Big corporates suck, freeware rock.

Oh man, I just dropped Foxit. I tried PDF-XChange Viewer, and I'm done with Foxit. Foxit's GUI has been clunky for a while the last release was crappy (toolbars all over the place and some you couldn't remove). And in this version; I just tried it, the bookmarks on the left hand side don't work- not even listed. I liked Foxit because it was small (was 1.5mb, now it's almost 3mb), fast and portable, but whats with the fact it handles audio and video now? There goes the bloatware diet... PDF-XChange has the typewriter and you can enter & save the contents to the PDF (crappy ploy- Foxit would never let you save the typed information), you can extract the images in the PDF and the GUI; And someone besides a closet programmer was refining the GUI because it's clean. It's portable, it's tabbed - I likes it. Sorry Foxit, but seems like these guys have been listening to the users in the support forums and you haven't. It's been real and it's been good, but not real good. See ya!

Foxit has been a great alternative to the monstrous Adobe product and this version makes it even better. I'm curious about the X-Change viewer mentioned below. I can't find it - can anyone supply a url or more accurate name?

Better than previous release. And still way better than Acrobat. However i must agree with some others here. I think this has been eclipsed by x-change viewer which is simply superb. However this still earns a 5.

while it has made some improvements my biggest gripe is still here. This little guy is just way too pushy when it comes to file association. It basicly doesn't let go even when I choose to open pdf's with another program. I tried sumatra but it bogs down on large pdf files. Give X-change viewer a try its freeware too. Someone on here suggested it and I'm glad they did because it is an excellent viewer which handles files big and small and with speed on them all

Now I can go back to Foxit. Version 2.3 has fixed all my previous gripes which got me go back to Acrobat. Foxit 2.3 now opens faster, no longer alter system fonts rendering, and more importantly it remembers the page and the zoom level of the documents from the last time. Even better it now has tabbed interface for multiple PDFs. The GUI is also sleeker. The search form now is on par with Acrobat reader. Personnally, I find there are a lots of improvements in this 2.3 release. Congratulations.

Best pdf reader around! Adobe Reader SUCKS!

Foxit sucks and lacks true compatibility and it's buggy. I say Fixit or Fuxit. Its a lot faster than Adobe though.

stunning little program. I use this exclusively when doing all my assignments for university. 5/5

Reads PDF files ok. But when I printed a PDF file that is several pages, it takes forever to print from this program. It took around 10 minutes to print a several page PDF on a HP laser printer. Adobe reader, although bloated, doesn't have this problem for some reason. Bottom line is; I like this program for reading PDF's, but it's terrible for printing them.

I really like foxit reader. Easy to use and light weight compared to PDF-XChange Viewer or Adobes own bloatware. Also if you dont like the small AD for the pro version that Foxit displays or that it adds some red text when saving a PDF you just modifed. You can easily remove those annoying features using Resource hacker. To all you PDF-XChange Viewer developers that are writing negtive reviews here. Compared with Foxit Reader, PDF-XChange Viewer is total crapware.

**** THAT'S IT **** I am FINALLY dumping FoxIt. PDF-XChange Viewer is my new viewer. FINALLY a portable PDF viewer that works better than FoxIt.
Rated 20/50 by Eric20 at Apr 25, 2008
Was using this for a while. But it seems that Foxit is getting worse. More interested in selling pro features than making a reliable free viewer. PDF-XChange Viewer is my new PDF app of choice.

I wonder why they are so busy hiding what's new...
Rated 20/50 by SandraDuboix at Apr 26, 2008
It has become almost as bloated as the bloat-champs from Adobe.

I don't like the last version, is a little buggy, so I stick with the 2.2 version for a while, but Foxit is the best PDF reader at all, is the most fast and is very compatible. PDF X-Change Viewer is awfull and slow, Sumatra is very fast but don't show very well all the files.
