Unlocker is a Windows Explorer extension allowing you with a simple right-click on a file or folder to get rid of error message such as error deleting file or folder, cannot delete folder: it's being used by another person or program. Simply right click the folder or file and select Unlocker. If the folder or file is locked, a window listing of lockers will appear. Select the lockers and click Unlock and you are done.

Only someone like Lysa (Phat Esther) would give 1 star for missing a download link... that's NOT MISSING. That is clearly not a review for a program, it's a sign that Lysa forgot to clear her (his?) cookies and clear cache... Seriously - someone needs to start a petition to ban intellectually-compromised people like Phat Esther from voting or even posting at all. Nonsensical reviews, broken English and a horrible lack of common sense are all traits that are despised in the real world, but are condoned here for some reason. When I'm God, the B& Hammer will fall hard on people like this. To everyone else: Just click on Phat Esther's name and read other 'reviews' that they have done for other products. Then you'll see that NO ONE SHOULD REFER TO PHAT ESTHER'S REVIEWS for anything. It's all nonsense and ego-based self-fulfilling prophecy of 1-star reviews that don't make any sense. As for Unlocker, it works perfectly, just as it always has. The new UI elements are welcome, but not as much as the new ability to remove deep directories. This little program as ALWAYS been a Godsend! Thank you, Cedrick for creating an excellent program that does exactly what it's supposed to!

Unlocker works like this, you find the program file and click on it, then you right click and select the picture of a magic wand, it ends up showing you a running proces that blocks you from deleting the program file. Just downloaded it, I don't see a downside yet. Maybe there is a way to kill what is running on your computer, under Task Manager, but I could not figure out wich process to kill, the program is not listed easy to find, basically these free programs when they ask you for an upgrade you loose, it will mess up the original free download and program file, so you cannot even delet the program file and start over Unlocker free ware will do that by showing you what is blocking you from deleting the program file you have to delet the program file in order to start all over. When I first ran it, it did not work? But I ran it again and worked like charm.

The only thing good that came out of this download was finding out that my anti-virus works. AVG didn't like this installation, so neither do I. If you read through the pros then I really don't need to type anymore. Bottom line, don't download if you want your computer infection free. If you couldn't care less about your computers security, go ahead and download.

Was a great tool, I was using an older version for sometime, figured I'd update it. AVG picked up adware.ADON. Clicked link to use older version from the same site, broken link... Updated on May 5, 2011

will never review again will never review again A popular tech e-mail that I read daily recommended I download UNLOCKER. Fine, good idea. Might use it twice a year, great. It installed itself in my toolbar taskbar, statusbar and rightclick menu. I never used it but it had to go.
