- It's free - it's small - it's an instant install on just about anything - it doesn't have the word 'Adobe' attached to it anywhere - it's got excellent personal setup options The in-doc text search can be funky Printing can be weird every now and then Depending upon the pdf source, if you get a pdf from a known generator, like Foxit Creator or the above mentioned Adoblah the search function is great...on older pdfs or ones made by somebody's printer prog it has some trouble finding words... I've seen it have a couple of printing gliches with different printers on different machines where if you're printing a large number of pages Foxit can hiccup every now and then and skip/double a page...not a big deal... This is the best free PDF prog I've found and eveytime I use it someplace the person seeing it can't wait to dump that other crap (mentioned above) Thanks Foxit

"Great but with no Firefox Support" Fast, Snappy, and easy to use The dealbreaker is no firefox support. It has a plugin for firefox but very buggy and crashes firefox and doesn't open within firefox. Its a good application but until it fixes firefox plugin support I will stick to adobe reader.

does all that acrobat reader can do and adds some professional editing too wants to sell a toolbar with it, but comparing to acrobat reader the toolbar and the software take very very less space. I was freeing up space on my computer and found the acrobar teader to be 140 MB in size. When I found foxit on the web I thought , well if it reads the files it'll be ok, but the 10MB install just doesnt read the files but also does everything the bloated Acrobat Reader does. I've become a convert, and been spreading the good news and gaining more converts. Bye Bye Acrobat Reader.

"Way faster than acrobat" I pretty much just view PDF files I have scanned from hard copy documents. Foxit is much faster than Adobe and does all I need done It doesn't make my cell phone bill any lower. (I was going to leave this section blank, but the program won't let me) Does what I want, and does it well.

"Just in time." I am having trouble downloading Adobe Reader, so I downloaded Foxit on a recommendation from a troubleshooting site. I was immediately able to get done what I needed. And it's faster than Adobe ever was. Thanks. Don't know yet, haven't had it long enough to run into any trouble.

"After a quick test I found Not outstanding at all" Probably it is a little faster tant Adobe Reader Since I ws not used to this program, I had difficulties finding things such a word searcher, etc. I found no reason to change it for Adobe Reason. After a few minutes I sed Good bye to it.

"Excellent product" The program opens quickly. Much faster than Acrobat Reader. I have not encountered any problems to date.

"Does what it's meant to do quickly and smoothly" Loads a lot quicker than other pdf readers and presents the document in what I think is a much more visually pleasing and easier to navigate way None that I've noticed I've only been using computers for 4 years so any program that can make me feel more relaxed and confident about navigating my way around my computer and files like this one does must be doing something right.

"Runs rings round Adobe" Everything. I can't find any cons. Why put up with Adobe bloatware when Foxit takes up less space and is faster? At one time, I couldn't be bothered to download .pdf files from web sites because Adobe took so long. It's a cinch with Foxit.

"Foxit Reader is AOK" I somehow "misplaced" my Acrobat reader with PDF So I downloaded Foxit Reader; it is comparable and maybe better than Acrobat. I have not noticed a difference. I haven't found any cons with this program. I don't use a lot of PDF but I do have some things I have saved to my computer that require this or a comparable program. Foxit Reader has come through every time that I have tried it. I still wish I could find my Acrobat Reader, though.

"Faster, slimmer alternative to Adobe" Much smaller footprint than Adobe, uses much less space, simple effective interface and works well in Firefox No problem with using this software for last 2 years Absolute best alternative to Adobe

"Worked when Adobe did not." Works better than Adobe. Nothing to report I switched to Foxit Reader when Windows Vista came out. All I got from Adobe was instability and no explanation. Foxit worked faster and reliably.

"I like the program and I am not fond of Adobe." Will download most pdf docs but there are some that won't download accurately but this is fairly rare. Will not download all pdf docs.
