*improvelence* There is just no way you tested this browser. Verry good build!
Rated 10/50 by improvelence at Mar 18, 2008
Aside from it having no decent plugins, it's horrendously ugly and incompatible. It's also slowly ripping off of firefox every chance it gets. IE7 is better than this junk.

I usually update over the top of my Opera installation with each new build but based on a comment I saw on the Desktop Team blog I installed this one separately: this resulted in a noticeable increase in speed and overall responsiveness, not just in browsing but in tab and menu behaviour, too. Not sure if this was due to revised coding or simply the fresh install but I'm very happy with this new build. FF Beta 4 is fast but this build feels on a par with it now. Would love to see the tests done again. Oh, and I have it as 77/100 on ACID 3. Inline find is fixed, but several other known isues are still present. Still a ways to go, then, but I still count this as making good progress.

With this latest beta 78/100 in acid 3 test! Highest score so far

This is the best browser and the fastest one around, BUT if they won't open up and allow people to write plugins for it I'm afraid I'm gonna leave opera for good. Because there are plugins for many applications and devices that can be integrated with FireFox, but not Opera. Opera, cmon, open your mind and start opening up!

The very best. I wish they did pay us, poor ex- engineer here!

Best browser EVER!!!!!! Won't display some websites / protocols / common plugins... but hey, that's just a minor problem / not the browser's fault. Yah, right.................

Fast and reliable. Better than previous versions. It allows downloads to go on even when you close Opera. Tried on different OS, it works even on Win98. I love it.

From the developer blog: "Save As for a web page only lets you save as "HTML file" on Windows." I sure wish Opera would fix this for the beta. I use this capability a lot, and the inability to save as a web archive is preventing me from beta-testing.

Fred-Erik: you missed my point completely. By opening up, I meant releasing an API for developers to write plugins. Nothing else. Best browser ever.
Rated 50/50 by Fred-Erik at Mar 29, 2008
@Diam0nd: indeed, I misunderstood. And I do agree an API would be helpful. Please delete this discussion, by the way.

Only two things holding this back from a perfect score in my eyes. 1) Some forums will simply not have the input box displayed using Opera. I tried changing settings to no avail. 2) The bookmark system is not as easy where it comes to moving the bookmarks or quickly deleting them. Opera does some things better than any other browser, and it seems rather stable. The email system is not pick for the best way to handle the mail, but that is a personal preference, no doubt. I use Firefox for surfing, and forums and Opera for more business type of sites. I use them both. The IE7 is just not cutting it for me.

Web archive single file full working perfectly without any problem I use it continously all time without any problem. Some websites not show perfectly because webmasters optimized for IE or fIrEfox thats mean same. Opera has an very big bug. Opera faster and better then other browsers thogether. Rating: 6 (very high)

Some Firefox fanboys can't stand the fact that they browser eat dust compare to Opera, Opera is the best and the other crap named browser never will defeated this one ;) @horsecharles: you keep in the past baby, change to Opera :D

Fast, good scalable, userfriendly and good customizable + The only browser which is capable of loading images with right menu and scale them with [ctr+mousewheel] like I want. + Saving complete surf sessions and start back there when you want. + You can choose a plenty of very cool and helpful widgets. + You can make use of the speed dial. I don't want to miss this because I used to have it. Very helpful feature. I put 9 homepages there where I am daily. + Build in feedreader, mail-client, chat-client, bittorrent-client and more I don't need IE or FF. I am using Opera for many years and there is no browser that fits better to my needs.

@Horsecharles: If you can't find the will to review the build on offer, kindly refrain from posting your tiresome 'Opera sux' troll-isms. @eaves: So what you're saying is that because ONE feature is broken, you can't review an ENTIRE BROWSER? And that this merits a score of 1 point? Lame. - - - While the DHTML improvements in this build are spectacular, I'm struggling to think of any websites that currently make use of this functionality, reducing this improvement to the level of a technical curiosity rather than a significant real-world User Experience upgrade. While focusing on Web Standards does benefit us all in the long run, there are plenty of improvements that could be made to the browser functionality as well and I'm not sure enough focus is on these areas in this round of development. I also have an issue where downloading files only works if you right-click and 'save as'; clicking the download links in web-pages returns some error about a certain module in Opera not being available. I'll reinstall later and see if that's still present. [UPDATE: PROBLEM STILL EXISTS] I'm still looking forward to Kestrel, though, whenever it deigns to land.

I have to admit that I tried Opera and wasn't impressed in that their are other browsers that can do more. But I thin that Opera passed the acid test and any developer that uses LSD can't be all bad. Remember Kids..."Just say no." unless it's really good then just say"I'll smoke but not inhale".

I have to say, I really like this browser. Best Featue: when you copy text from a web page and past it into your e-mail client, this version of Opera knows to strip out all of the embedded web/HTML instructions and code so when you past, all you get is the text that you were looking to copy and none of the other garbage - by default! Nothing to switch on, no menues to search through. You just have to love that. EVERY other browser needs to copy that one incredible feature. That one, criticially important and highly valuable feature alone vaults this release of Opera to the top of my personal browser rankings above both Avant 11.6 and Maxthon 2.0.x
