"Try It, You'll Love It!" It uses almost no ram / cpu, always works, easy to use! The only bad thing about it is that you can't watch videos with it...but there are other programs for that (like vlc)

"Insofar, it is the best player I know" It has a good repertoire if codecs, I can play whatever I want For many people It could be the austerity of the intrface. For me it is OK as it is Actually, it is the only one I use to listen to music. I have eliminated from my computers all other music players.

"Small, effective, to the point. A great app" Easy to work with, makes great playlists. Sounds impressive. Nothing at all. It plays audio files, and that's it.

Finally got around to installing v1.0 (backed up my existing config first, of course) and sure enough, I get the following dialog: The following components are either not installed correctly or no longer supported in this version: foo_amipwrapper.dll, foo_audioscrobbler.dll, foo_discogs.dll, foo_dsp_ssrc.dll, foo_dsp_vlevel.dll, foo_infobox.dll, foo_input_tta.dll, foo_lyricsdb.dll, foo_playlist_bind.dll, foo_prettypop.dll, foo_uie_quicksearch.dll, foo_uie_trackinfomod.dll, foo_uie_vis_projectm.dll. They will be deleted when you click OK. Really? They'll break the program if you keep them there? No thanks. Great music player but I got too much invested in existing plugins and frankly I simply don't have the time to run off looking for updates for plugins I'm already exceedingly happy with. Ship an update checker with the program next time, or include a "cancel, I've changed my mind and I don't want thirteen of my plugins blown away" button. Seacrest out.

"Great media player but limited to playing music." Easy to install and use. Does what is supposed to and very configurable in terms of designing your own interface. Limited to playing music. :( Foobar is great but it could be better if it would be able to play videos. :)

think foobar2000 is pretty idiot, it is really not smart and restricted..

I laugh at those who don't mess with all the gui plugins.

Rated 50/50 by Zarggg at Feb 22, 2010

@dhry: The reason they did that was because they made MAJOR API/plugin changes since the 0.9.x line and the version of those plugins that you had installed WERE confirmed to cause the application to crash. That's why they delete them. Go get updated versions for them. @sld: I believe they want to make torrent distribution the standard for all releases. @roj: Relax. The forums are fine. They just don't like idiots. :p

sld: 1) I also use XMPlay - it does very well against Foobar, which I also use and have for a while now. The Foobar interface remains painfully spartan but the font adjustments are very vision friendly, which sadly matter a very great deal to me now. 2) I lurk, I watch. The results I see speak for themselves. I now rarely participate in forums - it's largely a waste of my time. 3) If you'd taken a wee bit care to notice, I commented on 1.0 Final - not beta. I rarely run beta software (EAC being the notable exception and everyone knows it's a final anyway). At any rate, it's good to see you still around Old Man. :) :) ;)

When it was a nightmare to configure I didn't use it. Now? As a fully functional portable installation it took me literally 30 sec to update and not a single issue whatsoever. I laugh at those who mess with all the gui plugins. Be nice to have a proper plugin updater though (like xmplay ha) At undesire: go play with yourself f**got!

Dear uncle roj, It's been years, and you're still ranting about Foobar2000. 1) It's well-known that you prize exquisite sound with a little bit of aesthetics. Hop over to XMPlay if you have to praise it in the review page of Foobar2000. 2) Why blatantly lie that there's no user-friendliness in Foobar's sub-forum? Let's hope that your foolish outburst doesn't backfire on you. There's certainly a need for less curt responses, but the few bans I've seen were imposed on punk users barging in with unreasonable demands phrased improperly. 3) This version is a BETA. The reason why it's only available on torrent is because it's BETA. Peter has your welfare in mind, he doesn't want you crashing your com (and whining about it) when you install unstable software like Foobar2000 1.01 BETA 1. =)

"Sound is all it needed." Easy , straightforward interface. No cosmetics. 18-band equalizer( Hard work required to get the sweet spot). Sounds better than wmp11, winamp and dozen others on any type of speaker. Crisp and airy. Bass can go really low and deep.Nice icons ;) . No help file. A 'do yourself'-ware. But default configs are good-enough for a novice.Slider-bar is unavailable for .AAC files (unlike vlc, kmplayer, winamp) during playback. Bloat-free, highly customizable. Has everything needed to play a song. An advanced help-file would've been nice addition.

Aww, I have a new friend! Hi, anomoly! Angry much? :)

"Great For Simplicity" Very simple and easy to use interface. Features include audio visualizations, detailed artist and song information, etc. Sound is A+ Doesn't exactly offer much for you if you like scrolling through your music library and clicking on pretty pictures of your favorite albums. :)Its all in the style of one big playlist. I was looking for an alternative to WMP 11 or 12 whichever one I had before. I like this one a lot. Download it if you're really really tired of WMP and WinAmp. Thats all.

"Customizable down to the every button." Customizable down to the every button. None I can think of.

Rated 40/50 by Augusto49 at Mar 7, 2010

"Great Player!!!" Gets the job down flawlessly. Easy to navigate. You can shape the music to your taste with the equalizer and create your own music library without problems. None, the app is great for novices and experienced users alike.

Peter, Thank you for the deadlock of silence. I am speechless

"Light and cutomizable" Requiers few resources to run smoothly and you can customize almost every aspect of it Tagging is useless

Easy access to all your Audio files, and radio streams pop right up and you can even save them so you don't have to visit the radio's site every single time...just open the saved file and stream on peoples! Hard to tell as of yet.
