Terrible on VIsta...beaucoup lost button functionalities + conflicts with touchpads on laptops.

Works like hell, just like all SetPoint versions released over the past two years. Forgets its settings, for one thing.

Works fine on Vista, despite previous reviews. As for trackpads on laptops not working, when did logitech start making trackpads? Anyway DeNovo Edge and MX Revolution here and Setpoint 4.70 works great. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 and 4.70 is much quicker than previous releases.

With XP Pro and Cordless Desktop® MX™ 3200 Laser (keyboard and mouse) installed I have had no problems with SetPoint 4.72 or any other version I've used. I'm not a big fan of SetPoint because there are so many things that can cause conflicts with it and generally do not have it installed. The keyboard and mouse work fine without it, but I recently found some uses for some of the special settings in SetPoint and reinstalled it and have had no problems with it; everything works great in every program I've used it in. I say if you don't need it don't install it. The only problem I've had with Logitech is the G7; I was on my second and it crapped out after a year. They sent me a G9 as a replacement and now have to install a seperate version of SetPoint designed only for G9. They say SetPoint 5.10.203 will co-exist with 4.72; we will see. Although I'm not a big fan of SetPoint I can't really give it less than a 5 because its always worked for me, but that may change soon.

"Upgraded" from 4.70 to 4.80. Now it doesn't work anymore. Surprise! Logitech may make a fantastic mouse, but they couldn't write software to save their lives. I rank this with Adobe Reader. Complete over-sized pile of excrement.

This software is probably the worst crap I ever have met. I bought a 4th Logitech mouse (this time a G5) after two of the 3 previous Logitech mice became too rapidly useless after a short time, (all made in CHINA of course) I won't comment on the G5 mouse (I don't like it that much). But who on earth needs THAT MUCH bytes his computer, only for a mouse !? The worst experience however not when you are using this crap, but it comes later at un-installation time. When you uninstall SetPoint , using a good uninstaller program REVO Uninstaller, after performing the buid-in uninstaller of Setpoint, the Revo program will (if you want to) search for "left-overs" in the Windows registry and on also on your harddisk. I never encountered that much "left overs" in my whole life !! There must be between 3000 or 4000 registry entries left behind, which you have to remove one by one. Keeps you busy for some time. My very old Microsoft roller mouse was stolen because it was a museum piece, BUT it was STILL working after 20 years of daily use. Compare this old mouse (plug-and-play avant la lettre) with todays garbage stuff "Made-in-China for Logitech" to understand what I mean. Considering on top of this, the very poor attitudes of what Logitech calls "Support" (in belgium), I think I have seen enough. I would give a negative rating (if it were possible) but it is impossible to go lower as one star here.

just installed this version on a cordless ex-100 mouse/keyboard combo. works perfectly. all options there. new look kinda sucks. otherwise it's fine.

Loaded the 64 version the other day. By By Uberoptions. I had to uninstall and load an older vrsion to get Uber back.

Well, I've had the cordless MX laser mouse for many years with absolutely no problem. As far as the SetPoint software is concerned, XP, Vista and Windows 7 never needed it for my mouse to run perfectly. I also have the G15 Gaming Keyboard and 2.1 Logitech speakers. I will be upgrading these to the G19 Keyboard, the 7.1 Surround Gaming Headset and the newest gaming mouse. So, those of you who write of Logitech's quality simply have had bad luck or perhaps like to abuse your property a little too much. I stand behind the quality and options that Logitech products offer (though some, like the G19, come with a premium price tag). Being manufactured in China isn't a quality issue, though I would prefer that Logitech make its products in the Western Hemisphere, too. Now I'm curious about all this negative hype over the Setpoint software and will install it just to see if you negative reviewers are 100% correct. Later, after installation and use...the Setpoint software works just fine on my Windows 7, adds some nice options to my MX laser mouse and, wonderfully, doesn't conflict with the G15 software.

sure it's a little bloated but it give acces to some custom & advanced feature and management (change default buttons behaviors, etc) Here are the changelog from 6.0 to 6.1 : The download size has been reduced by approximately 60%. This has been achieved by streamlining the code and removing device pictures from the download package. SetPoint will automatically download pictures in the background for devices that are connected to your system. SetPoint 6.1 includes the control panels for standard mice and keyboards (previously supported in SetPoint 4.x) and gaming mice (previously supported in SetPoint 5.x). This reduces duplication of system components, resulting in a smaller overall installation size. The SetPoint control panel for standard mice and keyboards has been updated with a new appearance. Numerous bug fixes and stability enhancements have been made in SetPoint 6.1

I've been using SetPoint and a G5 mouse for a couple of years, and the only complaint I have is that I have not found a way, through SetPoint's interface, to disable the BlueTooth service it installs. I have no BlueTooth devices, so it is useless to me, and yet I cannot remove it. Aside from that, the software offers good features and functionality (even though it's a little bloated).
