Great user interface. For a home user that knows nothing of architecture or engineering, it looks fantastic. I have all the tools I need and it renders perfectly everything I design. I could not find many objects to use, such as furniture, but that could just be me. I have nothing negative, no cons for this program! It is free. It REALLY is free. No ad-ware, no catches, no limitations. FREE. You can design high-quality specs with this amazing and easy-to-use program. It is so accurate, I used the drawings I created for my contractor to fix up my house as I had planned. Oh, the 3D window is hard to control for dummies like me :) Superb.

fairly intuitive, which is important to new users. resizing to fit failrly easy. like the 3d feature- much easier than some to use. not easiest to import objects ( hint is to use to ,obj file- the others don't work.) Also imported objects don't show up in the list of objects at the bottom- this list is really handy if you decide to change something as it lists the dimensions, easy to use, intuitive, quick to make changes (except with imported objects) ; takes a bit of trail and error with imported objects to get them right.

Easy to use, multitude of existing textures, furniture etc, or design your own.Instructions are easy to follow, and intuitive. Slightly difficult to control zooming, 3D perspective viewing, and placing the furniture isn't always the easiest. I enjoy using this on both my MAC and my PC, and I can of course simply move files from one platform to the other no hassles.

This product has the basic tools you need to plan the lay out for a room. Basic furniture package included. It takes a little practice to learn how to adjust sizes of objects and how to input doors and windows, the product could use a tutorial. However, once you figure it out it's relatively easy Useful for basic floor plans and layouts.

Sweet! And there's no point arguing about Java, anymore. Sure it's a technology who's day never came; yes it's pretty slow; the Java plugin is a major cause of browser crashes, etc. etc. But this app works extremely well and it's free. What's there to complain about?

I like the 3D part helps with layouts Helps with simple layouts but I don't think it would help as a building plan Helped me plan an addition by creating several layouts and placing the furniture could get a realistic feel for size and space.

It seems to have most all that you need to do a nice job with it. I haven't found any real cons yet.

Seemed like it would have worked except for the issue stated below. The design template measurements were in "feet" only. I could not find an option to change the measurements to inches. It also downloaded Weatherbug without my permission and made "Ask.com" my homepage. Didn't appreciate that. If you don't need measurements in inches, it would probably work well for someone.

Able to lay out the whole place, even download extra models as needed. 3D effects can bog down a slower computer. It's functionality rivals the commercial product I used to own, but have since misplaced.

Allows you to easily change the dimensions of rooms/walls/objects; Shows a 3D image while you are working in 2D, easily draw dimensions and place common household items such as kitchen appliances, tables, beds, bathroom fixtures, etc. I haven't figured out how to flip the way a door opens in the 2D drawing. I can only get it to rotate, not flip on the horizontal axis. This may just be user error on my part. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for making this free and for the MAC!!!!!! I draw home designs as just a side hobby and can't afford/don't need specialty CAD programs. I tried Google Sketch-up, but this is so much easier for drawing house designs. This is a perfect solution and I can't be happier that I found this software!

You can measure out the size of a space, and drop in furniture to your own specific dimensions, and see how your room can work. It's easy to figure out, and fun to use. 3D vision is fantastic! The furniture options were limited. I used this program years ago, and it was great then. Using this updated version, it's improved a lot. I am very thankful for this freeware!

It's a fair program. About Java, what do you have against it ? I'ts a nice language. If you want to see a beautiful interface, take a look at JSoko. Regards. Maurizio.
