AM-DeadLink detects dead links and duplicates in your Browser Bookmarks. If a Bookmark has become unavailable you can delete it from your Browser. It checks Bookmarks from Internet Explorer, Opera, and Netscape.

"flawless performance of the intended task!" Freeware that performs the task for which it was intended quickly and efficiently. No problems encountered.

Hey Antichrist. As posted in his blog and I quote as to being asked why on FF3 support, he says " no, still no plans to hack into foreign databases. Only browsers that save their bookmarks in a readable plain text format are supported."

Best way to clean out all your old dead links and delete your duplicates in a wonderful, simple, portable app None. It's been around all these years because it does it's job perfectly A great tool for cleaning out your bookmarks

Finds dead links, duplicates, redirected links. Helps you clean up your bookmarks. Was disappointed when it didn't work with Firefox 3.0,so was very excited when latest version works great with FF! No apparent systematic way it selects which duplicate BM to highlight to save; unrelated to folder.

Works like a charm. Does find duplicates and validates all your bookmarks. Awesome. Does NOT work with Chrome bookmarks. Saves Chrome bookmarks as a wierd HTML file, which can not be imported back into Chrome again. Pity! Must-have for non-Chrome users. Waiting for suffcicient support for Chrome though.

It quickly found a bunch of dead links. I would have preferred it sort them from the top automatically.

Did a fine job of seeking out links that no longer were active. BUT it took a very long time to review all my Bookmarks and Favourites..almost 2 hours....... Will use every once in a while...

Very fast, very easy to install and run. Wish it did more. This seems to be a great start but think there should be something more ... maybe organizing the favorites/bookmarks. If you want fast and easy ... this is the one.

Easy to use, does what is says, have used it for years and never had a problem No Cons that I can think of, great program! I've been using AM-DeadLink for years, it is an easy and great tool for managing bookmarks. You may not how many junk or duplicate bookmarks you have until you use this program. It is easy to use and very handy

Finds duplicates fast; works with all major browsers, upgraded Firefox support. With high-speed broadband and setting maximum connections (30), update speed is awesome. Could use improved delete feature in duplicate mode. I have used AM Deadlink for many years to cull duplicate bookmarks and--of course--dead links and to update redirected links. The latter function is less critical critical with increasing broadband speeds, but if you use lots of old bookmarks, it may still be worthwhile updating frequently used links periodically.I had stopped using AM-Deadlink when Firefox 3.0 came out because it wasn't compatible, so I was pleased when I learned it was upgraded not only to work with Firefox, but to do so in "real-time" as it has always done with IE. [Earlier versions of AM-Deadlink required that you actively save any changes made to Firefox bookmarks before exiting the program. Since I don't use Opera or Safari, I don't know how it works with these browsers.]If you have hundreds--or thousands--of bookmarks to manage like I do, it is helpful to set the number of connections to the maximum (30) if your system can handle it since this will speed up the update process dramatically. One feature I would like to see is the ability to delete all copies of a bookmark when in "duplicates" mode. It is not unusual for me to find multiple copies of an unwanted or obsolete bookmark when in duplicates mode. Unfortunately, this mode requires that you keep at least one copy of each bookmark. This means an extra step of deleting all but one copy, then leaving duplicates mode to delete the last copy. This may not be a significant issue for most users, and though I find this limitation a bit annoying, it is far from a deal-breaker.Bottom line: if you need to manage and update large numbers of bookmarks, this program works great. And you can't beat the price!
