Folder Guide 1.2

Folder Guide by Freeware365.com Screenshot Folder Guide Screenshot

Folder Guide can operate as the part of your context menu in your Windows Explorer. After quick install, it will appear in context menus of Windows Explorer and Open/Save dialogs as "Folder Guide" item. You no longer need dozens of mouse clicks to navigate to your desired folder. Now reach your favorite folders in just 2 mouse clicks. Select from right click menu "Folder Guide" then click on your desired folder. It runs automatically as part of the Windows Explorer context menu, so you will never need to start the program, otherwise you want to edit the list of folders.

Great utility! This is one of few ones I use regularly! Thanks

Overall, it really speeds up my normal ways of navigating to my desired folders. It does provide fast access to my frequently used and favorite folders with very few clicks. Its configurable options are too limited. When open or minimized, its icon stays in the taskbar, thus taking up space on it. It would be more helpful if there is an option to place it in the system tray as well or hide it altogether.

-Fast, Simple and Functional with no memory used and minimal app size-Great for your projects and folders buried deep in your directories-Great for work ! I got the entire office using it.-Reduces desktop and quick-launch shortcuts and icons!! -Cannot add separators, which is my only real gripe.-Cannot access "My Computer", and does not work inside it-Cannot access any removable media such as flash drives or CD/DVDs-Haven't seen an update in a long time This program is an amazing time and frustration saver. No more digging through folder after folder, especially if you accidentally close one that is buried well within your directories. How annoying having to double click folder after folder, without cluttering your desktop or quick-launch toolbar with many shortcut icons. This has been a godsend for my 3d projects and at work with accounting at work. This is one program that is an absolute must have utility for windows xp or vista, both of which work perfectly fine. Easy to use. FIgure it out in about 4 minutes from A-Z. Can't believe it's free.Time saver! So far replaces my broken folderview program. A Godsent! No kidding. None that I can see. Kind of miss my little icons my old program would put at the top of windows explorer for easy clicking but not a big deal. Nice. This is what I've been looking for since folderview a program I use to use but kept crashing since they haven't updated it for years. So painsakingly I've been looking for a replacement. And I believe this is it. I would of easily paid for a replacement for my folderview and can't believe this is free. Kudos to the author of this program! Definitely a plus to saving me soooo much time. As the other guy said I can't believe Microsoft hasn't built something like this for windows. Don't know how much time people spend in trying to dig way down in a folder to get where they want to go. Or less forget where they were and spend "forever" trying to figure that out.Definitely got to try this. It will save you soooo much time!Good luck.

"I love - LOVE - Folder Guide!" Absolutely one of the best, and more frequently used, add-ons to my system. I regularly have to save, move, copy and delete files across numerous folders and drives. This makes navigating between particular folders a breeze. None! This has integrated perfectly in Win98, Win2k, WinXP, and Vista without any problems. This is installed on each and every computer I work on, and it has literally saved me hours of tedious navigation from folder to folder. It's easy to configure, doesn't slow my system down at all, and is totally free. HIGHLY recommended!

"Extremely handy, but with one problem" Very fast and convenient way to open frequently used folders. Right click context menu for CD/DVD drive in "My Computer" loses OPEN, EXPLORE and SEARCH options. When Folder Guide is uninstalled these reappear.(tried this on two different machines, both XP) This is such a handy utility, I wish it didn't exhibit this behavior...

Works great on win xp pro None so far, I've been using it for a good while now If you want an app that gets you to your hand picked folders quickly, then this app will suit you. Just right click your mouse when in a folder finding process; explorer, saving or opening a file etc.. Choose the location from your custom list. Its a big time saver, you no longer have to navigate click after click after click. To add a folder is easy too, right click on the folder and choose ADD...

"Quick access to your Folders, the Easy Way - Great Tool" The main Pro is it saves a huge amount of time trying to find your must used and lesser used Directories.Probably has saved me a Light Year already!easy to Use! and Free. What more can I say " Does exactly what it says on the Tin?" would like automated backup of the Folder ListCan be done manually through menu. What I am really trying say is that when you add a new folder to the list I wish it would make an automated backup of the folder list in a place of users choosing. 1. Easy to use.2. Self explanatory.3. Does exactly what it says.4. Have used it for more than a year and had no problems.

"very handy and now cannot go without it" Getting to files quicker No problems that i can think of.

Saves me a lot of time when browsing my files, this old app is easy to figure out. When I was using windows xp sp2 it disables the open option in the right click context menu of the dvd drives. Well I'm amazed that it works in Windows 7. It doesn't even mess up the context menu like it used to in Windows XP. Works even better in Windows 7 with no problems.

Seems to do what it's supposed to do. Inserts a Folder Guide entry at the very top of the File menu in Windows Explorer in XP. It's obtrusive. Users get familiar with their menus, don't want programs injecting their stuff at random. I use FileBox eXtender instead.

Does what it says on the tin. Replace a fist full of registry hacks and more with one extension. Be lazy! Customize at will. Lives in context menus. Low overhead. Apparently not built for 7/Vista.Um, I have to take a minute to turn off some bits I don't use or which I access differently? Not much of a con, but the Stars asked. Used it for ages. Use a variety of default actions from right-click Explorer context menu, add your own, disable what you don't need. Some extensions can go wonky, but this one never caused any problems on my systems. w00t
