I used to have avast and Avira is faster and doesn't take as much memory. Seems like since i installed it my computer have been running faster. None so far... I recommend it.

So far I've been using this, along with Avast and others, and have had no virus infections. Of course, I'm careful with my clicks and read up on the latest virus tricks. Really annoying that whenever I start my computer, their ad to upgrade flashes up. The pop-up trying to get you to upgrade makes me consider not keeping this. Again, I use several anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, so I can't give this product a great review.

Several occasions while I was surfing the web or visiting a site Avira has pre-warned me of a possible attack. Immediatly giving me a choice of blocking or accepting. This is the best AntiVirus program I have ever used. A+ for Avira I wish i had heard of you sooner.....

Quick, clean scans. Kept things clean for me for past 5 months I'd like more of the "pro" options in the free version, but who wouldn't?

It's not bulky or cumbersome like other scanners I've tried. When I tell it to scan, it scans. When I tell it to stop or pause, it does so. It doesn't slow down my computer too much. No visible way to mark certain files as false positives, so they pop up every scan. I used to use AntiVir a long time ago, but it started failing to update. I eventually ditched it for Avast. When Avast failed me and left viruses on my computer, I tried AVG... and when AVG was too bulky and routinely slowed my computer to a crawl, I came back to AntiVir after hearing it had improved. It's a lot better than it used to be and I'm not irritated by having to do virus scans anymore.

It can delete all the threats it detects.Now it has less configurable options, which means Avira is more experienced now. What should I do not like??? The best free AV around. Don't listen to others.

I liked this product at first because it had a very responsive virus scan when i first installed it.It finds very minute security problems on my pc that i was not aware of. It turned to hell.-slowed down my computer-became unresponsive to commands-stopped automatically- updating-pesky ads-it's a virus that can disarm this antivirus and it got me Choose another anitvirus software cause this one ain't it

Easy installation. A very clean uninstall also. Has tons of options to cover every security threat out there. The best thing though is almost no performance lost even during a full scan. Fantastic update Utility also. Grab this one!!!!!!!! NONE............................................................................................. Ive had avira installed for about 6 months now and have not had one single problem from it.. In fact it detected a harmful virus just today. Where are you people surfingf? Mad skull hatters password stealer and key generator? LOL And if you want to see your system start crawling go run and get nortons 360 or client software. Not only will you be out 41 bucks, but just wait till you get sick of it and decide to uninstall it. Thats when it gets real funny LMAO!!!! Its rare to get ANYTHING free in this world , much less it also being a outstanding program to boot. Course with reviews like the ones I just read I can see why a company doesnt.

The built in avira gaurd saved my computer plenty of times while browsing the web. The newest version 10 only installs correctly when you reinstall windows or a fresh reformatting of your hard drive. "Although Diffulcult" But once the new version 10 is installed its an excellent program. I just hate that i had to reinstall windows to get it to install properly, Its worth the trouble though. Avira is way better than AVG, avast, and some of those other ones. With the avira gaurd active i never get viruses.
