Used CIS for awhile and was very happy. Tried to have Shields Up get through to my PC but they couldn't. I switched back to ZoneAlarm cause of less mem being used and Shields Up still can't get through. I used ZoneAlarm for so long that I have a hard time switching to anything else. I have not had any problems with either product. CIS is a great product.

sandbox does not work slowed my pc down 3 ghz

I like this informative firewall, but the sandbox is a little weird. Doesn't seem to be any way to delete files from it. Purge non-existent files or restore good ones. What about the bad ones?

The firewall is overly complicated for new users, I haven't forgiven Comodo for buying then removing as a separate download my favourite trojan killer BoClean. Grrrrrrrrrr. A good security suite however esp for free!. (Still not forgiven them though)

SIMPLY THE BEST SUITE OUT THERE NOT FOR THE AVERAGE USER YOU MUST HAVE A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE TO GET IT WORK PROPERLY AND GET THE MOST OF IT SIMPLY THE BEST SUITE OUT THERE

After you have installed it you can be sure that you're protected. The sandbox is super especially if you don't know a specific software. Highly configurable. The sand box can be annoying and same goes for the firewall pops. Pros-Comodo internet security is highly configurable (good for advanced users)-Choose what you want install during the installation (both AV and firewall or just firewall) that means that you can use other AV-software for instance Avast!, AVG(not a good choice)-Sandbox-less pop ups than previous versions (i.e Comodo 3)-Works smothers and faster than before and more stableCons:The Sandbox's and the firewall's pops up can be annoyingSummary:With CIS you can feel secure. It's a great produce especially for advance users! If you are a beginner you can left.click choose Configuration and then click on Comodo - Proactive security

When I installed it I had the following weird problem pop up! I have Pixo installed on my computer. It never asks to be installed. Yet, when I installed their firewall Pixo would keep insisting to be installed when I would boot up my computer! Anyone else have that weird problem happen to them? When I uninstalled their firewall the problem vanished. Windows XP Pro with service pack 3

Nice new look. v4 was hideous. Uses more cpu than v4, but not too bad. It's as informative as ever, which like. Don't know about the sandbox thingy. Anyway....

Good proactive detection of Viruses, Trojans, and Bogus Antivirus Software. It showed a brilliant firewall... It doesn't scan until the file is accessed... a good security suite or antivirus program should scan all files as they are downloaded that way nothing has the chance to go wrong. Whitelist is too small. Firewall doesn't block exploits. For a free product, it does a good job. I'm somewhat annoyed though that it's heuristics engine deleted my registy cleaner... Microsoft isn't a rogue vendor so I know for a fact that it's a false positive. It failed to fully remove one rogue AV... It didn't clean the registry or the hosts files like other antivirus's do. Which meant that I spent 20 minutes in safe mode deleting the registry keys that prevented the deletion of 4 .dll files... which were easily deleted after I disabled their protective rootkit technology. For the average user... the amount of pop-ups the firewall sometimes bombards them with is unacceptable. Not many people know what a COM Interface is that work outside of the IT department. The Behavior based protection is good but it could be more intelligent... it reported on all behavior [Malicious, Innocent] and the scary red pop-ups for legitimate programs can cause a certain amount of apprehension. It's performance has improved dramatically. Version 4.0 consumed too many resources for even normal activity on a faster PC. Now, unless it is scanning it runs smoothly in the background. As a suggestion for the Comodo Team, I recommend these additions to your Internet Security Product: Exploit Blocking [Firewall], More intelligent Behavior Based Protection [Anti-Virus and Firewall], The use of in-house cleaning methods when malware is detected [Anti-Virus; Disable malware's protective technology as well as cleaning out the registry and hosts files.]; creation of a vendor database to decrease the number of pop-ups the average user has to put up with.

I can't understand why this program can't use the previous version's data and has to update its database as if it were being installed for the first time. I updated from 4.x to 5.x and had to set it to learning mode. The sandbox didn't work (froze my system ... even the clock) so I disabled it until I can try a future version. The antivirus update required approximately 12 minutes to update. I'm giving it a 4 because of the sandbox freezing my system otherwise the remainder seems to work fine. Seems a bit slower but might be because I decided to try out the antivirus and have only been using the firewall and defense+ prior to this update/version. UPDATE: Am uninstalling this version, lowering my rating, and am going to try to revert back to prior version because this one has rendered my computer unusable at times.

New tray icon looks amazing and GUI Uses more RAM than previous. 18 megs instead of 10 megs

Catches most viruses. Easy on the system. None I know of.

Rated 40/50 by gunnerb47 at Sep 17, 2010

Free to use without excessive upgrade pop ups. First scan found issues that one of the competitors missed. Covers most of what is needed. I will evaluate this again after I run it for awhile. scan Is slow I am not sure if the paid version would be any faster. I did not find any information on that to date. So far it seems to work and do the job required.

Reviews from other sites that tested it say it works great. File size is a little big at 56megs. Nowhere does it say it doesn't work for 64-bit windows 7. I get the error message "Does not support this platform". If you have an older version of Windows, try Ashampoo Firewall, it's smaller and does about the same thing.

Anti virus, Firewall, Defense plus, Sandbox There are no bad things about the program I have used Comodo internet security since the 3 version and it has improved with each release. the current version is version 5 or 2011 Comodo protects system files and stops installations that are not in comodo's white-list and asks you what to do with difference plus most programs are in the white-List. If you want to run programs that are suspicious in sandbox were they will not bother the computer, files in the sandbox witch keeps it isolated so it can't harem the computer can be submitted to Comodo for analyst if it is safe it will be removed from sandbox, if it s malware it is removed. Comodo Internet security 5 has cloud scanning for all it's fetchers including the firewall. Comodo internet Security 5 has two version 32 bit and 54 bit both will work on Windows XP, Vista, and 7. You can download both version from this link http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/free-internet-security.php
