uTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients.

I love this program. Its size is amazing considering all its options.

Allways using the stable version, having no problem what so ever, all problems you are having can be undone in the preferences...basicly that is what causing problems, changing the preferences without knowning what you are doiing, same counts for me! LOL

Been using Azureus but finally decided to try this. Wow what a difference in memory usage. About one tenth of Azureus. I only have one complaint. The font size is minuscule. Either increase it or add an option so the user can increase the size. Those that have perfect vision won't have it for long if they have to keep reading the font size in this program. Those that don't have perfect vision will need a magnifying glass to read it. Other than this cosmetic issue the program is great. Correct the font issue and I will rate it a 5.

I'm really eager to try it but since all the torrent sites I frequent won't let you use any µTorrent versions past 1.7.7, it's a mute point. Is this thing ever going to be done? Seven months is a long time to wait for a release. What do they have, ex-Microsoft employees working on this now?

Has anyone's Web browsing speeds been hampered by this UT build?
Rated 20/50 by Blaxima at Jul 2, 2008
Thanks ptzkiler! It was someone like you who long ago posted a link to help me get my 1.7.6 going and the speeds have been great ever since. This version is banned by alot of the trackers out there so whether its BS what people said about it working with the RIAA or if this version is the best thing since sliced bread, know that your file sharing experience is going to be severly hampered. If that matters to you then you can get an older version from here http://filehippo.com/download_utorrent/ (because azereus is not the answer)

Still one of the best torrent clients out there even this new version.

No problems with transfer speeds here. Excellent as always. Glad to see they're FINALLY into the release candidates, but I'm sure they're still squashing bugs.

Have major memoryleaks with this one. It "eats" up my 4GB ram. 1.7.7 works just fine
Rated 50/50 by rseiler at Jul 15, 2008
@LightningStrike: If that's something you're seeing with RC2 as well, then please report it here: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=31998

The memoryleak is still there. 1.8 =memoryleak 1.7.7=No memoryleak UPDATE, seems to be new settings that makes the "leaks" or as the reply was written in the forum "The problem is more likely in the stupid windows disk cache. Bypass it in the uT preferences." It works now, just fine

Ok, uTorrent is a good small client but its been in 1.8 beta now for over a year.. let get going here, at this rate it'll take a decade to get to version 2.0!
Rated 40/50 by miyuki09 at Jul 23, 2008
and the changelog still HUGE, i mean... a lot of FIX and changes every build... but... still the best client around.

This is the 1.8 "final" (first stable release)! It's linked on their main page now and is discussed here: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=44003 No problems at all so far. It picked up my 1.7.7 transfers perfectly and just kept going. Yay! Finally!

µTorrent 1.8 Build 11758? There is no such release at the utorrent forum, and they release all their betas.

Best torrent client, it even got the Tetris game! About the download throttling: If everyone sets the upload to 0 and download to unlimeted we would end with 0 in download as well, so by forcing people share at least something (like 5Kb/sek) is GOOD.
