excellent notepad to work all in one. It would better if stepwise guide to all functions is provided for beginners help.

It beats using Notepad. I wish there was more guidance as to how to build syntax highlighting for different file types. It does what it says it does.

Great design; Great functioning None for now I love this new Notepad. Before, I had the old Notepad and all you could do was save and copy & paste. Now you can do literally everything- it's like a mini Microsoft Word. I still haven't seen how insert pictures though, I do not know if this option will be available. It's just great :}

I love this program, i used it back in high school for my HTML classes, and downloaded it for my collage XML class.It color codes your code depending on what kind of file it is.helps keep tags organized The only thing they could do to make it better is have it write the code for you A must have for anyone using markup languages

So much support for different programming languages Can't think of any at the moment This is a great development tool. We can copy code into this product and set the language. This makes it easy for us to use.

Support for many character encodings; good syntax highlighting which is language sensitive -- lots of languages are supported by default. It also allows for custom languages to be added easily. Good plug-ins and fast with a small memory footprint. The biggest hassle I found was getting it to replace 'notepad'. I'm not sure if this is an app problem or a windoze issue (I'm more convinced it is the latter). After finally getting it to work, it has been great. This tool has most of the helpful features of the top-quality code editors; in particular all of the really helpful ones. It does this without the slow startup or slow operation.It easily can replace most code editors in quality and speed and is a fantastic upgrade to replace the default notepad app in windoze. I highly recommend folks to give this a go.As far as services, the one thing it is missing is a "merge" functionality. It has 'comparison' tools, but it would be *excellent* to upgrade it so you can merge between two files right in the editor. My only other beef is that the 'hex' editor plug-in seems to have disappeared. I managed to find an old version and it mostly works, but is likely not quite implementing the new plug-in API or something. Every once in a while it crashes. This could be easily fixed I think if it was maintained.The only feature I can think of that would be helpful is to allow the overlay of custom key commands. I'm an emacs user on *nix machines and it would be fantastic to be able to have the same key-bindings for emacs drive notepad++.

Compact little programs with all the extra's you will need. Absolutely none at all. Easy to download, easy to install, easy to set up, works like a charm. Handling several documents at one time is a dream come true. Nice editing of documents. You can't really go wrong with this product. So sit down and download and put it to work for you!

Fast, handles fairly large files, good at formatting lots of different formats, especially handy at keeping track of nested parentheses, multiple files at once, remembers them all when restarted, can tile different files for comparison... Can't think of anything

the best multi-purpose text editor that had never let me down.Syntax highlighting, multiple language support, portable, fast, real-time selection of all occurrences of a text, collapsible region, highly customizable, reg-ex based search, plugins - Auto updater is not configureable- Plugin manager plugin can be irritating sometimes. Get it!

Works with all sorts of files, easy to use, easy to figure out the special features. The only format I've found it couldn't deal with was Microsoft Word. Useful and flexible, and doesn't eat up too many resources.

Color per tag, lightweight, free Missing a list of tags to use. Compared to Dreamweaver CS4

The tabbed notepad is great if your using it to take notes, or as an HTML editor. It integrates seamlessly into windows explorer and has more options than you can shake a stick at, but is still so easy to use that anyone can benefit from it. havent found any cons thus far, but can see how someone that would go through the options could easily get confused if they dont know what their doing. bottom line is theres no reason to have Microsoft's notepad as the default text editor on your computer as long as theres a notepad++ out there.
