System Mechanic is a nice set of tools that will help you with regular maintenance of your system. Tools include disk clean up, fix broken shortcuts, remove duplicate files, securely delete files, clean registry, safe installer, remove invalid installed info, startup manager, Internet privacy (deletes temporary Internet files and history), and Internet speed up which tweaks your registry settings for you so you get faster connection speeds.

I have used System Mechanic for several years and have recommended it to my friends. All of us have experienced good results, and I truly believe that it does keep my computer running smoothly It is a personal observation based on my own experiences I haven't found any but I'm not a computer expert. Good for me but maybe not for everyone. So many of these programs have a LOT of bells and whistles and it is difficult to tell the results.

At this time unknown. I have made my inital run of this program and my computer hasn't slowed or sped up, its performance is about the same. When all the cleaners within this program are completed, it fails to indicate what the specific problems it encountered or fixed. This included registry cleanup, virus and spyware and system optimazation. . The product seems to go through its paces. You have no idea what problems are encountered or fixed. And so technical support is non-existent. This is NOT what I expected and feel the money would be better spent if I had thrown it in a trash can.

Effective program until an update is accepted. A new registered user 3 days ago, I just performed update per adivsory message. Now, after repeated restarts, each attempt to use System Mechanic gives another error message, indicating another restart is required. I will soon ask for a refund! I would only use this as freeware on a one time basis.

It seemed to offer a lot of functionality. Had disastrous results on my system (Windows 7 Home) I bought this program; it seemed to work at first, then tragedy. It appeared to have zapped my registry and numerous programs stopped working. The so called "registry defrag" froze system on reboot; I complained about it but they did not fix it. System Mechanic rendered my system unusable and, not having a recent enough restore point had to do a complete system restore. After,I did a restore point, thenI ran the program again to make sure it was the culprit. It was; zapped my system again and had to use restore point, then all was OK again.. I was not able to get a refund from them because of the time lapse. A complete loss of dollars and TIME!

Easy installation, automatic updates, complete PC care! None that I have found! System Mechanic Professional is an excellent product that has been an annual purchase of mine for years! A complete program that will keep your computer running at maximum proficiency while keeping it virus free. I would recommend this product to anyone with a PC! I cannot understand the negative reviews I have read on here, I've never had an issue!

feature rich some features give blue screen of death I had been using this software for 1 year in the past but no more as the product relived itself already, nothing new, I hope something will be changed soon to get me back in the row.

None that I saw. Didn't do anything. Crappy, useless AOL support in India. Couldn't Cancel after free trial It's a junk program. Better off with CC Cleaner, and it's free. I thought I'd give it a try. My PC is very old, and I thought it would tweek it a bit. It went through it's motions, suggested some changes that I agreed to. But didn't Improve my performmance. Which is fine, maybe my computer was already in top form. The big problem I had was trying to cancel, and getting AOL to stop billing my credit card. I had this same problem a couple years ago when AOL went free. They billed me 2 more cycles of 19.95 before changing my account then. So this time I paid with a cash card. Sure enough, They billed me two cycles. On the third the card was depleted. I'm still getting negetive billing notices on an empty cash card, after canceling online and twice by phone. I don't even want the $8 refund for two months sevice. I just want the harrassing emails to stop. AOL shoudn't push their luck, they're already an obsolete browser. I only use it to check my mail. The first time I canceled was on the day of the first bill after the free trial.

Pretty interface too many to list--see summary Got this as a 'special' download through AOL. I ran it once (1 month free trial) and had problems immediately with my computer. My laptop would not go into hibernation and sucked my battery dead. It screwed up my Bluetooth adapter. The start up and shutdown became MUCH slower. Web pages would 'hang' for several seconds before fully loading. My browser (Firefox) crashed repeatedly. Many programs would not run. This program has an outwardly-appearing, simple interface (cute little green-yellow-red indicators), but goes dangerously deep into the registry of the operating system, tossing out files from useful and wanted programs. I spent several hours replacing missing and corrupted files--presumably damaged with the 'cleaning' my system was given by this program. Even System Restore would not bring back files that were lost from System Mechanic's 'cleaning'. I've found that Auslogics Boostspeed is a much better program for cleaning REAL errors and unnecessary items from my computer without damaging essential programs or integrating itself into the registry, it's just not as 'pretty'. I'll do without 'pretty'.

Optimizes my PC for greatest performance I've experienced no real problems by maximizing my performance 4 or 5 times per week. I've used System Mechanics for 5 years with no problems. I run the process continually & perform maintenance 4 or 5 times per week to remove clutter & clean registry.

All-in-One functions or Individual functions that are very intuitive to use Regular updates Great Human-Computer Interface Recent unlimited licence use (up from 3 computers) Perhaps could be made even better with the addition of more network status and diagnosis capabilities beyond what is currently included. Well worth the reasobnable cost. It has found areas to "fix" that other utility programs have missed. I use SM every week if not more often to keep my laptop and desktop running as smoothly as possible.

Interface etc user friendly, basic functions ok. Don't use advanced options, blew up mbr. I had a Vista Ultimate disc handy and had to use it. Corrupted mbr when it did the in depth hard drive cleaning. Partition table also fubared, couldn't use recovery partition. Do a Sir Robin and bravely run away.

I've faithfully used SystemMechanic Pro since 2003. Great suite of windoz' missing tools. First, iolo dumped their great fire wall. Now that I finally upgraded from my old windoz 2000 to windoz 7, on a killer ROG board, SM Pro 10 simply refuses to load and run at all!I'm leaning toward WinUtilities Professional. iolo is now receiving tons of comments from users who are being ignored by iolo service people for problems with SM Pro 10. Without a firewall now and with poor support, there is little reason to stick with iolo products.

Works about as well as many free alternatives providing you stay away from any deep Registry cleaning, which can be risky. If you require support its outrageously non existent for a paid up product. Check out excellent free alternatives such as CC Cleaner et al.
