I enjoy using the convert tool as it so easy to reduce the size of picture files for sending along with an email. The capture program is a valuable asset for me as it allows me to capture parts of pictures that I am viewing. None that I have come across

I used it a few times and it was ok. The program editing part disapeared and now I only have the viewer part. VERY disapointing. Maybe it is because I have Vista??? Do not recommend.

Fast thumbnail build, with many pro features like RAW file and dual monitor support.Very intuitive user interface None that I know of Have used this software as a default system viewer, as it has a small footprint, loads fast, is color aware, and is an excellent quick way to review RAW images without loading the 800 lb. gorilla.

Ease of use after initial orientation, Simple to do my viewing jobs. Good choice of controls. . Now my major jpg picture viewer and manipulator. The answer to my years of searching for a decent picture viewerL one that lets me be in control.. First view of the jumble of too many icons falsely puts you off from using it. . At first too a while to wade through the icons to make it do what I wnated. I searched years for a good slide viewer that lets me control what I want to see by my using windows explorer directories. Other viewers, Picassa, Windows media player, take over and add on their own pushy controls above my personally created picture directory and they gets in the way of doing the job simply. Happy to have FastStone as my main picture viewer.

Easy to learn, maybe because I have used it in the past and does what it says: makes it easy to to view all your images. No major cons

Crop, resize, red eye, e mail, 4 photo compare, and much more absolutely none I've been using this viewer for years now, and it just keeps getting better. Everything is one touch simple, the interface is the most intuitive I've ever used. it just does everything you would want a viewer to do. Even does some cool basic editing. I've tried others, but still prefer FastStone. I even donated to their cause to encourage them to keep supporting it.HIGHLY recommend this program!

Reads RAW files which, as a professional, I shoot exclusively. Loads very rapidly too. None that I've found in several years of using. It's perfect for me, it loads rapidly and works with every type of image file that I've found. If I need to modify images, which I spend hours a week doing, I use PhotoShop CS5. There's also a pretty good slideshow generator built into FastStone; you can add music and burn from it.

Features and interface. It's not working at all with my Windows 7 HP 64-bit I've used this program for years and it is my default photo viewing and editing program. I have two different computers, both running Windows 7 HP. One computer is 32-bit, and the other is 64-bit. On the 32-bit computer, I've lost the ability to change the background colors of the screen and the font colors. On the 64-bit, this program does not work AT ALL (nor do a lot of others I previously used), and I can't find a fix. When I try to open a photo I get the error message that it's "valid win32 application." I'm then forced to use Windows Photo Viewer which, of course, does not have the capabilities of FastStone. Hours of research haven't produced anything that addresses the specific programs I'm getting this error for. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling, to no avail. So since my review is based on my previous positive experience with Fast Stone, I'm giving it 4 stars, to let people know that it's a very good program. If I could use it, I know I'd be giving it the full five stars.

Free. Makes great looking slideshows, with or without transitions. Very customizable. The only thing I couldn't do was add captions to each picture. Powerful, fast, simple, free. The only thing I would've liked would have been the option to add captions. I'll use this often!

I've not used FastStone for very long, but so far it looks like it's exactly what I want in an image manipulation program. I really like the way the full-screen view is done. I keep my photos on an NAS. When I have FS pull images from the NAS it works fine, manipulates them exactly as I wish, then refuses to save the edited file back to the NAS. NOT nice. I've written support, but received no response. This appears to be a great application, and if you keep all of your photos on your primary computer you'll likely enjoy using it. For those of us working over a network there may be better choices, at least until FS gets fixed or a workaround can be found.

FastStone edits images full-screen (pop-out menues). Images are ready edit instantly. You get popular features like sharpening, brightness, and contrast, plus color manipulation, rotation by degrees, crop, undue, and lots more. There are no layers, photoshop-like features, print layout features are limited. It's free but you will be asked for a donation after 30 days -- program still works fine retains all features. I've used FastStone for 3 years now. Unless you need the detailed features of Photoshop, this program is as good as it gets. I am an advanced amateur and love the speed and ease you can edit 99 percent of your photos. By using the full screen it's easy to check details know exactly what you'll get when you're finished. It's easy to create sub-directories and copy/move your photos to the right place. FastStone is more than a simple viewer -- it's my go-to editor. I sincerely recommend giving it a try -- there's no learning curve and a lot to enjoy.

Very impressive photo viewer and organizer. Very fast, and with the portable version, you can take your favorite viewer where ever you go. Includes higher end tools like batch rename and image rotation. EXIF support is only OK. You can view and remove EXIF data, but not modify it.RAW viewing defaults to the embedded thumbnail, which is fine, but viewing the full RAW image takes quite a bit of CPU time. Overall, there's absolutely no question in my mind that everyone reading this review should download and install FastStone Image Viewer. Even if you have other viewing and editing software installed (I have four of each), this quick, lightweight -- and if you swing that way, portable -- software is an excellent choice.
