@nms04, As Opera is one of the most standards compliant browsers around I would hazard a guess that the fault lies with the MySpace site developers. To dock Opera a point because of this proves that you are clueless when it come to the web. (That fact that you use MySpace at all also gives this away.)

We appreciate the time given by the Opera users to always be here posting such riveting, detailed and thoughtful reviews of their browser. The dedication of these fine fellows having to find something interesting to say every single bloomin' day is impressive. I am still trying get the latest incarnation to work as well as the browser did in days long gone, that would be version 9.24. Now that was a browser to crow about this feeble effort is just that, feeble.

Simply adore this browser. FF might have pluging, and that's great and all. But Opera is WAY faster, doesn't look like it's written on java, and has MOST of the things I need by default. Still though: what matters for me is the speed.

After doing a clean install Opera (to a fresh installation of windows that had never seen Opera nor any other non-Windows included software) there is still a major freeze for 20+ seconds when I go to very large web pages (about 20 taps of PAGE DOWN to get from top to bottom). This freeze does not happen with FireFox3, but does happen with IE7 (alas, IE7 is even worse). Maybe a future release can fix this issue. I am still peeved at other "changes" Opera made, especialy on the keyboard navigation. Here's hoping for a better 9.5x

Fast, light, secure and runs without glitches with a nice slick interface. Handles mail, RSS, news and torrents, its the best all in one client out there.

Well I can't see what Alexander is saying because DevArt loads for me without any troubles and it did so with 9.50 too. I certainly can't see or believe that FF is the same or faster because that has never been my experience and the difference in speed now is even greater. There are some sites that cause hiccups though but I don't come across them like I used too. With that said 9.50 was a great step forward but wasn't ready to be released. It gave better speeds while having so many built in features and still lighter than the others while being the safest BUT it also introduced some new flaws that definately impacted the browsing experience. 9.51 has corrected all of my concerns thus far. Good job by the Opera team jumping to fix it as quick as they did. FOR THOSE WHO DON'T WANT THE TRAY ICON To remove the tray icon, you need to edit the shortcut used to start Opera, at the end of the command add /notrayicon -credit goes to sgunhouse for the tip-

i sorta kinda see what al's saying. most of us don't care what's under the hood, we just want web pages to render correctly. but i also see what opera is saying, conform to standards, and everyone's browsing experience will be lighter, faster, and most of all, the browser should be invisible, rather than a hassle. opera is light on the computer resources, works out of the box, and does everything i need it to do. great browser.

While I'm happy to give the product a high rating this particular download appears to have a corrupted cab file and thus be unusable.

Alexander-GG: Just so you know, Opera gets one of the highest scores on the ACID test. So it's devianrt's fault that they pages don't load correctly, not Opera's.

@Alexander-GG >> Why should you care? If your wrench does not fit the bolt because the bolt manufacturer chose to deviate from the standard... Is that the wrench manufacturer's fault? Who would you complain to? Both Opera and Firefox are excellent browsers. I use Opera because I love the speed, the customizability, the keyboard shortcuts, the mouse gestures - all directly out-of-the-box.

I just uninstalled Opera. The only thing I want from the browser is to be fast and correct. Opera can't open the web pages correctly. You should reload deviantArt pages several times to see its content properly. I do not care who's fault it is - Opera team or Web developers. Why should I care? Yes, Opera is fast, but I cant see a big difference between Opera and FF. Maybe FF is even faster. I'm not a fan of any kind of browser. I just see, that Opera doesn't work as the good browser should.

Only wish if a new tab plus sign is not [only] on the right side [scalable, so I have visualy to search for a button], but also on the left side [fixed, so I don't have to guess iT's position]! Thanks

I like the new interface of Opera, so, today I installed Opera (9.51) again. The pages at deviantArt now are displayed correctly. When I was opening the DA pages (with Opera 9.50, cause I don’t like to test betas) the page-add at the header (top) was placed right in the centre of the page and I was unable to see the content. You may see the same “effect” if you open now the homepage of the Orbit downloader. There are some more websites where you can see the same problem. So, now 5 for good interface and speed.

Not in a hurry to download 9.51, because 9.50, when uninstalled, left some "Auto Play" junk in the registry that had to be manually cleaned out. No thanks. Sticking with 9.27 for now.

5 for the big improvement over the previous version,, still it's very annoying to use it in work specially with NTLM authentication, for every link I have to enter user id and password,, ??? Firefox 3 is even better than IE6,7 in this area,, The best thing in opera that I can control disabling images for each tab alone which is only supported in Opera,

@Anal: did you file a bug report? And did you try this on more than one computer? I could NOT reproduce this bug on my computer. (Vista 32bit) That aside, this new beta has many stability fixes and other improvements, pretty impressive considering Opera 9.50 final was released less than two weeks ago...

analphatester: you really are an anal-phatester. I love how people rate a program 2 for saving a picture bug. lol Best browser ever!
