FireFox looks java to me and I don't like java apps on platforms where more advanced languages are available. Opera is WAY faster, WAY more configurable (i really suggest you actually COMPARE the two, u WILL see the difference). Opera > * Can't live without it. Opera - my religion!

I really really like this browser but its unusable without plugins. I need adblock plus, im sorry. maybe opera can work with them for a custom version? 5 with plugins, 3 without.

It's ugly and doesn't use any of the standard key shortcuts that just about every other browser uses. Also unfortunately it isn't support by a large number of Web 2.0 sites. On the upside, it offers the fastest browsing experience. Only reason I even have it installed is for compatibility testing.

Build 9745 is IMHO, the stabler build of 9.50 released after the official beta.

This is an Alpha build if i'm not mistaken. So, i wouldn't push on it too much. They're probably trying to iron out things and in computer related issues, i'm sure there's alot of trial and error testing going on. Take the History Search feature when typing in the url field. Until the previous two versions it was still on. The bookmark sync feature is still glitchy as far as i'm concerned.

I'm an Opera user through and through, so this is not slamming for slamming's sake. This revision will not allow me to download about half the time with a 'cannot find xpcom.dll' error message. I went back to the last beta and looked at the files. There is no xpcom.dll in its build, but no problems with downloads. I used to program, so I know the frustration, but it does seem like there has not been much progress in the last couple of revisions. It's almost as if the author is not keeping a close watch on the revision builds.

Very good. But I wonder why must I keep open the Opera main window to avoid loosing my download. If you use IE or FF you may close the browser and the download keeps going on in the background.

Thats because Opera sticks to 1 window instead of spamming a window for every download. I consider that a good thing..

After a hard days work, there ain't nothin better than kicking back, rippin the head off a crisp cold beer, and then firing up opera. oohhhyeeeh.

I wish I could live wihout it, but I just can't :( Best browser ever. Way faster than java-wannabe called FF. Way more configurable. Love it.

Ian C. shortcut keys are totally configurable at your own.

Opera Beat firefox 2 but is not going to beat Firefox 3, Firefox 3 has blazing speed which will be even faster in the final version, no memory leaks like Firefox 2 and the list goes on.

Since when is FF Java based? lol Firefox is the best, think of the add ons only, think of the bookmark tab... and much more.

Yahoo! mail doesn't seem to work, but then again it never really has in Opera, mostly because Yahoo! produces lame code. Slashdot works fine Dragging links from Digg.com onto the desktop worked first time around but not again after that. Infact dragging links in general seems problematic with some websites causing the cursor to end up selecting text instead. Still cannot drag a link directly into a folder. Also seems to hang waiting for for more things to come down the pipe with some web sites. I really want this to kick ffx3's a** but right now i don't see it doing that. @horsecharles. Despite you ranting and raving about others i don't see a review from yourself. Only critisism for others' reviews. So how about reviewing the software? Did you try it? As for Yahoo! if you knew what you were talking about you would have realised that on several occasions Opera have had to inform Yahoo! of non compliant javascript and HTML. And yes, Yahoo! does try its best to discourage Opera users. It is well known that they are a pro MS company.

4 point for Opera, 5 point for FF. Opera can be an alternative for FF at the moment. let's see what will be happen in the next versions !

Excellent browser & well supported . Only flaw IMO is the popup blocker , it could be improved a lot

Works really well, nice and fast. Not really had any issues with any sites not rendering with this browser recently. Perhaps web developers are using correct web standards at last!
