Has all the features of Irfanview Didn't find any Quick install, no problems (from zipped files). This is a sleek image viewer, and has a lot of photo-editing features. The only thing I didn't like, and this isn't necessarily a "con", was the tree-type display in the upper left. The thing is, although it compares very favorably with Irfanview and has the same features (plus it's instantly skinable), I guess I'm getting old...I've used Irfanview for many years and I am used to it. Yes, FastStone looks "classier" but my Irfanview does all the same things, so I will let this one go. I do encourage others who are tired of Irfanview, or first-timers, to try FastStone. It's worth it.

"Unbeatable!" Small, packs all you need for organizing and fixing your photo collection. Of course there are no such gizmos as layers but it's a program to help you ORGANIZE your vast collection. And the price? Unbeatable. I do suggest one sends them a small token maybe it tends to (bear in mind: sometimes) somehow reduce gamma settings all by itself when saving altered photos?

"lacks a few features but it is a good all round package" a good replacement to ACDSee Having to confirm a deletion to the recycle bin is a nuisance when editing a large group of photos. Shou7ld have an option to turn off confirmation.

"fast, simple but sophisticated" Provides all the tools needs to tweak snapshots without getting so complex that it requires a steep learning curve. none so far

"I prefer the earlier version; zero technical support" It's the best viewer I've ever seen, but I like the interface on the earlier version better and uninstalled 4.0. I was so impressed with it that I made a $20 donation, which the developer thanked me for. Two emails with technical problems were unanswered. What's not to like? It's free.

"Excellent photo album viewer" Wonderfully efficient album viewer that beats the photo viewers that come with the digital cameras. It allows you to organize and place your photos on the hard disk as you want, not as the camera vendor wants. None that I have found. A fast, efficient digital photo handler, for those who do not want to be boxed in by camera vendors, and their desires to capture you. Small foot print, and intelligent programming.

"Amazing piece of utility!" I was an avid fan of Irfanview and thought nothing could probably beat it. Boy, I was wrong; FastStone won hands down to become my everyday essential app. Nothing comes to my mind. My only feature request to FastStone engineering is to jazz up the UI (as an example compare UI of like Adobe Bridge and Adobe Lightroom) to match the features and performance of this excellent product. If you roll features of Irfanview, Adobe Bridge, Snagit together and still manage to keep footprint under 5MB and very snappy performance, you get FastStone! My hats off to the developers who created such a wonderful product.

"Basically what I was looking for" Easy to use/user friendly, two different interface modes, various options and applications, and fairly efficient. None i can think of, well it stuck once, well a previous version did, about a year ago...that's about it. Download or not, if you prefer the Windows Picture Viewer then don't, but if you want something more that's easy to use, download.

"warning: Trojan.dropper attached" The other Faststone products are good Unable to comment (see below) I have downloaded this software twice, and both times my security software has detected a "Trojan.dropper" infection.I therefore suggest it be looked at for removal, as CNET states "spyware free".Otherwise a GREAT site. Thanks

Lots of options for managing digital image assets and I mean LOTS! Totally freeware and has a portable version that provides total compatibility with the native version. I have absolutely no gripes with this tool at all. Faststone Image Viewer has been around for along time now. It was more feature rich than image managers on the commercial and shareware segments by orders of magnitude and still reigns. I will never pay $90 or more for a media manager that has but a third of the functionality of this bad-boy and they're out there -- that takes nerve. This application is more akin to a suite of media management tools with batch file movement and naming options as well as enhancement tools. There are several viewer configurations and much more to round this thing off. If you don't have Adobe Bridge or like Picasa then this is the one for you. I have nothing against Picasa but, it is no Faststone the last time I checked. Things could have changed but there is a new version of FS Image Viewer in town and the power is all there. There is absolutely no spyware, nagware, or anyware except software with this tooling set. The developers aren't real verbose but, they believe in trying to get things done right the first time around. I've been using the Image Viewer since Windows 2000 Pro and I have yet to see a comparable product outside of Adobe and now Microsoft Expression Media. I have all three. Take care and enjoy your digital life in style with Faststone's Image Viewer. I tried to give it TEN stars.

"The Best One....bar none" Fast, more options than you can imagine. Great selection of filters if you use them. Haven't found anything that I don't like. I've used them all, but when you get used to the interface (bumps on the sides) there is none better or none much faster.

"Haven't used it very much, yet, but very good so far." Pretty easy to use. Nice results. Haven't found any yet. Was concerned about a previous comment on 'trojans' but haven't found anything.
