POP Peeper 3.7

POP Peeper by Mortal Universe Software Entertainment Screenshot POP Peeper Screenshot

POP Peeper is an email notifier that runs in your Windows task bar and alerts you when you have new email on any of your POP3, Hotmail, MSN, Yahoo, Mail.com, MyWay, Excite, Lycos.com, or RediffMail accounts. Send mail using your SMTP server or through your webmail account directly from POP Peeper. It supports HTML email, so you can see your email the same way as you would in your email client. Several options are available that will decrease or eliminate the risks of reading your email (viruses, javascript, webbugs, etc). If you share your computer, you can password-protect your accounts or password-protect access to POP Peeper.

"A really nice free email program." I have several email account that pile high with emails. This helps me either delete or look at emails right away. It also is attached to my regular email program. I like this product. There in not much I can say about what I don't like. Once your learn what each menu does it was easy to set up. Maybe I wish it had a better virus protector or junk mail catagory.

"Great Mail Program. And It's Free!" Ability to check multiple email accounts from the most popular web mail clients. This includes Hotmail, Aol, Gmail, Yahoo, Mail.com ect. Easy to set up, personalize and use. Can check POP mail accounts also. I've tried many, this program is best. None, its free, what more could one want.? This program keeps up with the changes made by the various email clients, and it hasn't failed me yet, after 9 months of use. POP Peeper is a must if you have many email accounts.

"Have numerous email accts? Then you NEED this product!" I'm able to check on multiple web email accts and have a local copy all in one place so finding that elusive email is very easy! I previously used another product but switched over a few months ago and wish I'd done it sooner! Nothing that really comes to mind quickly.

"does exactly what I need without going overboard" I tried FF extensions, Yahoo widgets and other stand-alone apps but Pop Peeper was the only one that EASILY monitored multiple accounts across multiple providers. Setup was a breeze and I haven't had to change a thing since - it just works. Now I know for sure how far behind I am on my email.

"PP is a great, unbloated, mailbox monitoring app." Have used POP Peeper daily on 2 PCs for several years. It's a fantastic little app that does exactly what you want, if you want background notification of e-mail delivery to multiple mailboxes. Simple to use and well thought out. When I find something bad to say about POP Peeper, I'll let you know :)

Works very well for me with the multiple accounts that I have set it to check. No issues found and great functionality.

"Great, flexible, fast pre-viewer for all mail accounts" Quick overview of all messages in all mail accounts, anywhere in the world. Remove unwanted or nog longer needed emails directly, without the need for heavy weight packages. - a portable version- direct support to circumvent blocked ports from behind a firewall

Outstanding utility for monitoring multiple email accounts.Small (under 2MB), fast and portable. Has e-mail preview feature or can launch your e-mail client by default. Anomoly: This is NOT an email client. It has a very, very basic email client built-in but it's main purpose is to periodically check all your email accounts, alert you when you have new messages and view their header information. This is my favorite part since I can tell from the header if it is spam and delete it without having to load my Email client. Yes I use Slypheed too and it is an excellent email client but I prefer to leave POP peeper running in the system tray since it is light on resources and run Slypheed when I need to read/reply to messages.

1. Free 2.Small, lightweight program. 3. Easy to configure to your own needs. 4. Fast and sure notification. 5. Handles all the major webmail clients like hotmail, yahoo, aol, gmail plus pop mail. None at all If you have more than a few email accounts from different webmail sites, this is a must tool for one to easily and quickly get mail notification, both visual and auditory. You can read attachments and send mail from one convienient place. And it is free. What more do you want?

"Terrific email notifier" Instant notification. I like the fact that it works with mail.com. webmail when nothing does. None that I know of.

Works with most mail types and providers well. Nicely configurable. When a IMAP message is deleted (using an email client outside of POP Peeper) the message is not removed from POP Peeper. Great program other than one annoyance: When a IMAP message is deleted (using an email client outside of POP Peeper) the message is not removed from POP Peeper. The author claims this is proper IMAP spec behavior .... I won't argue, but I will claim that the user should be given the option to have it behave otherwise. Updated on Aug 29, 2009 And, yes, I do have the Advanced account option 'Remove Messages not on Server' checked.

"Didn't work for me ;-(" Efficient notification of the upgrade availability, and It was easy to download. Didn't work on my computer - couldn't sign on to any of my accounts and kept locking up everything. Rebooted several times and finally uninstalled + restored to previous version. Working fine again! Other than the new version which did not work for me, I LOVE PopPeeper. It allows me to easily retrieve emails from several accounts and many times, I can even delete them from the host server. Most helpful!!

"very limited functionality" lightweight, easy to use i needed to shell out a further USD 10 if I wanted to be able to archive my messages or view my sent items. unbelievable.

Being able to color-code different emails and use different sounds or notifications for each separate email address is helpful. This program works well with GMail, but I don't like the way it works with Hotmail. Pop Peeper keeps my emails marked as unread when I open my gmail acct, but in Hotmail my emails are marked read and I can accidentally delete emails I wanted to save. This program takes some tweaking to get the settings to be what you want. It's good for basic notification of emails from various accounts. Just make sure to play around with different settings, such as hiding read emails if you want to save copies in your webmail accounts to view later.

"Excellent product" Easy to set up and use. Colour coding of accounts is useful. The ability to search for an email would be useful. I've been using the product since early v1. I use it daily to monitor some 12 email accounts and find it very useful; occasionally using it to send replies too. The tweak utility is useful too.

- Works perfectly with most webmails WITHOUT using pop or imap, directly webmail. - Much faster than logging into webmail sites. - Never see a single thing of a webpage, everything is software GUI. - Every account is presented the same way. - Doesn't have "conversation" ordering of emails. - Can't check spam folder of accounts. - No other cons... I've used it for more than 5 years and never had a bug! It always had update to keep functionality with all webmails. By the way, it has automatic update notification! It has a very powerful Tweak plugin. And a powerful, skinnable email notification plugin. It hardly takes any CPU and Ram. I use it mostly for hotmail, and the I have a great gain of time using it rather than logging into hotmail directly. If you use a webmail and want to have a continuous check of your email with a very fast and easy to use email client, then Pop Peeper is the way to go!!! Plus it's 100%, absolutly no add or nags or adware!
