Well, I have to admit I was wrong about this program. I installed the free trial and started a full scan. Here I am, thinking I'm good and clean. But I wasn't. This program notified me of 9 open ports in my firewall, found and quickly killed 3 trojans and made me a believer. I'm thinking "***", I need this program so I got a free copy threw "Trial Pay" and it was well worth the minor hassle to get it. No matter the comments, the trial "will not update". It will however, scan and kill any trojans on your computer as well as check your firewall ports. The download is worth a go.

Interface was simple. Intentions of developers looked fine to me. Admittedly, mine is an older PC. I installed TrojanHunter 5 set so its "guard" component was off. The app may work just fine with newer OSs, but for my Win98SE: it messed up Windows Explorer, which kept crashing then restarting itself. This problem ended when I (a) disabled the TrojanHunter "shell" entry I found using ShellExView, then (b) uninstalled TrojanHunter entirely. Also, both the definitions update and the full scan took excessive amounts of time.

"Serious false positives and some!" Zero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's junk full of false positives, BS about firewall ports and as far as I'm concerned, might as well be listed a rogue. First I installed this garbage on three systems. One XP Pro, One Vista Ultimate and the last, Vista Home Premium. On all three it detected supposed trojans that three different Anti-Virus scanners didn't. These Anti-Virus programs are Kaspersky, NOD32 and McAfee. Not only that, it told me about open ports in each systems firewall when I', 100% positive all ports are in stealth.. Keep this junk Mischel Internet Security and keep your cash users.

Unique in it's approach as theres only a few others like it. Mischel Internet Security seems to be a well respected publisher of security software (at least in Europe). Great idea thats been neglected in it's development. Hasn't had an updated version in a year. Plain jane interface. False positives & always seems to think I have open ports which, behind an encrypted router is impossible. The free trial is a waste of time as it "WILL NOT UPDATE"! If Mischel Internet Security ever addresses the issues mentioned in my cons I'd have another look but not before then. Especially after I found "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware ". It's off the chain & just about as perfect as one can get for Vista users. I liked it so much, I got the full version.

"dont bother with the trial version" picked up on 1 trojen on my pc wont let u take care of the trojens in the trial version unless you buy it so not worth downloading when theres better free ones around

Pro's: none unless you buy I guess! Free 30 day trial but you cannot update definitions, I tried emailing them to ask why they have a free 30 day trial that cannot be updated in anyway and they didb't so much as answer. Apparently you used to be able to update manually. Pathetic. Don't waste your time, if this shoddy company cannot be asked to answer it's email, then what's the supoort going to be like? I's been several weeks now. Bottom line. RUBBISH! Updated on Nov 23, 2009 Forgive the spelling mistakes but I am seething!

I tested this on an infected system and it failed. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware did take care of the trojan and it is a free program.

"I have been using TrojanHunter over many years." I can instal the program, and other than download the latest trojan lasts, just leave it to do the rest. There are no faults that I have found over the years

It doesn't catch all of the trojans (Ad-Aware and Spyware Doctor have saved me too) but they can't knok it out eather, so it keeps working and doesn't slowdown my computer. A Deep Scan takes too long. Although it doesn't appear in my Security Center, it integrates perfectly well to Windows. For Example, it doesn't let me open a folder in My Pictures (where downloads from internet use to be risky) without scanning it first. I have used it for about a year in different computers (XP and Vista 32/64bit) together with Norton AV and 360, AVG, G Data, Counterspy!, Prevx 3.0, SuperAntispyware free and paid versions, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, and other security programs without problems, not even with ZoneAlarm!

After paid full version the prog downloaded updates. A second deep scan revealed 5 more trojans.Speaks for prog that it did not try to fool before payment & found deep trojans ALL my security progs missed. None really. The deep scan is slowish but i would rather have a result worth having. Free download spotted one trojan but does not remove until you pay for license. However,on payment & update spotted others & removed. Does not conflict with my other security progs (Advanced system protector, zone alarm, newly installed Avira Premium & malwarebytes).Does not slow down system. Has a Guard system but all I can say is that my frequent deep scans show nil return. On face value, 30 well spent ! I purchased because an email virus attacked my machine despite a multi layer defense. When I initially downloaded I expected several results to encourage you to purchase. The reverse was true.Like it..trust it.
