WinSCP is freeware SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) and SCP (Secure CoPy) client for Windows using SSH (Secure Shell). Its main purpose is safe copying files between local and remote computer. Beyond this basic function, it manages some other actions with files. It can do all basic operations with files, such as copying and moving. It also allows you to rename files and folders, create new folders, change properties of files and folders. One of two selectable program interfaces allows user to manage files even on local computer. Most operations can be done recursively for files in folders.

Very easy to use and allows both explorer and commander style of ui. Free reviewers shouldn't be required to fill forms...

Easy and fast to delete. Slow load and download capabilities. Help menu is extremely limited. Unreliable access (will occassionally deny password access for no understandable reason). Download this software if you enjoy wasting your time and computer memory space, otherwise DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING THIS PIECE OF CRAP SOFTWARE!

The old version worked, but I remember having to clean my hdd for adware infection. Now this latest version has another embedded adware!Install if you want your PC to slow to a crawl after adware bombardment! This program delivers potentially unwanted advertisements to your computer.Security Essentials detected programs that may compromise your privacy or damage your computer.Items: containerfile:D:\.\Downloads\ftp client winscp429setup.exe AVOID because of ADWARE hidden in the WinSCP file.What else is hidden in it, keyloggers, spyware, viruses???The author should know that every PC downloads AND SCANS for these infected trojans!!!For shame on CNET too!

There are not a lot of options out there for scp over windows. So it is nice this program is out there. It has all the regular ssh options. Unlike other reviews I did not come up with any adware. When you save a file sometimes the password dialog comes up, but you don't know because it is underneath your editor of choice.It opens a new instance of gedit everytime you open a new file. Definitely a good scp client. Use it on all my windows boxes.
