, allmusic to get new album releases and 7ditial music store.Play video (wmv,MP4,ogg(Theora) ) - itunes only play MP4 Miss features like visualization, presset, now playing like windows media player, dj party like itunes, simple skin like winamp classic, and play DVD.This program need be more fast than the other players to become more interesting. This program is on the way to become the best media player.Only need more features.

Nice interface, skinnable and add-on-able exactly like firefox. Inbuilt browser (mozilla). Good sound quality (little below average for me since i've been using foobar for a long time). cant associate your filetypes with this program as windows default file browser add-on wont play file on double-click,u hav to drag-n-drop them to a playlist. equalizer response is funny, unpredictable.sounds bit too 'echo'-ish.audiophiles stay out. -its open-source, and will only get better with time(hope so, and i still miss amarok 1.4). -beautiful interface (default skin is ugly, get chromibird skin from their website). -good sound quality for casual listeners (and powerful 2.1 speakers). -clean installation (plz dont let i-tunes into your windows system. you will never b able to remove the 'bonjour' **** from your services without brute force and windows-crash). -inbuilt mozilla browser scores 74 in acid3 test, FIY for still-IE6-users.
