get in it for like 5 mins and he'll make you love him. opera is extremely customizable and friendly. i am a firefox fan, but i went with opera, i customized it how i like it and now i forgot about that barely noticable speed that firefox has it no addons... Updated on Apr 23, 2010

Maintains some nice features Buggy and slow, the newest version did not work for me.on W7 64bit I had been using Opera as a third alternative, it has some great features including turbo which made it useful on some occasions. The newest version downloaded but did nothing but balk like a hungry donkey. Enough already I uninstalled. ie8 and FF are so much improved.with speed and features.

Nifty and clean-looking, though it looks a bit like a page from Overstock.com. Slow and confusing. Haven't used it much (only had it about a week), but I find it slow and slightly annoying. Maybe customizing it will help, but out of the box I prefer Chrome for its speed - and low resource use - and Firefox for its endless series of useful (and some admittedly pointless) add-ons (which can slow it up, though).

but some one told me a long time ago crap in one hand and wish in the other and see which one fills up quicker, slender sleek great page load times and the ever famous opera speed dial and customization it is way to damn buggy on most websites they load ok until you go to leave a comment or review some thing then most it doesn't work on, like facebook chat or chat on most websites, not being able to do these simple things make it useless I love opera but im tired of wishing this release will bethe one that works either they fix it or they dont it isnt that hard, chrime does it and in less time so thats were I am at after all these years farewell opera

Speed, lightweight and nice user interface. ..........

Rated 50/50 by karthik_nedunchezhian at Apr 28, 2010

clean interface, has built in mouse gestures, popup blocker, speed dial, smooth scroll, bookmark sync, accelerators and opera unite. On my experience it is better than firefox, in rendering pages, but not as good as chrome. In real world browsing lags behind chrome.

10.53 is already at RC because 10.52 had a critical security issue, on the first day. Of course all browsers have security issues but to have one discovered on the day of release is not just embarrassing but just proves how rushed and sloppy Opera has become with the 10.5x release. I'm a long time supporter and user of Opera, since 3.x; But this 10.5x release is really getting my back up. It is improving albeit slowly. But really, the rush and sloppiness is showing through which is disappointing.

Very impressed with this release, Opera is my default browser now as I feel Opera is faster than Firefiox. Great stuff.

My Chrome stopped working after the MS browser choice update, I'm glad really as this made me try other browsers. Opera is by far the fastest, even faster than Chrome and easy to set up and use. Well done Opera.

Clean interface as always with a built in pop up blocker, but that is nothing new. In regards to the update, I can't say there is anything new that is positive. Slower loading time than the previous Opera. Buggy and it has crashed several times since updating, which was never an issue previously. It cannot hold as many tabs open as previously either. I dislike it because it is no longer as stable as the old opera. This update is terrible and frankly, was not required. I wish I knew how to go back to the old version I had. Stupid auto update. I used to be able to have 15-20 tabs conservatively, at times up to 30 tabs (why did I need that many open? I don't know, but I was able to. Now this is no better than the old Internet Explorer I had that crashed after opening about 5 tabs. I am sorely disappointed by this update because of how much slower it is and how unstable it has become. I will be un-installing Opera and rolling the dice with something else. Do Not update, if you have that option. Otherwise stay clear for first time users, at least until they fix these bugs.

I haven't figured out how to save the tabs in other browsers like it does automatically in Opera... Awesome feature. Auto reload... great! All the other features are also very nice to have. I upgraded from 10.10 to 10.52 and the 'select text' 'right click' and choose 'speak' prompt to download a library file that downloads then never does anything after that. I try again to speak, again prompts to download the file, then nothing. Overall great experience, with a few quirks and IE and/or Firefox specific sites that is has problems with. Maybe I just haven't figured out what the issue with the text to speech problem is yet, but I downgraded to 10.10 and it worked again, then re-upgraded and stopped working again. I tried a google search with no results. I am torn between the new features of 10.52 and getting the nice text to speech back of 10.10.

Fast browsing You can't customise it. And I ca'nt delete any history or cookies I have been using OPERA browser for at least 5 years and I always update, but this latest version 10.52? is the worst browser by far. So I uninstalled it and its time ti find onother browser.

It works - Its fast - And opens all of my sites without problem Non at this time I have tried all of the browsers over the past several years only to be disappointed within a few months if not days. Firefox keeps disappointing with crashes, lock ups, etc. IE - well you all know the story with it. But this version of Opera works extremely well for me. Its a Keeper.

Many features. Opera Unite makes things more fun. It's also faster with the new JavaScript engine. FTP capabilities are more limited than Windows Explorer! An alternative to Safari, Chrome, and Firefox as well as Internet Explorer. Opera Unite makes things more fun, but the applications in Opera Unite themselves don't have extensive features, or well developed for customization, and flexibility, but still functional. However it's still very new feature. Opera FTP doesn't allow you to upload to a FTP space, so you better off using Windows Explorer, or third party FTP program. It's email works well with POP3 accounts.

1. Disappearing mouse pointer when you stop moving the mouse. 2. Cascading tabs and then opening a link from a tab causes parent tab to lose it's toolbar making it impossible to close or drag via the mouse. 3. Typing on the address bar is very laggy 4. Has issues with retaining per site preferences with regards to not accepting cookies, possibly in conjunction with those particular sites being in the speed dial. @darkwzrd1, Not sure by what you mean about me having a hard-on about Opera. The fact is i've been using and supporting Opera since the 90's (yes, payed for version). The difference between myself and people such as yourself is that i truly support it by constructively criticizing it and file bug reports with Opera as opposed to just blindly giving something 5 stars because you like a product regardless of it's faults. Guess what a developer gains from a reports such as yours? Absolutely nothing. Why? Because you just say everything is fine as opposed to pointing out what is wrong and can be improved. And BTW resorting to ad hominem attacks as you have done with others doesn't make you any more right nor does it make your reviews any more valuable to others. It just makes you look like an outraged teenager.

Rated 50/50 by darkwzrd1 at May 4, 2010

@ anonymouscowturd, why do you have such a HARD-ON for Opera? Do you have anything better to do then to complain and b!tch?

Rated 30/50 by dyorke at May 4, 2010

loads fast works good doesn't use flash as well as chrome can't stream Netflix. Crashes on 10.4 Flash Better but has a ways to go before I'd make it my go to browser.

No pros compared to the previous version Wants to take over hotmail link but will not open up.. TOO SLOW.. A snail moves faster that this does in loading.. Would not recommend at this time I had enjoyed Opera up to this time but will uninstall it entirely from computer and go back to Firefox or Safari for Windows..

The built in notepad and the add-in dictionary are useful, you can log in to sites with one click on the key, mouse gestures, good widgets and speed dial. Another good feature is you can reduce wide web pages to normal width (via View menu). Having to go into Opera's menu and set cookies to zero privacy to make it work properly on those stupid sites that won't accept non-IE browsers. Built in email and torrent downloading. Also it lists current cookies in its Tools/Advanced menu, so you can delete any that you think are harmful or slowing you down. I wouldn't swap it for another browser.

Rated 10/50 by ahdunno1 at May 4, 2010

It seems to be quite fast. A number of web sites important to me cannot be opened by Opera. One site appears as a jumble of letters and the other won't open because " another browser is accessing this site... ". No other browser is in use! i have tried to find the answer to these problems; apparently, Opera makes no provision that I can find for help to inexpert users with problems.
