As to CIS- its firewall & HIPS (Defense+) are excellent, but its antivirus lacks strong heuristics & its database (blacklist sigs) is second tier at best.

The changelog for the betas is in the beta section of their forum. I have found that the current beta has a few issues for me. It doubles the startup/shutdown time and blocks programs (avant browser for example gets blocked sometimes but not everytime) despite permissions being given. These are not issues with the non beta version. The progress looks good but this beta is not quite ready to use on a your main install. I

Good internet secuity, although I can't seem to find how to remove a previously blocked application from the block list.

Install AFTER you make a backup image of your os BEFORE this POS. I didn't and the fw didn't come with an uninstaller, NOR would it let me remove it from the reg and therefore I could not even install a different fw. I truly believe this is the biggest pile of crap ever made. Gui is a clusterflucked mess and so is comodo group. Sorry I gave it another chance AVOID

version 3.8 will have heuristics, whitelising database and many other exciing featuers when it's released Feb. 10th As to CIS- its firewall & HIPS (Defense+) are excellent, but its antivirus lacks strong heuristics & its database (blacklist sigs) is second tier at best.

Good keeps getting better. No problems on Vista. Release notes http://forums.comodo.com..._released-t34345.0.html

I just finished a full virus scan of 162,753 files. 68 false positives were reported with heuristics turned on and the same number when turned off. Many of the FPs were TuneUp Utilities files which were previously reported. I do like CIS, but verifying 68 files is just too much! How can one be *really* sure of every single file? I am starting to feel like I am my own AV program. And don't forget about the users out there that are taking these alerts at face value. Finally, it is still necessary to disable AV to prevent interfering with disk defragmenting even though COMODO was notified prior to the release of v3.8. This is not a universal problem. Avast! does handle it properly. Perhaps using CIS firewall and Defense+ with a different AV program would solve these problems if no other solutions become available. COMODO doesn't appear to be in a hurry to remove these AV errors even though a "new" database is downloaded daily. Judging from their forum, they may have their hands full trying to solve other program problems.

no problems here running on vista cpu usage not running high at all, smooth as a .................

Problem with this version, same as last release. Very high CPU usage, shooting up to nearly 30% at times. Had to fall back to version 3.5.57173.439, which does not have constant. CPU activity. Still rates 5 stars, I know COmodo will fix it.

I"ve been using it as a firewall and it does its job well.

Here are the changes for this update: FIXED! AV engine crashes while scanning some files FIXED! Firewall blocks all the traffic in some vista PCs when checksum verification is enabled FIXED! Some applications consume 100% CPU while CIS is installed I don't have the above issues, but still get 68 FPs and still can't defrag until AV is disabled. And to add a little insult, this update added a second identical entry to the startup files list. Avast! will be handling COMODO's AV duties until that portion of the program becomes dependable.

If you read the Comodo forum you will see over 20 pages of bug reports on the various facets of this program. C'mon now folks, does anyone really believe these are mostly user problems caused by "poorly configured computers and OSs"? And who runs a computer without 3rd party software? Let's be realistic, Comodo has many problems to solve before this program can be safely used. With regard to fixing problems promptly, the TuneUp Utilities alerts were first reported to Comodo several weeks ago.

Still waiting for the latest from matousec. It's more leak resistant than Online Armor Free and Outpost, but less than OA Pro. Definitely do not install the AV, set def+ to safe mode, and block everything. Bingo! Improved uninstaller, lite on resources. Compatible with Avira Premium, etc.

This release fixed some issues that make it worthwhile to download. I like the way Comodo stays on top of issues, and promptly fixes them. The program runs fast and smoothly. I suspect a lot of complaints about CIS are poorly configured computers, OS, and 3rd party software.

Comodo internet Security slows down computer considerably, so my advice is to use Firewall and possibly Defense+ HIPS without antivirus.

Rated 30/50 by LakotaElf at Feb 20, 2009

I think for myself this software is over rated greatly and I had nothing but allot of trouble with it where I did not with other software. It is not easy to configure or work with at all and a new person would have difficulty. I also do not like the fact that many companies are integrating firewalls, anti virus etc together. I like them separated, I think they are better that way.

Have been using the firewall components and they work quit well.

Seems like an awful lot of Comodo's employees posting reviews. No one who has ever used their AV could possibly give this a high rating ... unless they are being paid to do so! That said - the FW is pretty damn good.

I had used it for the last 3days. everything seems fine, did not slow down my system(in fact better then my previous paid Mcafee Internet Security 08). Must b patience with the alert and go through everything, then now there is very much less alert today. I would recommend to all but you must have patience, As for the AV, I think is OK as it is able to detect 1 which mcafee and other online scanner are unable to detect.

5 stars for the Firewall and Defense + , this should be the centre piece of your security set up, and soon to include BoClean as well. Yes the antivirus has a bit of a way to go to prove itself. However to say "Seems like an awful lot of Comodo's employees posting reviews. No one who has ever used their AV could possibly give this a high rating ... unless they are being paid to do so!" as a previous poster has said is completely ridiculous. Going by that type of assumption are we to assume that all negative comments are written by employees of Symantec, Nod, Avast, Avira, and the like.
