Diskeeper 2009 13.0.844

Diskeeper 2009 by Executive Software Screenshot Diskeeper 2009 Screenshot

Diskeeper is an automatic disk defragmenter that features scheduling and a high level of configuration ability, and can defragment even critical system files. Fragmentation occurs during normal Windows operation, as files are broken up in pieces and saved on different parts of the hard disk. This increases the amount of time it takes to access single files, and bogs down system performance.

"An excellent program that justifies the price." An excellent program. Had to find a good one that worked on windows7. Its fast and efficient with manual tool too. I like a good program that when set correctly can go its job proficiently. I would reccomend DiscKeeper to my friends and businesses. Comes with a price. After running it I did not regret the programs value in its performance.

"Great product for managing disk fragmentation" The range of options is very impressive So far can't fault Diskeeper. some might accuse all the options being a little complex but you'd have to be lazy to make that complaint.

I have been using the older 09 version on my 3 computers and I would NOT use anything else super effective & worth ever $ The 10 version is even BETTER free programes MIGHT be ok for home use, for Business & I have tried others it can NOT be outdone ABSOLUTLY NONE! that I can find still looking? Boot time feature with the option to run chkdisk is outstanding simplicity of controls and information / logs are fantastic even the old HP Notebook running an old T2050 @ 1.6Ghz with 1GB Ram has had a new lease of life and my Fast Dual Cores love it! Recomeded to all

Does a good job at what it does If you "exceed the maximum number of installations" it no longer works, advises you to contact customer support, and good luck with that! If you "exceed the maximum number of installations" i.e. if you have to reinstall it too many times, after reformatting your hard drives, getting new computer, swapping out hard drives, or just trying to get the thing to work right, it shuts down, advises you to contact their "Customer Support". Good luck with that, have sent three emails, absolutely no response, and of course no phone number to call. I advise going with Auslogics Disc Defrag, a free program that does just as well and isn't so paranoid that they put the almightly dollar above their customer's satisfaction. Never again, Diskeeper.

""Floss for your computer"" Outstanding performance gain! NONE so far. Using diskeeper for your computer is like using floss to prevent cavaties. Having diskeeper is essential !!!

What I liked about this product is it USED to be good. The "new marvelous improved" version of Diskeeper is just awful! It moves things that don't need moving and takes FOREVER to get anything done. It eats up my disk bandwitch and CPU power. It's like the Diskeeper people lost their minds...and soul. DIskeeper got a reputation for doing what Microsoft didn't or wouldn't provide in the base operating system. Well, Diskeeper is still doing that. Diskeeper is paying no attention to how much disk bandwidth and CPU bandwidth it uses while insisting you pay for the degradation of your machine. Microsft isn't adding useless background bandwidth consumption; only Diskeeper is. The problem is -- THAT'S NOT ADDED VALUE. Even the boot defragmenter doesn't do what it used to do -- it's been emasculated. The stuff that's been added in the past 5 years is like "hey, buy this year's version, we've got cupholders in the carburetor". It's like SOMEBODY wants this stuff, just not me. What I want is a defragmenter that does its job and then keeps its nose out of my computer. Diskeeper used to do that. Diskeeper doesn't do that anymore. Off to download my free copy of the GNU defragmenter.

Works great. My drive has stayed at 0.1 percent fragmentation, and all system files and boot files stay at the begining of drive. Couldn't ask for more, except reliable customer service. Other reviewers who've purchased it say it deactivates after 5 installs. I've had programs like that and just will not tolerate it. Unacceptable. The vendor has your disk signature, and your pc motherboard I.D. Not recommended unless the company replies to the man's complaint. If you rebuild often which is a good practice if you're set up right with all your data on a separate partition, you would regret the purchase. Glad I read that. Diskkeeper is a no-go for that. If you're reading, tell your customer support staff to stop setting on their hands, pull their pants up above their buttocks, hat on forwards, and get to work.

Diskeeper is running a special for $10 off Diskeeper 2010 Professional edition for Memorial Day. With this release they are taking a proactive approach by preventing the fragmentation up front. Great product. http://bit.ly/ayd2e0

The fully automated defrag works like a charm. There are additional nice features such as intelliwrite. Diskeeper promises an 85% prevention rate. I have noticed that i'm having 90-95%. That's Very good! What's everybody complaining about? It's a great program definitely worth paying for, it's the best solution to keep your computer, fast & your hard drive safe & secure without ever needing to press a button. I also love the extensive logs where you can actually view all the specific details you would otherwise miss with several freeware programs. Don't listen to naggers. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this program. The internet simply consists of IDIOTS that would rather blame a product for their incompetence of not knowing how to maintain a pc & worst of all, not even realizing it, THEY are at fault, NOT the program. This program is clean, quick & doesn't overload your CPU at all. I'm running a Quad Core setup & my Cpu usage never goes above 1-2% while the program is heavily defragmenting during an automated process.

I think together with PerfectDisk these 2 are the best defragment software available :) I try both but I prefer PerfectDisk.. Dont have any problems with trial

I liked the trial version so much that I upgraded to the paid version, which I've used for approx 3 years. It uses minimal resources, does what it says it will do, with little or no user interface, yet offers plenty of user options if desired. It won't defrag selected/individual files. I think Defraggler is the only current product that will do that. The Intelliwrite feature, which prevents fragmentation before it happens, is awesome. I recently renewed my maintenance option for another year, so that pretty much says it all. :) Updated on Aug 19, 2010

I never know it is there and working. Does not interfere with any other program. None I can find to date. I have used Diskeeper for a number of years and would recommend it highly.

Does quite a good job of defragging my hard drives but not my SSD drive When I uninstalled it I got what a lot of other tryers got, a message early into bootup saying "AutoNFTS not found - Skipping autocheck" I can not get rid of this message and nor can a lot of others judging by the postings on the internet. I hate programs that do not do a complete clean uninstall without leaving behind detritis in the form of changes to my computer, in this case, my registry. Now it seems I am stuck with a perpetual reminder until my next format and windows, (7 Pro 64 bit) reinstall.

Reviewing Diskeeper 2010 Premier Pro v14.0.909.0 on Windows XP SP3 (32bit/x86) I've been a user of mstDefrag for the last 3-4 years and have also used O&O Professional, PerfectDisk, myDefrag, UltraDefrag, and Defraggler but I think this is the best. Advantages: 1. The automatic defrag and proactive defrag prevention actually work (unlike other programs that claim to do it) set it and forget it. 2. Ability to defrag Windows system files, boot files, and Hard Disk MFT. 3. Quite fast at a full manual defrag compared to others I have used. 4. Lots of options, features, and config settings. 5. Noticeable increase in system performance. Disadvantages: 1. Bloated GUI. 2. Memory usage on the Diskeeper Service (DkService.exe) [which facilitates the automatic defrag etc] is 52,000k+ regardless of whether program is running or not. The program itself (mmc.exe) takes around 16,000k when running. 3. The "Volume Health and Recommendations" are well off the mark, and overly sensitive. 4. Troublesome to activate. I am not an expert by any means, just thought I would share my thoughts.

Automatic, pre-empativek fight against defragmention (IntelliWrite technology) None at all I had to ditch PerfectDisk 2010 as it could not handle the defragmention of my other harddisk. The problem was with the system partition, which was so badly fragmented that even the trial version of Perfect Disk 2011 was absolutely of no help. After several online and offline defragmentations the performance of the C-drive still stayed poorl, and Perfect Disk reported this itself. Then i decided to try Diskeeper as it had a good reputation as being one of the best and professional solution for the fight against the defragmention of harddisk drives.I first tried the Diskeeper Pro Premium 2010 but soon changed it to the trial version of the Professional, which was clearly more reasonably priced and it offered more than enough power for a home user. It takes good care of my 2 500gb WD harddisks, that are in 4 partitions together. It also resolved the problems i had with my system C drive, and the whole computer is now much faster to work with. After a few days of using the trial version of Diskeeper Professional 2010 it was easy to decide to buy a license, and i see it one of the best investments i have made for a long time. The computer stays running fast , thanks to the automatic "IntelliWrite" defragment taking place in the background constantly while the computer is in use. This program is the best choice of its class for my current needs. 5 stars!

Wait, I'm thinking. I guess "set and forget" is the best I can say for DK10. But that implies putting your head in the sand. I ran Diskeeper 9 on a laptop and credit DK9 with extending the laptop life out to 6-1/2 years. But, DK10??? Read on. Subjective: it runs too much. Way too much. I've had all the bells and whistles turned on for over a week - and let in run overnight at least twice. It's still grinding away. How is THAT saving my hard drive? I think not. I've had all the bells and whistles turned on for well over a week - and let DK10 run overnight at least twice because I sensed (through a HD monitor gadget and DK10's own reports) that it had some defrag work to do. Today it's still running (per Task Manager) and running. How is THAT saving my hard drive? I think not. Plus, I find it's analysis reports contradictory - graphs and text explanations are often at odds. Another example: on a 1 TB drive (for large data files) with 28% free space, the analysis graph shows maybe 1% of the HD space as Low Performing. Why wasn't that fixed in TWO overnight sessions? Wish I had a computer science degree to know what this product actually does. Somebody here wrote: "electromechanical masturbation." I tend to agree.

The only thing more corrupt than the code that went into this thing is my hard drive after running it. I'll stick with mst Defrag. It's far cheaper, and it works great. And as far as I know, the author isn't a proselytizing religious nut.

1) Affordability 2) Results 3) Ease of use Nothing to mention. Absolutely the best software program I have ever invested in. The interface is easy to understand and use, but most importantly the results are magnificent. My three computers run Diskeeper and they perform much better since I've installed the program. My experience with maintenance software published by companies outside of Microsoft hasn't been good, but Diskeeper is head and shoulders above anything that I have encountered in 15 years of computing. The Gold Standard of utilities in my opinion.
