Foxit Reader is a free PDF document viewer and printer, with incredible small size, breezing-fast launch speed and amazingly rich feature set. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7.

"The free version is advertizing" Nothing nothing nothing. I opened a PDF file, then received message, YOU MUST BUY PRO VERSION ! ! ! ! ! I tried to use software and was informed that I must BUY PRO VERSION.Software uninstalled.

"seems to work OK" seems to work OK I don't use it often enough to see problems I don't use it much but the little I have it seems OK

SOOOO much faster than Adobe's Reader, and doesn't have the instability problems that Adobe's does. Even better - when saving a PDF from an email, it actually remembers your previous save location instead of defaulting to the TEMP folder! I tend to be more keyboard-oriented than mouse-oriented, so when I want to print a PDF, I use CTR + P. I should then be able to hit enter to select "OK" and send it to the printer, but for some reason, I can only CLICK on OK. Frustrating! Even with the print issue in my cons, I really prefer this program. It's among the first programs I put onto a new PC. Since I have Adobe Acrobat Pro, I use it when I need that type of functionality (i.e. creating PDF's and combining PDF's), but for general viewing and printing, this program is my default.

"Much better than adobe" Does an outstanding job, fast and small. Does not hog the memery like adobe. Opens all the pdf files that states (must have adobe reader to open) None that I have found.

Version 3.2.1 has fixed a security vulnerability. Vulnerability Fixed: Foxit Reader will run executable program embedded inside a PDF automatically without asking for user’s permission.

It works well, but yes, this software does now install the ask.com toolbar and changes the home page on your browsers, without even the slightest tip-off that it's about to do so. Even the custom install route doesn't bother to mention it. So Foxit Software, nice alternative to Acrobat, but you guys are trash.

Beware! It will install Ask components regardless of your selections during the setup process!

I guess the author's greed finally got the better of him, now that he's forcing Ask.com crap on the user without their permission. Thanks for the old versions, but it's time to switch to Sumatra.

Install the sodding Ask toolbar (sleazily renamed Foxit toolbar) no matter what your setup choices are, toolbar which is subsequently a pain in the butt to remove. Hence not freeware but adware, and any such software gets a red card from me. Another promising product falling as casualty from greed.

Update from showing Foxit support this forum: Hello I am sorry for the changes it's made to your system. Here is a link to the reader with no toolbars http://developer.foxitso...oadfile.php?fileId=9774 or the msi version http://downloads.foxitso...pe=msi&mirror=cdn01 Thank You My original review on this forum: Warning. This installs toolbars and changes the home page and default search engines across all browsers without asking for any permissions. Do not install unless you support this kind of thing and/or want to go through and reset all this. Also not sure how many other changes it's made to my system. I consider this as malware. I've no idea how well the software works. Uninstalling Note that this software does have an uninstaller

Clear and concise documents. Perfunctory Watermark makes the software a little cheesy. The conflict it had with Outlook 2007 could not be resolved. Perfectly fine except it had a conflict with MS Outlook 2007.

I like the typewriter feature .. as well as the product overall. none in particular Unfortunately, Cnet gives the version number as 3.2.1.401 and Foxit states it as 3.2.1.0401 which causes CNET update to be complicated. Otherwise, it and the other Foxit products are great.

Fast, not bloated like Adobe. Still my preferred PDF reader but... Installed Ask.com toolbar in spite me choosing Custom install and opting-out. Built-in update is buggy in Vista (update from 3.0 to 3.2 failed) I had version 3.0 and wanted to upgrade to latest 3.2. Tried Installing Updates from program itself but update failed - Probably b/c something with UAC in Vista. At any rate i uninstalled 3,0 (and btw lost all preferences) and then installed 3.2 that i've downloaded from here. I've chose Custom installed to i opted out of all bloatware, shortcuts, etc - However, even though i opted out of Ask.com search toolbar the installer did install it and i had to manually remove it from Programs/Features. I also had to redo my prefs from 3.0.

I love the fact that the program is unobtrusive and does not take up huge system resources like Adobe programs If I ever find one I will still use the program My first job whenever I have to re-install is to ditch Adobe and Install Foxit PDF Reader. It is also well maintained.

Very low quality. Ask/Foxit toolbar is installed by default without permission. Real peace of sh*t.

It's small and fast. Loads quickly and does not have as much overhead as Acrobat Reader. The load file screen is a lttle annoying. Would prefer to just use the menu bar. Terrific little product!
