Continues to improve with each build. They added some new system alert thing, which could be ok for some users, however not everyones cup of tea! At least there is a easy way to disable that feature should you decide not to use it. I would have preferred an option to choose weather to install that component or not during the initial install.

"seems a good system but takes up to 6 hrs to do a bit slow"

The product remains good. The support has gone down hill. The developers need to move up a gear! They just don't seem to put an effort into def files for the latest products. To-date they still have not done anything for Firefox 3! some 23 days after release! CCleaner developers on the other hand seem more on the ball, and even supported the cleaning of Firefox 3 well before release! - Good on their team.

"good protection, up to date glossy design" After having used the program for about a week I definitely got to see the junk that it spares me of. Good protection in my opinion, a lot of programs cleaned of traces. Glossy is not exactly my cup of tea so the design gets a B-.

I can feel absolutely safe knowing that all invoices and finacial records are destroyed using East-Tec Eraser 2009. The disc wipe is a great advantage when disposing of old hard drives and computers The annoying "Risk Monitor" warnings everytime I log-on. I know when I need to erase data and do not need this little icon. I have used this product since 2006 and found it to be an excellent application for destroying data such as financial dealings, invoices, personal e-mails and surfing traces. I have used the "Wipe entire drives" with great effect when changing hard drives or disposing of computers. Knowing that some drives end up in the wrong hands in India etc...I can feel secure knowing my data is successfully erased!

"Amazing, absolutely amazing and it's the free edition" I downloaded East-Tec Eraser from dotTech and hey Presto! 35Gb returns from shadow copies and deleted but not erased files! After a complete disk clean by East-Tec Eraser my PC has 35 extra Gb How utterly blooming fantastic What a marvellous product! What's to dislike about a product that does what it says it will?

"Danger - Black Hole!" If you are REALLY quick, you can cancel the cleaning before you lose too much that you want to keep. " Eraser goes beyond the U.S. Department of Defense standards for the permanent erasure of digital information and removes every trace of sensitive data from your computer." Select "Basic - Recommended for most users", and a ton of stuff is gone forever! You will get NO WARNING, NO CHOICE,& NO CLUE to what is about to PERMANENTLY DISAPPEAR from your machine. Never again, thank you.

I've used ET Eraser for several years. I've tried other products but always return to ET because it is comprehensive and thorough. They have responsive customer support when you need to ask about a question or feature. Good upgrade policy. Nothing I can think of. Updated on Dec 3, 2009 It's close to a week since I've installed the application and while I still believe it's great and one of the best, I've learned that it doesn't erase shadow copies in Vista & Win7 64-bit. That is a significant and serious limitation. However, that being said, I don't know of any other eraser programs that dispose of shadow copies in either 32 or 64-bit Vista and Win 7. Your only alternative at this point for full security with ET Eraser 2010 is to use the 32-bit versions of the operating system. Also, right click menu integration no longer works, but I am not sure if that is a Win7 or 64-bit problem.

I like it so much because, besides being really important and effective about its job, it is quite easy to be used both for Home users and business users. At least by now, I can't view any cons. It is so as efficient as fast that no weak side is pointed out. If you wish your PC or Laptop to be in good form, you must give a look to East-Tec Eraser 2010. It is able to clean them perfectly from all the junk and unuseful files which inevitably slow down their work. I've been using it for three years and more and must say it is absolutely reliable in this kind of job. You can find a lot of similar privacy software all around, but, believe me, East-Tec Eraser 2010 is the champion. It can easily get the gold medal.

I like knowing I can wipe out all traces of my personal info on the computer in the most secure way possible. The price is fair for what this program can do, and it offers a lot of choices as to how in depth you want to be. It isn't quite as user friendly as I would like....it has a few areas for wiping traces of gmail, hotmail and windows mail that are kind of confusing, and it takes a few tries to get it right!

Good product. Works as well as any out there. In uninstall gives option to get it for free. Attempted to get it using the free TrialPay offer. It took my email address and then displayed no other otion to complete and get the program for free. Anybody know how to get the TrialPay offer?

According to the change log it supports Firefox 4 Beta - I am running 4 beta 5 and it does not recognise it as installed! - other than that still a good app for what it does. - 1 star for no Firefox 4 beta support! Change Log: New and updated sensitive areas in Privacy Guard: Mozilla Firefox 4 Beta, Mozilla Firefox 3, Internet Explorer, Google Toolbar, DivX Plus Player, Windows Live Mail, Skype 5 Beta, MSN Messenger, avast! Home Edition and more.

It worked well for about 9 months Buggy; doesn't work well since late 2010 versions and absolutely NO support Very buggy since late 2010. Freezes my computer, doesn't run when you try to run it, hits you with free trial prompts even though you bought it. "Support" means email that they don't answer or getting a message machine to leave a voice message they won't return.

Although a good app, it's annoying that they don't keep fully up-to-date and support thew latest browsers. With the dev cycle speeding up these days, this is a must. They refuse to support any browser other than released! Strange when things like firefox nightly etc don't use different paths..
