Diskeeper 2009 13.0.844

Diskeeper is an automatic disk defragmenter that features scheduling and a high level of configuration ability, and can defragment even critical system files. Fragmentation occurs during normal Windows operation, as files are broken up in pieces and saved on different parts of the hard disk. This increases the amount of time it takes to access single files, and bogs down system performance.

Hah... I've also experienced serious corruption of NTFS volumes after using Diskeeper's offline defrag feature. And I've seen it happen with multiple versions of Diskeeper. I'll never trust it again.

Love it - never a problem.

Works ok. In my opinion bloated and no major change from previous versions, not worth any paid upgrade. Product activation is another aggravation - no thanks.

2009 version is just slightly better than 2008, so i will stay with 2008. I don't think it is worth to do upgrade. But is nice program and i did not had any problems with it, so i give 4 rating.

Diskeeper 2008 Pro user since it was released last year, and now currently trying out the 2009 Pro version on XP. To cut a long story short: DK 2009 Pro is awesome. The defrag engine has been tweaked some more, and is blazing fast. Defrags all three drives at the same time, without bringing the system down to a crawl. One of the non-system drives had only 7% free space, but DK 2009 managed to defrag it fully without breaking into a sweat. Not many defraggers can do that. Finally, a welcome inclusion of file placement algorithms in the 2009 Pro edition. This is the best defragger I've used. Highly recommended!

If you get it to work correctly should be a fairly good utility definitely not the best of the best. On my computer I still have to figure out why boot-time defrag stops with an unexpected error 0xc0000043 and how to correct it. I 'm welcoming any help. I'm running DK pro premier 2009. Thanks.

This is not a product review, but rather a review on the company. Recently, Diskeeper has been accused of forcing their employees to either take part in Scientology training, or be laid off. Regardless if it's Scientology, Christianity, Buddhism, or any other belief, this is discrimination and is not acceptable from any corporation. http://www.google.com/ne...cientology&ie=UTF-8

For weya1b0: if still interesting in 0xC0000043 solution, make this steps: 1.Disable Antivirus self defense 2.Find key in regstry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\KLIF] "Start"=dword:00000001 change to "Start"=dword:00000003 3. Set Diskeeper to Boot-time defrag 4. Restart PC 5. Boot-time started normaly, phase 3 iniatialised, defragmentation work. 6. After defrag, set registry back to "Start"=dword:00000001. 7.Restart PC, enable antivirus self defense.

Thanks to jahamaville for the heads up. This should be called the Scientology Defrag. No thanks, keep your religion out of your company and out of my HDD

I've used Diskeeper professional 2009 since its release last year, and it's one of the best performing and most trouble-free utilities I have on my system. It's unintrusive, doesn't conflict with any other application and simply does a fantastic job of keeping the drives tidy. Highly recommended.

I love most of the things that it can do to defrag HD including external HDs or USB devices and can manage them automatically. Slow program activation. I don't like their activation way by using license.dal. I bought the software with no license key but got a license.dat instad.Sometimes its difficult to activate it I can't find any direct activation of the software. Have to wait sometimes later for auto-detection of the license.dal and have to wait for verification. Its really not convenient and not user friendly. (ps: this case is not for those have a license key)

Easy to use, runs in the background, no overhead and great support No manual defragmentation scheduling option I switched to Diskeeper from Perfect Disk about 2 years ago and am glad I did. The Diskeeper product is easier to use and the results I am seeing far surpasses anything I saw with Perfect Disk. Plus, when I ran into some problems with Diskeeper, Tech Support quickly resolved my issue in a friendly manner. I can't wait to see what feature will be available in the next version of Diskeeper.

"Efficient Program" Cost and background resources usage I am unsure if I have to start it from the START MENU everytime or load it at start I really like its ability to operate in the background,

"Bloatware, doesn't support Win 2000" Can't say, since it didn't run One large package even if you only want defrag, hence big download, takes forever to decompress itself, etc., only then checks the version of Windows. Unlike what the CNET site says, it then announces that it does not support Win 2000. Bloatware, doesn't support Win 2000, older versions that might are unavailable. Don't go near it if all you want is a defragmenter.

"Love it..." I have been using Diskeeper since 04 in conjunction with Cyberscrub (since version 3.5) on my computers (custom builds) and laptop. My systems and laptop have been running flawlessly (XP and Vista) for many years and they perform as good as new. None to think of. Degrag is quick and unnoticeable, manual defrag is very quick.Well worth the investment.

"Looks like it does a lot, but..." Has anyone done any type of performance tests to measure whether this program actually improves performance more than Windows built in Defrag utility? I would becurious to see the results. Too many options for the average home computer user. Paying a decent amount of money for an app that may not do any more than Windows does for itself.

They hit a home run with this 2010 version. The home version works great unless you need the pro version for a business. Integrates well with Windows 7. It actually reduced my boot-up time by almost a minute.
