I used to use a shareware viewer. Faststone does everything I need for free and the latest version is even keyboard compatible with it. However the shareware felt faster because it prefetched the next photo and cached the thumb nails. Caution: lossless jpeg rotation changes one dimension of the resolution of the photo into a multiple of 8 on my PC.

"One word: GREAT!" fast, easy, skins and GOOD settings options. Only 2 parameters missing:for Batch conversion, [] use same folder as sourceand in Print: Print image index, select many images and print a matrix of X by Y images on a single page. Recommended!

"Fast, well structured and great on multi-monitors" I just got 2 monitors, it has great preview and view features using both monitors,Its fast, renaming batch files is brilliant eg Photos with real namesand its great for FULL screen slide shows Can be slow when accessing a large folder - unresponsive as it caches the thumbnails; which it has to do everytime, Irfanview is faster on this count, but not so aesthetically pretty Its FREEno nagsno hasslesGet it now

Cannot live without that little great utility. The program is well organized, resembles ACDSee before it became bloated, it is quite fast, and is very stable. I do no longer waste time and trash the hd with Picasa and such heavyweight applications when I can look and manage my pics' folders with FastStone.

"Superb program" Everything Not one thing is wrong with this program! This is such a great program I still cannot believe it is free. Have been using it for a long long time and will continue to do so. No one can come up with a better program than this, no matter how hard they try. Great stuff.

"Personly i dont like this application" do not know. First impression is very poor. not user frinedly at all Overall Im not happy. Free to try and see.

"Awesome tool that has travelled with me > 5 years" I like this program. It has a lot of features. I have a 64-bit machine running Vista and I am blessed to be able to do fast changes for all my web needs and graphic conversions including transparencies - also 10 additional advanced batch features Wish it would do animated gifs... Then the world would be a better place! Heck, it's already a better place becasue of FastStone Image Viewer. I'm impressed and keep it as part of my toolbox

"Great program for viewing pictures. Easy to use." I use this program all the time to work with my pictures. It is easy to use and has many features that I have not found it other programs. I especailly like the ease of moving or copying pictures between folders. I have not found anything that I don't like.

"Great for image evaluation with excellent documentation" The newer version allows you to view the histogram and exif data automatically for each image in full screen view. A right click on the full screen image allows it to be opened in an editor of your choice. The editing capabilities are a bit weak, but that is a minor issue for those that use a specific full capability editing program. The capabilities can not be beat for the price. The revised editions keep fixing minor issues such as the histogram available directly on the right fly-out menu.

"plain but great" Very fast, good functionality, decent image editor image editor is a bit basic, but hey, it's free, and it's better than other freebees Wonderful image browser, allows me to manage images and convert them into any format. Great on the hoof picture editor (esp on my Samsung NC10 Netbook)

"Great Photo Viewer Software" Easy to use program. Can manipulate photos and do other editing tasks. Seems to be one of the more feature enriched free programs available. For my use, just basic digital photography, I have not seen any cons yet. Happy with this software and the functions it contains!

"Splendid, simply splendid!" Of all free programs in the net this is the best in its class I've encountered. Simply and truly excellent! Occasionally I've problems with not being able to change the photos orientation.

1) Quick , Small and Light 2) Contains the basic viewer and limited functionality for crop etc, files can be exported to PSE 8 or other preferred editor for further editing. 3) Can open most of the file formats normally used. Poor Collection of skins and no support for the vista/Win7 transparency. Great software for quickly going thru the collection. I use it in parallel with PSE 8 organiser and use PSE 8 editor and for quickly viewing the files, i prefer Faststone. The file information and browsing options in the viewer are really handy. The only downside is the poor skin collection and support, some skins dont work too well with high DPI settings. I am currently using the Steel skin which makes the interface similar to PSE.
