Foxit Reader is a free PDF document viewer and printer, with incredible small size, breezing-fast launch speed and amazingly rich feature set. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7.

Its a shame in what its become Foxit Reader, until version 2.X this was a fast and light software, but now its full of nag and other crapware. Im really shame about it. Its time to try other PDF Reader, Foxit no more.

Foxit reader is a much better replacement for Adobe. Most of the problems it had in former versions are now solved. One should be careful during the installation if one wants Foxit to be free from an irrelevant toolbar, an irrelevant shortcut to e-bay. During installation, choose custom installation, then choose not to install the Foxit toolbar, and in the next installation screen choose not to add shortcuts to e-bay. Now, the only remained thing is to open the program, and under the vuew menu to uncheck the advertisement. This will permanently disable the internal advertisement, and will let Foxit be free from nagging/unwanted things.

I don't really see whats bad about it. Its still tremendously faster and less bloated then Adobe and it opens and lets you read PDFs. What do you want from it? It does what it was made to do.

Good software. But STDU Viewer from stdutility.com more better. And can read images and DjVu files.

Really like this program, lightweight, and not bloated like Adobe, deserves 6 stars. Some may not like the program, that is why they have the uninstaller.

Still a fine program and anyone saying that it is worse then the original without giving any reasons are just talking trash. Do not click through the install and you will be fine.

No need to install period as there is a compressable portable version. Has too many dead pro options with the "if you do not want to see this again, click here bs" boxes. Advertising is built into the help menu, and Foxit's claims of it being secure and not accessing the internet without asking is PURE BS. All you have to do is open the help menu & it's already reaching without asking I might add.. Looks a 1000 % better than I remember but is an advertising LOAD of crap. I'll stick with pdfxchange. At least they aren't trying to sell you something that has nothing to do with pdf's whatsoever. And pdfxchange never asks until u do.

"Foxit is easy to load and translates PDF files quickly" It doesn't seem to have the memory requirement that Adobe does so it operates much more readily. Haven't seen any problem areas. It;'s easy to load and just works every time.

"Older builds were better." Faster than Acrobat. Much faster Issues with Vista and Firefox. In Vista triggers User Access Control everytime...very annoying.Does not open PDF files with firefox only IE.

"works fine and uses few resources" Runs consuming very little amount of memory and processor capacity is limited in secondary functions like voice reading

"easy to be used" you just install it and that's it I didn't find anything

"There is no cause, I like it better than acrobat." Faster performance. Not at all. Acrobat installer has no offline installer now. Foxit is small in size and has portable facility.

"there is no way to turn off the internal ads" Right-click on any toolbar > Advertisement

I am quite disapponted with the direction Foxit took lately. Version 3.0 is excellent if you are careful enough not to install the unwanted "value added" things, during the installation. Version 3.1 took things further that way. Now it really goes in the direction of becoming a bloatware. Who needs an internet search bar inside a PDF viewer? and now it seems that there is no way to turn off the internal ads (in version 3.0 there is). Now when I reverted back to version 3.0, it practically means that the version I use will no longer be maintained.

Nice little app that I've been using for ~3 years now. No installer required, just run the exe. Does what it says on the tin, and no crap bloatware like Adobe. Never liked the Pointless Document Format anyway, but if I absolutely have to use it, Foxit scores a win here. 5/5 from me

5/5 @ uzi - you can disable small ads like Ryusennin said... and if you dont want bloadware simply download ZIP pack or extract from MSI... ;)
