PeaZip is a free, open source, cross platform, portable archiving and compression utility, with encryption and volume split features. It has full for support: 7Z, 7Z-sfx, ARC/WRC, BZ2/TBZ2, GZ/TGZ, PAQ/LPAQ, PEA, QUAD/BALZ, split, TAR, UPX, ZIP. You can open, browse, extract, test: ACE, ARJ, CAB, CHM, COMPOUND (MSI, DOC, XLS, PPT), CPIO, ISO, Java (JAR, EAR, WAR), Linux (DEB, PET/PUP, RPM, SLP), LHA/LZH, NSIS, OOo, PAK/PK3/PK4, RAR, WIM, XPI, Z/TZ. Other features include split/join files, wipe files (secure deletion), byte to byte compare files, checksum/hash files, system benchmark, bookmark files and folders.Installable Windows version, providing system integration and automatic uninstaller.

Much more fast than the old version I had, and finally works totally fine on a couple of old archive of mine the older version had problems with. No major showstopper. Good freeware, open reliably a lot of file types, very fast, very simple to use.

I was not happy with the included spyware/malware. spyware included After installing, I ended up with a redirect search page for getti.com/pzip which would not let me go back to my preferred start page. Removing it took the better part of three days. After 20 years of using freeware application from CNet, I was not expecting to find malware on my machine.

Good tool for opening about any compressed format I can think of, and one of the fastest compressors I've seen No big problem so far

Better than WinRAR as it does not need to be paid for. Not much of a con but it automatically sets itself as a default "unzipper" It's good and free.

Works just as well as WinRAR... ...and best of all, it's free. Highly recommend.
