uTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients.

I have gotten so many interesting files from this program. It's the best bit torrent client around. Who needs the extra bells and whistles that the others have.....and no ADs or nag screens either! What I don't like about this product is not the product itself but it is a failing which so many p2p dowloaders have---they are so-called leeches who download voraciously but don't give back by seeding what htey have gotten. I wish that UTorrent and other p2p programs could somehow make Leeching a felonious offense. It's a pity that the selfishness of leechers is spoiling p2p. For instance, I'm right now waiting the completion of a program that's been stuck at 96.6% downloaded for 5 days!!! Aside from the electric chair a suitable punishment for leeching would be force them to explain emailing to 90-year-olds!!

"Always a consistent product." You can set the level of detail from noob to pro and understand what is going on. Settings require a little bit of tech savvy if you want to tweak it. I think I finally got my port forwarding straightened out.

"haven't used very much but has worked well." Dependable on certain downloads Not constant for all downloads Good to have on special downloads than to not torrents are still useful.

"Best software I ever used." I can download stuff really fast with this program. It never lags. Doesn't use much system resources. No cons at all.

"Works great, adjustable as to upload and download speed" Works great, allows the upload and download speeds to be adjusted independently. It lacks some of the features of Vuze that I like, but it is more flexible than Vuze.

1) Light, very small memory usage 2) New version comes with automated configuration setting 3) Easy to use Cant think of any. Have been using it for a couple of years now, and it just keeps on getting better and better. Always user-friendly, with now built-in port configuration setting. Great little program really. Wouldn't use any other. Highly recommendable.

Does a good job without using a lot of cpu resources... I haven't found anything that I don't like yet... After trying bit Comet and other large client programs that used every bit of of the cpu's unused resources I tried the smallest one...u Torrent...it does all that I need and "plays well with others"...What more could a person ask???

It works and do not use a lot of resources No problems at all. After using Comet I tried this one. it much better. No problems at all.

Easier to install, configure and use compared to the earlier versions. Better management of downloads/uploads. Bandwidth allocation (High/Normal/Low) doesn't work as expected! Strongly Recommended: If the Total Number of Active Seeds/Peers for a torrent falls below 5 the software should Alert/Request the existing Seeds/Peers to continue seeding till it jumps back to 5 again.

@Prespero424: Read your review and call it lazy and not worth it to bother afterwards, point is that I dont ignore RULES on private trackers, if they say: BANNED version 2.xx do you think I take any risk or gonna discuss it with mods of start a discussion in their forum? Ignoring rules means get banned ( a warning for using a banned client? I dont think so..). They make the rules to any one that want to use their tracker not you and me I know for a fact that uTP is better but also not worth the risk for the time beiing. The devoloper of uTorrent introduced uTP, why doesnt he create an option to seperate your torrents for free trackers from private trackers? And, this problem longer excist, I always must disable DHT when loading a torrent from a private tracker, very annoying At last: why isnt the devoloper of uTorrent warning for connectionfaillure or connectionproblems with private trackers? When I change something I am also to blame for problems that is created by it if I dont mention anything, he should have mentioned, not everyone knows what uTP is or isnt aware of it that it is used in 2.xx Here a copie out of rules from a huge private tracker done on 04-27-2010:- Allowed Clients * uTorrent: 1.6.1/1.7.7 and 1.8 (Windows) * Azureus: 2.5.0.4 and above (Multiplatform) * BitTornado: 0.3.17 and above (Multiplatform) * Transmission: 0.96 and above (Multiplatform) * KTorrent: 2.2.4.0 and above (Linux) * RTorrent: 0.4.2 and above (Linux) * Xtorrent 1.1 and above (Macintosh) Here a copie out of a second huge private tracker Windows Clients uTorrent (versions 1.6.1, 1.7.7, 1.8.2 and 1.8.3) Recommended (Get 1.8.3 Here) Utorrent Downgrade Info Here (Utorrent 1.8.4.0, 1.8.5.0, 2.0.0.0 > 2.0.1.0 ARE BANNED) Only a few private trackers(?) Download speed, smooth updates, good UI layout. Now it does not require to setup port forwarding on the router. Nothing to complain about This is absolutely terrific torrent download program. Early versions use to require to setup port forwarding on the router to reach high download speed. Now you do not need to do it. The UI layout is very good. Also it does automatic updates to a new version very smoothly. Overall - this is one of the best piece of software in existence.

You keep rating it 5, I keep rating it 1 star, fact is that uTorrent done something that didnt make it easier in torrentland, all the private trackers that I am using banned version 2.xx and uTorrent 2 is useless to me untill all private trackers allow it and that isnt the case, we will see where it ends Prespero. Or uTorrent delivers a clean version without uTP or it slowly but certainly lose populairity and the days of Vuze will rise again, I was looking to use Halite but this client is also banned by a private tracker that I like to use... @Prespero424: Read your review and call it lazy and not worth it to bother afterwards, point is that I dont ignore RULES on private trackers, if they say: BANNED version 2.xx do you think I take any risk or gonna discuss it with mods of start a discussion in their forum? Easy to install Cannot get manual port selection to get through my firewall! Tried everything I know and can still only download.
