Thanks for the changelog Artem This is one of the few apps that when I see an update it puts a smile on my face because I feel no need to test and investigate the release for any regressions or bugs, I simply don't come across them and that is a rare thing.

An excellent audio player (and much more than that). 1.0.3 changelog: * Fixed incorrect behaviors with both “cursor follows playback” and “playback follows cursor” enabled. * Improved compatibility with dodgy ASX files written by Windows Media Player. * Fixed notification area icon minimize bugs (again). * Fixed problems with encoding very long audio streams to Vorbis. * Fixed a very rare crash when using the Media Library preferences page. *Various other maintenance updates and bug fixes.

customizable, plays any audio file, Rips and burns and sounds great! Converts too! No cons here, freeware that works without all the spyware and resource hogging. Brilliant! try it out...No longer supports windows2000 but xp onwards is fine.

A once great media player has now become a pile of ugly mess due to the crap interface "layouts"

It has everything I wanted and not a thing I didn't. Haven't been able to say that about winamp in years. I've been using this for about an hour now, and I'm in love. I just wanted something to listen to music on my PC, I don't want to buy anything, i don't want to know about new TV shows... Foobar 2000 delivers. A great music playing program with lots of options so you can listen to your music how you want to. No bloatware, no garbage.

took all of 2 minutes to load with no problems, least for Vista. Sounds better than WMP 11 with an add-on synthesizer. As long as you don't want the pretty album covers and your music jumbled beyond repair, I highly recommend it. trying to think of one, coming up empty Listen to these other 5-stars, they know what they're talking about. They'd be well withing their right to charge for this freeware

Versatile, can be set up in quite a few different ways. Nice equalizer. Hard to set up beyond the basics. This is a fine player, but you better be a computer nerd to figure it out if you want more than just the basics. It seems to me that the developers could have made this more user friendly without creating an overly bloated product.

There is not a day that goes by that I don't bless the author of this superb audio utility for the excellence he has provided us with. The corollary of that is that there isn't a day that goes by that I don't curse that selfsame author for the inexecrable arrogance of taking away user configurable context menus in the player. FOUR stars (FIVE really but that context menu thing seriously burns my butt).

Plays flac files, converts between file types. Plain looking interface, music stutters if I browse or work on my computer.

- Fast- Great plugins- Great playlist management (I hate iTunes type interfaces) - Music can stutter unless you use the ASIO plugin (which works wonderfully) If you are into more hardcore programs, foobar is for you :-)

No nonsense player/converter. I downloaded this to convert flacs for my Ipod. Works great and is a handy player besides. Nothing yet. I've experienced none of the stuttering that others have described. Great product for the price!

I found 1.1 somewhat problematic - for the first time ever, Foobar occasionally crashed on me. I hope 1.1 restores the long cherished stability. Also, I'm not enamored by the loss of pulldowns for conversion settings (it used to remember the last ones used). FOUR stars.

An excellent program in dire need of an interface/usability overhaul.

Rated 50/50 by SuzzyWoozy at Dec 28, 2010

Good player, with a huge supporting comunity, but is too highly overrated imho. Needs a modern interface tough, not necessarily skinned.

Good program but poor choice of name as it is pronounced the same as Fubar which has this definition in the Urban dictionary and is well known: http://www.urbandictiona...m/define.php?term=fubar

After a nuclear holocaust, two species will survive: c***roaches and foobar2000 users. Get it while you still can.
