"Fantastic Music Management" This is a brilliant piece of software that ticks all the boxes that you can think of and more. Having used numerous different types of music management applications, Helium is the most powerful, functional and quickest tool out there. It includes complete tagging capabilites, Music Information Database (artists biography, etc), CD ripping, Album and Artist Picture support plus a host of other features. Their is a learning curve assocaited with this software and those that have large music collection will need to invest some time into catagorising and organising their music, but helium makes it as simple and intiuative as possible. Whats nice about the developers of this software is that when you find something that you do not like, you can request it as an additional feature or correction and if it's widely accepted within the community as a good idea, then it will most likely end up in the next release.

Extremely flexible. Can handle a large collection. Not designed for classical music. Can be "made" to work, but needs some tweaking, such as putting initial letter of alphabet in more classifications. I have used Helium for nearly 5 years and love it. My collection is largely classical and using Title and Subtitle for Symphonies and Operas is difficult since the iPod does not use Subtitles -- so when I use "Carmen" as the title and then name of each aria as the subtitle, I just get "Carmen" as the title. And many of it. Same with Symphonies and other LARGE pieces that have many subdivisions. The iTunes solutions is not a good one: Symphony No 1 in c minor (Allegro) is not acceptable. It would be desirable if the subtitle classification (and composer classification) could be sub-sorted into the litters of the alphabet. The Title classification can be and some others. Then one could swap the title and subtitle classes and end up with usable information. A great product, however. If anyone has a better solution for classical music, I would be interested in hearing of it.

"It does what it should" Great ability to use Discogs.com for tags INterface is somewhat clunky. It does not remember your window sizes. THe best tagging and organizing software out that that is not made specifically for an iPod

"plays - catalogs - sorts all the Music out AT LAST." for the free version I totally RATE THIS AS THE BEST. I have been looking for a music catalog program and player to match or be better than media player and iplayer. THIS IZ THE ONE. None So far. THIS IZ THE THE 1

Unlike most music management software, Helium gives you more customization options and display options. I can display by composer, conductor, work, etc. I love being able to instantly find all my versions of Brahms symp#3, and compare performances. Dislike clumsy process required to enter LP's into database, but at least it is possible to do so. Won't let you add artwork for LP's in your database. Wish internal player supported ASIO to bypass Windows Mixer. Helium is the only music management software I've found that lets me manage several thousand classical CD's and LP's in one database. For the first time, I can find all of my recorded versions of different works, and take advantage of my full music collection. The ability to work with MySQL or MSSQLor Access (default) is outstanding, and provides robust database infrastructure. Helium could be even more flexible, and the user interface is clearly oriented to MP3's and pop music. But customization is possible, and user-customized menus lets me see my music the way I want to. I previously tried Catraxx, which required that all the forms be revised for classical music -- too hard! Music Manager (Wen), Music Catalog Manger (Kix), Music Label 2010, and Wax 1.0 were also programs I spent time trying to adapt for classical music. For my needs Helium is the only program that has worked. Importantly, when I have had issues, the customer support has been rapid and extremely helpful. The program developers really do care about their users and actively solicit (and incorporate) design suggestions from their users in program updates. Helium has lots of nice features and extensions, such as a great spreadsheet tagging editor, customizable tagging fields, good integration with Winamp and Windows Media Player, Playlist management tools, tie-ins to the usual online tag databases (Gracenote, etc.), artwork downloading and management capabilities, etc. It is very full-featured and capable. I have not found a better solution for m

Frankly, there's little to write home about or get excited over. This application does what it says but so do many others. Like most other music management software helium gives you the basic search via indexed ID tags provided it has them listed. I found it disappointing really some basic functions disabled to tempt you to buy the full version. I wouldn't bother myself. Overall , I found this product rather a let down. if it's the only music management system that CometCKO has found that can manage his complex music files, maybe he should explore a little more. I can get the same functionality with Microsoft media player, Winamp, monkey media Dapyx and a number of other's that are totally free.Helium even has an equaliser that's disabled, I'm yet to see an Eq on a media player that's really more than a pretty tone control for tremble and bass.. so what makes Helium's so special it needs to be available only in their premium edition? Then again if you really want better sound, I'll give you a hint guys, buy a better set of speakers. The only way you can play files through it is to drag or double click them into the playlist. Unlike a lot of others that can play them directly from the search list. It might interface with Microsoft media player and Winamp but I then have to ask, why bother using helium as well when both applications do what Helium does anyway. The default interface isn't even that pretty if that's one of you requirements for a simple searchable and editable database. Whilst customization may be possible, personally I prefer something that I don't have to spend hours fiddling with to get it to work and index the way I expect it to when I first install the thing.

Ultra-functionality and all essentials to manage your music A bit complex for new users but once you know your way around its not that difficult! Got big music collection? - Need to add tags and album art? - Want to manage it by renaming? - Need to get album info? - Want to batch convert music? - Then download because it has it all! :)
