JavaRa 1.5

JavaRa by Paul McLain Screenshot JavaRa Screenshot

JavaRa will check if your computer has the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If the version you have installed has been superseded by a newer version the program will download and install this newer version for you, by running Java's update program. It then allows you to remove all possible older versions of this program. This will ensure that the security of your computer is enhanced and extra space on your hard disk is created.

I agree with shodan816, JavaRa cleaned Registry entries even Registry cleaners didn't find. Very nice app.

I just used this program and it removed a ton of useless Java files. Not only that, but now IE7 loads properly and the whole damned computer is running faster. I was none too happy when Sun won the battle to exterminate Microsoft Virtual Machine. Sun leaves files scattered all over everywhere, and doesn't seem to have heard of removing the old stuff. No, the Virtual Machine wasn't open source, but it sure was a whole lot more compatible with Windows, and a whole lot smaller and smoother. But JavaRa really did a great cleanup job for me.

JavaRa is not cleaning the Java Installer Cache, which also accumulates as Java is updated.

I use this before installing new versions of the JRE, as well as on client systems because multiple versions of JRE tend to accumulate, this is a great time saver and I'm glad to finally see an update. I agree with the previous user it doesn't remove the installer cache, that is a feature I would like as well.

I wonder about some people! Is there a problem to open the Control Panel and hit the Java Icon to open and look for an update and also set what day/month to look for that update? Is there a problem waiting a couple days for Java to do that itself? Is there a problem using add/remove, Programs and Features to do a complete uninstall of old java? A complete useless program that just adds crap to your system. Make "a use full" program some time and do not post junk b.s. programs that do not come with a uninstaller!

This is the old version of 1.15. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. I wonder what is new, as change log is missing too.

JavaRa is a simple tool that does a simple job: it removes old and redundant versions of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). if You don't know what does it mean, You shouldn't write a review here. JavaRa removes OLD versions of java, cleans up a lot of java stuff downloaded from sites. This is the only one utility who knows how to do that. There is no need for installer, it doesn't require one. It's so small that giving here an installer is a waste of space.

This works. Much better than Java's checker running in the background, simple to use, and just the right features. Been using it for a long time.
