KeePass Password Safe is a free/open-source password safe or manager which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish).

I looked for a product to sync with my Android HTC Hero so I could have a password manager on my PC and phone. I found two that cost over $30.00 that compared to Keepass. This price is definitely better! Bit of a learning curve to sync the PC with phone. Could not find my help online. You can sync by exporting the "KeePass.kdb" file to the Hero's SD card. After I figured that out, I found the product very easy to use. I love this product. I typed in all my passwords on the Desktop (mush easier than entering into the phone manually), and then sync'd. My passwords were transferred seamlessly. Data entry interface is intuitive and simple. Can make separate folders for internet, email, home banking, etc. You can set expire dates for passwords. Sort by name, password, notes, etc. Duplicate entries and copy them to separate folders. Can auto-generate passwords. Great tool!

Great. I despise version 2 for its .NET slowness and general crapitude, but this version is brilliance.

It is reassuring to be able to copy passwords and paste them into websites as needed. Not only quick, but also safe from any keystroke-logger which might be trying to pick up a password or two. My only concern is that a keystroke-logger might be able to track down the password which HAS too be typed in to give access to your stored passwords.

Easy to use. Create your own Groups. Clear and Simple Interface. The "Perform Auto-Type" speeds up the process of logging in. No need to search for a different Password Storage System. This is Safe and Secure. I would not use it otherwise. The only thing I have had trouble with was restoring my data after I formatted my hard drive. I thought I backed up everything but for some reason the only file I couldn't restore was my database. I think that was my fault. These details are in the PROS Summary. I can highly recommend KeePass Password Safe. However after what Wikileaks has acheived I guess nothing is 100% safe but I'm not a back-stabbing, two-faced politician am I. LMAO. Listen. If you are still jotting down your passwords on a notepad like I use to do, STOP NOW. This Password Storage Software is by far a superior and more secure method for keeping your passwords safe and on hand. Just remember to back it up every now and then. It's a long process to re-enter the details if you have to. Cheers to all!

The interface is very intuitive. Provides password groups for easy organization. Can open the desired URL and then copy & paste both the user name and password into the application. Has all that I needed. No shortcomings for me. KeePass Password Safe provides a simple, yet complete and secure password storage system. It provides groups to organize multiple passwords, ability to copy & paste the user name and password into the applicaiton Can also print or export the password list if one wants to have a back-up copy. A great product and its free.

Best of its class. Avoid the version 2 like the plague. Slower and without extra functionality. In fact, .NET should be forbidden. Some exceptions (paint.net one of them), products compiled in .NET are pathetic. This version is the one to choose.

Easy to install, run, update, and operate. Very light-weight program. I'm totally dependent on KeePass now. I also use the pen-drive version when traveling and works like a charm. None I could find. If you have passwords all over the place and don't want to have almost every site (including banks, credit cards, etc.) with the same password (only way to remember,) KeePass is the best solution I could find. Highly recommended.
